I found the application very easy to set up and it's an effective way to teach my kids about finances at a younger age. The phone app is easy to use, but I'm on a computer all day and wish I could use... See more

A great way to teach finances to autistic kids.
It is easy to work with, easy to navigate. My son is autistic, but has found it very easy to understand. I have seen other offers for apps or debit cards to teach financial lessons, but Greenlight is the best.

Grandma love
I am able to provide money for my grand children, no matter where they are. It’s very convenient and I can monitor their spending and where they are spending.

I found a debit card in an elementary school playground. It took 13 minutes of me talking to the auto attendant to actually get an agent to report this lost card. I think someone with less patience would never be a good Samaritan and report it and possibly try to use it. I know this is the world we live in but this type of debit card for students should be much easier of a navigation to get an actual agent to report a lost card if you are not a green card member.

Another fraud charge on the card
This is the second card I have received for my child from Greenlight due to unauthorized charges on my account. The first incident occurred at 2 a.m. on a weeknight. Initially, Greenlight approved my fraud claim and reversed the charge, but later denied it after I received a new card, asserting that my child had made the transaction and took the money that was rightfully mine.
About two months later, after I received the new card, another unauthorized transaction occurred. This time, it was for paying a bill. That's right—a bill! Apparently, my young teen has bills to pay. Fortunately, the transaction was denied due to insufficient funds. Unfortunately, if the card had enough funds, the transaction would have gone through, and I would be fighting with the fraud department yet again over another unauthorized charge.
What is happening with the security on your cards? Please improve it.

Greenlight is so easy!
Greenlight has made allowances and keeping track of chores so easy! I love that my kid has to do all the chores and check his tasks off before he gets paid.

Great if you don't need your money
2 and getting worse as it goes. GL was amazing at first. I was able to trust that money transferred in would be be available for my children, I could watch where money was spent for safety, and my kids loved the learning features. Recently they decided to change things to be more "dynamic" as they put it. Turns out that means that they can cha ge their policies without telling you and hold your money for DAYS when you intiate a transfer. Now my money is not in my bank, or my kid's GL and he is on a trip with a group. I have sent countless emails only to be met with AI base communication, and apathy. Still didn't get my money.

he idea of teaching a child financial…
he idea of teaching a child financial responsibility early on was initially appealing, but this 'kid's credit card' has been a negative experience. The fees are excessive, with charges for everything – monthly fees, late fees, and even card reloading. These fees may be designed to take advantage of parents, raising questions about the company's commitment to financial education versus profit.
The advertised parental controls are unreliable. The card was maxed out on in-app purchases and video games, despite set limits. The app's interface is also difficult to navigate.
Customer service is unavailable. Attempts to resolve a billing error have been unsuccessful for weeks, with long wait times and generic email responses. This lack of support suggests a disregard for customers, particularly parents managing family finances.
For those seeking to teach children about money, there are better alternatives than this credit card. This company may be taking advantage of parents' good intentions. It is best to avoid it, to avoid financial issues and stress!"

Greenlight has helped our kids…learn how to manage their money
Greenlight has helped our kids understand how to put away money for savings and for giving and also how to invest their money wisely. It also teaches them responsibility, like completing chores, jobs, and how to be good stewards of money.

Terrible
Terrible, I hate this site, it's confusing, none of the kids have been very successful with the cards. I hate the fees the balance transfer and everything else. I'm trying to cancel it as we speak and it doesn't allow me to send my money back to my card. Complicated!

Account was compromised NO REFUND GIVEN
Super disappointed. I got these cards for my sons who were 10 & 12 (now 12 & 14). One of their cards information was compromised, we live in California and I got a $80.21 charge from a subway in Maryland. I called greenlight right away and they said there was nothing they could do unitl the charge was settled. They suspended the card so no further charges could be made. So I contacted them two days later and the were going to investigate the charge. I reached out a couple months later and they said that there was nothing they could do because there was a 60 day timeline that I didn't adhere to. They looked up my account an saw that I called, but that I didn't file the formal request on the APP. Ridiculous we paid $10/month for safety a protections that ended up not existing! BEWARE!!!

It has been a great experience with Greenlight, teaching my son money management, and just letting him have freedom to spend his money.
