Would not recommend ordering from this company

Ordered a full beef brisket for Christmas requesting delivery on the 21st December. Delivery arrived on the 10th December and received 2 ribeye steaks instead of what I ordered. Called the company and was told that my correct order would be delivered the following weekend to be ready for Christmas. No delivery arrived. I have subsequently emailed numerous times requesting a refund and have been ignored. Would not recommend ordering from this company.

Hello David, my apologies for not replying to the review earlier, I was not aware of it and we have only just started working with Trust Pilot.
I can see that you originally ordered a full beef brisket for Christmas with a requested delivery date of December 21st, but instead received two ribeye steaks much earlier than expected. I also understand that, after contacting us, you were assured the correct order would arrive the following weekend, I think it was myself that you spoke to. We did send a brisket as arranged and were not aware that it hadn't been delivered. On top of that, your follow-up emails since Christmas have gone unanswered, which is completely unacceptable.

Having been made aware of the issue, I have tried to email since, but have not had a response. Perhaps they went into a spam folder.

I’d like to put this right for you immediately. I’ll be emailing you directly to arrange a resolution, so please check your email if you read this, or drop me an email to let me know.

Again, I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and the poor communication. I truly appreciate your patience, and I hope we can make this right.

No sign of cooked ham for Christmas…

No sign of cooked ham for Christmas night, fairly inconvenient when hosting 10. . Director of the company apologised stated I could have refund as courier may have lost it. I requested refund. No refund has been issued despite asking a few times. Not even responses to email. Wouldn’t risk it.

St Louis Ribs

Do not under estimate the amount of meat on these ribs. Arrived yesterday well packed in perfect condition. Cooked long and slow on a pellet smoker followed by a sticky glaze until set.
So much tender and tasty meat. Also ordered a brisket which although not cooked yet looks superb quality. I think this is the first of many orders

Superb Steaks and Brilliant Black Pudding!

As a first time customer I placed a not inconsiderable order. It arrived on the day requested with DPD, it was well packaged in eco paper wrapping and still very cold. Unfortunately, one item was missing. However, having made contact using the form on the website I received a same day e Mail reply from the director Ian Smith apologising for the oversight and was refunded the cost of the missing item within days.
As to the quality I can say the Native Breed fillet steaks were the best my wife and I have ever tasted - melt in the mouth delicious! Doreen’s award winning black pudding gets another gold star award from us AND the retired restaurateur for whom I bought some as a gift. He was also very impressed with the Rare breed pork sausage and Baron Bigod Brie with which he was familiar. I bought the Wensleydale cheese and it was so creamy and delicious I will order more.
I have seen some of the other reviews here regarding customer service but can only give an honest review based on our experience. I will definitely order from the Grid Iron Company again.

Mothers Day Lunch

I ordered the leg of lamb, top side of beef and chicken for mother's day. I was feeding 13 people and everyone raved about the quality and taste. Its like the way meat used to look and taste before supermarkets it's not cheap but value for money for a special occasion

The beef topside was very tasty as was…

The beef topside was very tasty as was the free range chicken ,the sausage was a delight ,the pork joint was ok ,but would've thought they could score the rind , the bacon was not to my liking ( too much rind ), but that's only my opinion . Will definitely use again ,but will stick to what I like .

Fantastic

Fantastic. Great quality meat at a good price. Customer service are exceptional- I selected the wrong delivery date and when i emailed them asking if they would put it in the post right away they did so- a week ahead of my original selected (wrong) date, all despite the xmas rush. Will order from them again soon and recommend to all my friends and family. thank you

Amazing food and service

Great food, The collar bacon is second to none, the wing end of beef was amazing and the salumi are also great. Very original recipes, The pork, hazelnut and cider is the nicest I have ever tasted.

Delivery was fast and well packaged.

Very friendly customer service, Very knowledgeable about their products,

Worst dry cured bacon I ever had

bought a selection of "old fashioned" dry cured bacon and other products on 29th Nov. Has to be the worst bacon I have ever had. Swimming in water when cooked, tough and tasteless.

They say you can judge a company best by how they deal with complaints - GridIronMeat simply ignore them! Interestingly, they have also not put my review on their website - seems they only use positive reviews which seems a little fake.....

First time I tried was lovely smoked bacon with rind on and black pudding were best I've tasted will be ordering again soon didn't try the steaks but I will be on my next order 5stars for me lovely fresh meat and very tasty even my wife liked it all so that's a bonus for me

I used to order from them

I used to order from them , but when the last lockdown ended and the restaurants opened they showed their appreciation of domestic customers keeping them open by massively increasing the prices. I was able to contact them during that time if there were an issue but when I questioned the rip-off increase in prices 18 months ago, Ian suddenly went quiet on me. They had prices increase by min of 25% when the actual beef increase at the point was around 12%. Its offensive that domestic clients were used to keep them going during covid then cast aside when the prices got too high. I do hope the cost of living crisis closing restaurants doesn't have the same effect. I say that sarcastically...

Missing items and complete lack of customer response

5 days after receiving my order, which had 2 missing items, I am still chasing a response from Grid Iron Meat. No-one has responded to 3 telephone voicemail messages ( they have never yet answered the telephone) nor to 2 emails. I have assumed their omission of the 2 items was an error, but I have been very disappointed at their complete lack of response, and what seems complete disdain of customers. Nice products, good website, but seem unwilling to respond when something goes wrong. Cannot recommend them after this experience.

Excellent quality and excellent customer service. They really went out of their way to help me with a request and I thank them so much for that! Personal touch without a hint of negative commerciality in their meat or service. Will continue to use and highly recommend!

Good products, poor customer service

All of the products received were really good quality. The Breakfast Box is brilliant as it has 3 different types of bacon. However, on my last order I didn't receive Collar Bacon and it was substituted for smokey streaky bacon. It may seem like a minor thing but I can get streaky anywhere whereas collar is harder to get, therefore I was really looking forward to it.
I contacted the company and they kindly offered to send me some out, but this is yet to be sent 6 weeks later...shame really as previous experiences have been great but they've let me down this time.
