Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 410 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Travelers frequently complained about unexpectedly high baggage fees, hidden costs, and sudden price increases that made their budget trips much more expensive than anticipated. Furthermore, consumers experienced terrible customer service, unhelpful automated responses, and severe flight delays that ruined their travel plans. Passengers also noted problems with the booking process and unfair treatment by gate staff. Though some travelers faced severe issues, a small group of reviewers were happy with the cabin crew, mentioning that certain staff members were professional, polite, and attentive during flights. A few other people also felt that short, direct flights were acceptable when traveling light.

Terrible

Terrible. Awful. Worst airline experience ever. We departed from Las Vegas (LAS) airport to Los Angeles (LAX), the staff at the boarding gate were extremely unfriendly. If you’ve ever travelled in Europe you know what Ryanair is (a low cost airline), most Europeans consider it terrible. But compared to Frontier that airline is first class. Before boarding they told me I had to put my tiny handbag in my backpack or else I’d have to pay 99$. Absurd because this has never happened to me before. I was about to put it in my backpack but they made me leave the line and then redo the entire boarding line causing me to lose my storage space above for my carryon. I had a bag with food and a sweater. They started telling me with an extremely rude tone that we couldn’t have the sweater in the bag, only the food. They made us leave the boarding line again. On board, they didn’t even clean the aircraft prior to boarding and my seat had gum and a dirty wet wipe. Disgusting. The hostesses on board seemed fed up and didn’t smile once. Terrible experience, first and last time I fly with Frontier.

This is the only airline that makes you…

This is the only airline that makes you check the size of your personal item. I’ve been flying for my job for 6 years now, twice a month, and I’ve flown with multiple airlines. My personal item had to be sized multiple times with FRONTIER only. One time the flight was delayed for entire 4 hours and when we finally got our plane everyone had to size their personal item, which delayed the flight even further. It felt like a double F…you!
ZERO costumer service.

Frontier app

I reached out to customer service to get help with adding a my flight to my Frontier app as well as adding a carry on. Every time I attempted to do this, it would state my email address is invalid and my flight belonged to another person. After being sent link after link the problem still wasn't resolved. Ultimately after contacting them several times and wasting over an hour of my time, they manually added my flight and carry on. After all that they still charged me the fee for a carry on, with no mention of giving me the service for free or at a reduced rate. This is not the first time I've had an issue with their app. The app is supposed to make it easier and more convenient, instead it's time consuming and extremely aggravating. Not to mention the excessive cost of every additional add on, the cost of seating and a carry on. It ends up being over $200.00 in fees by time you book your ticket. In the future, I will reconsider flying with Frontier even if it means paying more. I have never had such a hard time with an airline app as I have with Frontier.

Frustrating Booking Experience and Poor Website Functionality

Extremely frustrating experience with Frontier Airlines. I attempted to book flights using 10,000 miles per passenger, but repeated website glitches, including incorrect gender validation errors and issues adding family members, prevented me from completing the reservation.
By the time I worked through Frontier's technical problems, the exact same flights had jumped to 25,000 miles per passenger—a 150% increase!
Beyond this incident, I've experienced numerous website resets and other functionality issues. As an Elite Silver member, I expected better. Frontier needs to invest in a functioning booking platform and take responsibility when its technical problems cost customers money or miles.

Let save a brother or a sister, this the worst of the worst, I got ripped off a flight that’s was supposed to cost $200 ended up being additional $650, firstly the staff are very rude, especially the two old women by the boarding pass, I was late for only five minutes only to be told I have to rebook another flight, in addition had to pay for carry on,which I showed my bag the staff at the front said it’s okay reaching the boarding area am told doesn’t qualify for carry on had to pay another $ 99, in addition to the $ 150 paid earlier as the say cheap is expensive run and run

We will never fly Frontier ever again

We will never fly Frontier ever again. Our family of three was separated on both our departing and returning flights. We booked all the tickets together and there were open seats next to each other, so logically we all should have been booked in the same row. Instead, we had to pay each way to sit next to each other. They squeezed $110 extra dollars out of us with their sheisty business practices, but they have lost all future business from us...and looking at the consistency of poor reviews left on this page it looks like we are not alone.

Frustrating check-in experience

I tried to check in for my Frontier flight from Phoenix 55 minutes before departure and was refused because their cutoff is 60 minutes. I went to the staff for help, but they were very unhelpful, and I ended up having to buy a different flight at my own expense.

I understand that airlines have check-in deadlines, but being five minutes past the cutoff and getting so little help made this an incredibly frustrating experience. A cheap ticket isn’t much of a bargain when you end up paying for another flight. I’ll think twice before booking Frontier again.

Forced my wife and I to throw away our checked bag because we were 6 minutes beyond their “policy” deadline (55min early for our flight). I’m a physician and have been flying for over 20 years. This was the worst I, or my wife, have ever been treated by an airline. The Fort Lauderdale Bag checking crew for Frontier airlines treat their customers terribly. I will happily give the competitors of Frontier extra money from here on out. I will encourage my business to do the same.

Absolutely incompetent, no assistance to service members. Making modifying flights due to military obligations nearly impossible, customer service same useless template response. Not understanding there is no more official document than the original orders I received.

Extremely disappointing experience with Frontier Airlines.

My flight F9 1469 from Las Vegas to San Diego was delayed for approximately SIX HOURS. Spending that amount of time at the airport waiting for a short flight is completely frustrating.

What made the experience worse was the lack of clear communication and adequate assistance during such a significant delay. Passengers deserve better information and customer service when a flight is delayed for this long.

After this experience, I would seriously think twice before booking with Frontier again. A low fare isn’t worth losing six hours of your time and dealing with this level of frustration.

Very disappointing experience.

My flights were canceled

My flights were canceled, including both my outbound and return flights, without Frontier providing me with a clear explanation for the cancellation. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that the same flight appeared to still be available for purchase through Expedia, while Frontier’s own website showed no availability.

I booked this trip because I have specific dates that I cannot change, and Frontier’s cancellation left me with very few options. When a customer has a confirmed reservation, the airline should provide a clear explanation, transparent communication, and a reasonable solution—not simply cancel the itinerary and leave the customer trying to figure out what happened.

I understand that airlines sometimes have to cancel or modify flights, but the way this situation was handled was extremely frustrating and confusing. Customers deserve better communication and transparency when their travel plans are disrupted.

I hope Frontier improves the way it handles cancellations and provides customers with clear information and meaningful rebooking options.

Rude Flight Attendants

The flight attendants were very rude, mocking and picking on one of the passengers throughout the flight while she was in earshot. Flight attendants spoke disrespectfully to passengers if bags were being placed in the wrong overhead compartment or if sitting in the wrong seat.

Wish I could give it lower than one star.

⭐️ 1 STAR — and that is being Generous… really generous! This was An expensive lesson in “you get what you pay for.”

My experience with Frontier was frustrating from start to finish, and unfortunately, it lived up to the airline’s reputation for nickel-and-diming customers.

Frontier seems to have turned charging for everything into an art form. What initially looks like a cheap fare quickly becomes a collection of additional charges for basic parts of the travel experience. I understand that this is Frontier’s business model, and I accept that different airlines have different pricing structures. But when things go wrong, you expect the airline’s customer service to make up for some of that frustration.

That was not my experience.

Our flight was delayed more than four hours. I understand that delays caused by air traffic control are not necessarily within the airline’s control, so I’m not criticizing Frontier simply for the delay itself. My issue was how the situation was handled afterward.

We were told that meal vouchers would be provided, and staff apparently submitted requests for them. However, when we tried to obtain the vouchers, those requests were denied. After spending more than four additional hours dealing with a significant delay, it was incredibly frustrating to be told that the assistance we had been told about wasn’t actually going to happen.

Then, to make the experience even better, my luggage was returned damaged.

At that point, the irony was hard to miss: the airline that seems to charge extra for just about everything was suddenly very reluctant to provide assistance when passengers actually needed it.

I don’t expect an airline to control air traffic, eliminate every delay, or make travel completely stress-free. I do expect clear communication, reasonable customer service, and some accountability when a passenger’s belongings are damaged.

Instead, this experience left me feeling like the customer is important right up until the moment something goes wrong.

Frontier may be able to offer a lower advertised fare, but passengers should be very aware of what that experience can look like once you add the fees, the inconvenience, and—at least in my case—the damaged luggage and lack of meaningful assistance during a four-plus-hour delay.

The price may be low, but apparently so is the level of customer service.

I won’t be choosing Frontier again.

We booked an 8:30 pm flight from Kansas city to San Diego . The plane was to land at 11:50 am. The plane was late, landing at 1am. It flew down to Texas to supposedly avoid a storm in Denver, but the plane jerked and trembled so badly I thought I was going to die. They didn't serve any complimentary snacks, not even coffee or a beverage. The seats were so crammed together I had a red rash on my knee after the flight where my nee was stuffed into the seat in front of me. . Zero stars to Frontier.

If there was a negative star I would…

If there was a negative star I would have put that. My experience with Frontier was absolutely horrible, the stewardess was the most hateful, rude. What I'm about to post is unbelievable and I hope nobody else has to experience what our flight did.
Worst experience I have ever had flying. Today September 10th 2026 I rode on airplane number 1481 from Orlando Florida into DFW. We sat on the tarmac for almost an hour and a half due to weather, then had to reroute our flight which took longer, no big deal. During the flight I turned on my
call light because I was thirsty and was going to order a Coke when the stewardess came she looked at the couple beside me and asked what they had wanted and I let her know that it was me and she rudely said" what do you want? I said a Coke she rudely said what? So I repeated a little louder a Coke. She again rudely told me they don't serve drinks while the plane is still. Once we flew into DFW we had to sit on the tarmac another hour because Air Force One was there and all planes had to come to a stop. Not Frontiers fault
but people were asking for water and being ignored. One guy turned on his light and she passed him so he turned it on again and she came over and yelled at 9him to stop turning on his light. He told her he was just trying to ask a question and she told him that that light was for emergency only and he said I just wanted to know how much longer we would be sitting here. She yelled something at him and he began hollering back at herabout how rude she is. I wish I would have gotten her name. Considering we had to sit in the plane with no food no drinks and when they did bring you a water they filled it a quarter Way full. all in all I think the passengers did a good job being calm a little irritated with this stewardess however her job is customer service and not to talk and treat us like common trash. The only thing that I would fault Frontier for is that when we are on a plane for almost 6 hours , the very leastthey could have done was serve peanuts or something. There were kids on the plane that was hungry and getting cranky and they refused to service us with anything. Worst experience ever!

The Frontier GoWild

The Frontier GoWild! Pass has genuinely been one of the most pointless travel purchases I’ve made.

I live in State College, PA. Frontier doesn’t serve our local airport in any useful way for this pass, so apparently my amazing “travel pass” requires me to first DRIVE 3+ HOURS to Philadelphia or DC just to have a reasonable chance of using it. Very convenient.

Then comes the best part: once you actually search for flights, the options are ridiculously limited and the prices often aren’t even that different from just booking normally. I paid around $200 for a pass, yet I still struggle to find trips cheap enough to make me feel like I actually HAVE a pass. What exactly did I pay $200 for? The excitement of repeatedly searching Frontier’s website and finding nothing useful?

I contacted Frontier asking for a refund because I have never even used the pass. I explained that it was purchased accidentally using my dad’s card, that the service is practically unusable from where I live, and that I would happily purchase it again in the future if my circumstances changed.

Their response? Sorry — “policy.” Apparently if enough time passes, it doesn’t matter whether you used the service, whether it provides any practical value to you, or whether you’re asking for a reasonable exception. Their agents repeatedly told me they “cannot override the policy,” and even refused to escalate it because supposedly supervisors would say exactly the same thing.

So Frontier can take $200 for a service I have never used and realistically cannot use, but apparently nobody in the entire company has the authority to compensate or refund a dissatisfied customer because “policy.”

Fantastic system.

If you’re considering GoWild!, PLEASE check which airports near you actually have useful Frontier service and compare the supposed GoWild fares with normal airfare before handing them your money. The marketing makes it sound far more useful than the actual experience has been for me.

For me, this has been $200 wasted on an extremely limited product, followed by customer service whose solution was essentially: “We understand your frustration, but too bad.”

I’m still requesting a refund or reasonable compensation for a service I have never used. Charging customers this much for something this restrictive and then hiding behind a no-exception policy when they ask for help is ridiculous.

Everything went wrong

Everything went wrong. They changed my itinerary so my layover went from 1 hour 40 min in Denver to 5 hours in Dallas. Didn't know you had to check in on line or they charge you 25.00 to check in at the desk. And your carry on at 1 airport might be okay but its size at another airport it's a problem and then charged another 65.00 for a carry on. No complimentary drinks or snacks and we were stuck on the run way for an hour. I will never recommend Frontier and ill never fly frontier again. Horrible customer service too. The way I saw their agents treat people in Dallas was wild and so awful. Just disgusted

Never again

Never again. Change after change a for a week straight after I booked. Day of: We checked in and got our boarding passes. Sat at the gate for an hour and finally noticed nothing was happening. I go ask a desk person and he tells me I’m supposed to be in a completely different part of the airport. We ended up missing our flight. They rebooked it and it wasn’t that bad. We got to our layover, we boarded, and spent an hour and a half sitting in the plane before finally taking off. Go ahead and spend those extra $35-$70 on another airline and save yourself a headache. Flying Frontier is like playing Russian Roulette, but instead of just one bullet it’s just one empty slot in the barrel.

Cheap and Cheat Airlines

This airlines qualifies for the tag of “Cheap and Cheat”. They will force you to download their app for check-in, then won’t show the booking, force you to pay $25 at the counter for boarding cards. Won’t travel again.
