Stuck at Salzburg airport after a…

Stuck at Salzburg airport after a mistake in my booking a flight with edreams, who had booked me a seat with Flybe. Phoned both these companies. Position one took. " Well our records show that we booked you". Position the other company took was. "Well we didn't get booking confirmation, so we can't let you on".
Ingham's rep at the airport, nothing to do with my booking, saw the problems, made some calls and in the end managed to get me on the flight I had booking confirmation for, both printed and on the edream app.

Update is that I have not been contacted by either company, other than an automated response 5 days ago to say that they had received my response. This is shocking, and if only I could remove the one star.
Call to edreams in my return to be told I need to email my concerns in. Have still not had a reply.
Lesson learnt is not to use edreams or Flybe.
Ingham's, top marks.
Edreams and Flybe, shame on you both, bottom of the class.

21st August now. One email response from Flybe to acknowledge receipt of my complaint outside of this posting. Since then, no contact from the company. Original trip was on August 3rd.
I am appalled at how a company can get away with this level of customer care. I wish that I could remove thw one star that I am forced to choose from this rating.

I have rated this 2 stars because I…

I have rated this 2 stars because I feel that when I booked car hire through this company I was quoted £140 but after using the car hire company recommended by Flybe (i.e Budget - NEVER USE THEM!) I ended up paying £422.58!!!!

Flybe - Why are you using this car hire company they are total criminals. The reviews are terrible. My experience of them is awful and I was DECEIVED and ROBBED.

Please align yourselves with a more reputable car hire company. This one is very bad.

We were not aware that Flybe uses a smaller cabin bag size to other airlines and had to pay £100 to put 2 small cases in the hold. Very annoying that we had no warning that they did this. We will avoid Flybe in future.

I will never fly with Flybe again!

As a regular European flyer, I was astonished that on a recent flight with Flybe (07.07.19) I was charged an additional £50 due to the size of my cabin case.
I have flown with Flybe on several occasions but was never asked to check my case size. On further inspection, it became apparent that Flybe's case width allowance is 5 cm less than all of the European budget airlines. I believe this is a case of the company simply looking to squeeze additional revenue from its customers and for this reason, I will never use the airline again!
Be warned of their underhand tactics!

Delayed by 3 hours on a flight from…

Delayed by 3 hours on a flight from Spain to Exeter meaning we landed eventually after 1.15am. My cabin baggage was allowed on and fitted easily in the overhead locker. On return trip only 5 days later i was made to pay £40 for the same bag to HAVE to be put in the hold as suddenly it didn't comply with the baggage size FlyBe have insisted upon. We then had yet another 2 1/2 hour delay with no explanation - then sat on the plane for another 20 minutes with a'baggage issue' before taking off. The overhead lockers were not full and many other passengers had carry on bags larger than mine. I have renamed FlyBe Maybe as the constant delays are beyond a joke. We were offered free soft drinks on the flight but for some reason NOT on the way from Spain to UK. Where is your consistency? Talking to other passengers waiting for luggage in Spain many were disgruntled and not wishing to fly FlyBe again.

Were not granted access to lounge…and stung for cabin case dimension

Were not granted access to lounge although flying business class. Did not complain or make a fuss, just had our breakfast in a public restaurant. What really made me angry and will make me svoid Flybe is the treatment of my son flying to Jersey. Specially bought cabin bag was not accepted because it exceeded the Flybe maximum dimensions by 3 cm. The Flybe dimensions for cabin are the lowest in the Industry. A real money maker for them, with staff that enforces those dimensions as if they are on a commission.
Shame, in future i will consider to fly competitors and rather pay a bit more.

Hand luggage!
Check its size very carefully as you will be made to pay for minor transgressions.
Totally inconsistent enforcement of the rules and attitude of the staff.
Some are clearly being rewarded for catching baggage cheats, formerly known as paying customers.
Avoid if any alternative is available or simply stuff your pockets with your belongings and leave hand luggage at home to avoid the cost and humiliation.

Made to feel worthless

We travelled from Birmingham to Berlin and the whole experience was disappointing. We have a standard sized cabin bag (55x40x25) but due to it being hardcase rather than a softshell it did not fit in the Flybe specific mould, at no point when booking were we notified of this.

Considering we were looking at an extra charge of £50 per bag and not having access to a bank account at the time we were advised that we would not be allowed on the flight! Bearing in mind we had more than enough physical cash to cover this cost. Luckily we found a kind passenger who was willing to take our cash in exchange for payment with her card and therefore allowed us to board the plane, once again none of this information was displayed or made visible to customers when purchasing tickets.

Being punished for having a hard shell cabin case and not being allowed to pay in cash caused us serious distress, embarrassment and made us feel like less than dirt in front of all fellow passengers.

Do not use Flybe, avoid at all costs.

Worst airline ever

Flybe reduced the hand luggage size before the flight without any proper notice, provided their staff with luggage measurement units which were even smaller than the new sizing, and forced every single person with a hand luggage on the flight, no matter the size (about 50 people at least) to dish out £50 to board the plane. Not only this is against consumer rights, but it also goes against antitrust laws as the true hidden cost of the flight was forcefully push to nearly double what the ticket at the time of purchase cost, hence exerting unfair competition against competitor airlines in the and route.
Furthermore the staff at the gate refused to provide passenger with a legal receipt showing the item of purchase for the £50 charge.
An utterly despicable airline with zero ethics: avoid at all cost!

JUST HAD THE WORST HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE…

JUST HAD THE WORST HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE THROUGH THIS DISGUSTING COMPANY & WILL NEVER EVER USE THESE AGAIN. I AM GOING TO TO TAKE THIS FURTHER AS THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH THIS AND I WILL FIGHT THIS TILL THE END!!!..
I turned up on Saturday around 04.00 am to book in for my flight at Exeter airport on my way to a 06.05 flight to Faro. Only had a cabin bag & a very small rucksack.
I simply asked if I had to go and join the queue that was forming as I had checked in online and only had cabin luggage. The lady looked down at my luggage & said it was fine and she would check me through.
Got to the cage thing that measures the bags and although my main cabin bag fitted, I was told because it didn't go all the way to the floor I would have to pay an excess of £40 each way = £80 extra, despite the case being within the advertised sizes, and weighing in at 8.5kgs which is under their 10kg limit. The reason why it didn't fit all the way is because it was designed with a embossed front. I have been all over the world with my little cabin bag & have NEVER EVER had an issue as it will 100% fit into the overhead lockers but the design obviously threw the Exeter Hitlers.
I wasn't happy as you can imagine & asked to speak to someone in authority....however, this old lady that was checking in other passengers with hold luggage decided to get involved!!...While I was quietly stood there waiting to speak to a supervisor this certain person decided to put her 10 cents worth in every 2 minutes trying to wind me up and I felt she was actually trying to go on an ego trip by constantly blanking every explanation I was giving as to why I thought the charges were over inflated and wrong.
I was travelling alone, 100% sober, not causing any problems, underweight with my luggage, I had even paid for 2 seats and booked in the 2 seats but my son-in-law had let me down last minute, don't get away much as I care fulltime for my housebound wife, just gone through the horror of my youngest daughter (21) receiving treatment for Cancer, was meeting up with my other daughter & grandson, mother & sister for a well earned break. Despite all this and simply mentioning to the check-in lady that somehow decided she didn't like me that I would never fly via Flybe again I WAS TOLD IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS THAT I WAS BEING OFF LOADED!!!!!...WHY???...because, while I was waiting I mentioned that I would never use Flybe ever again due to the way I was being treated!! .....This is so so wrong & yes, I admit I did get a bit upset as I was dropped off at 4am, my lift had gone, I asked to speak to a manager that never showed, and was constantly wound up by someone on the check-in desks, so I did storm out as I was stranded, had been told I was off loaded because I thought they were wrong, hadn't slept all night and was humiliated in front of the queues of people wanting to go on holiday, wouldn't you be a bit fed up???...Never got off on my Birthday week to Portugal with my family, am at home writing this to warn other people to NEVER EVER fly via Exeter airport or Fly via FLYBE!!!!....They have not heard the last of this and I will be seeking legal advice. Just a final point, I have flown or attempted to fly from Exeter airport 3 times now, each time there has been an issue. I could explain but I cannot be bothered as they are beyond useless, however....I go 3-4 times a year via Bristol Airport & usually via Easyjet or Thomas Cook & NEVER EVER had a problem, Bristol staff are absolutely fantastic!!!...Never ever will I go via my local Airport Exeter & will NEVER use Flybe again!!!!...Absolutely disgusting and will hopefully see them in court!!

EDIT......LOOKING THROUGH OTHER REVIEWS IT SEEMS THAT THEY CAN'T EVEN AGREE HOW MUCH TO RIP YOU OFF WITH. I WAS TOLD £40 EACH WAY FOR A HARD CASE BUT OTHERS HAVE BEEN CHARGED £50 EACH WAY SO YES, TOTAL CROOKS!!!.

Having always flown with the same size…

Having always flown with the same size carry on case I was amazed to discover your carry on baggage size was so SMALL, and further really unhappy to have been charged 50.00 pounds at the gate. A charge I feel is extremely inflated considering the main reason I fly with a carry on is for ease of getting to my business appointments at the other end of my journey. I was then informed the 50.00 was only ONE WAY and a further 55 euros would be chaged on my return leg, aprrox. 100.00 pounds for a case 1 cm too wide. VERY DISSAPOINTING!
We were then delayed by 1 hour at Amsterdam, Furthermore, on landing in Birmingham we had a 50 minute wait for our baggage at the reclaim - we were later informed our baggage was taken to the domestic reclaim in error and they manually wheeled each case to the reclaim, we were waiting with no information for nearly 1 hour for a bag that would have fitted in the hold which in turn made my journey one I hope to never experience by never using you again. My first and last Fly Be trip was in short - Horrific!

Worst company EVER

Worst company EVER! Do yourself a favor and do not fly with them!!!!! My hand luggage was apparently too big so I was forced to pay 40£ to check it in. Their sizes for hand luggage are under the normal standards for hand luggage. So it makes it impossible for you to fly with a hand luggage without paying 40£ to check in.

Absolutely shocking treatment and service. Newcastle to Southampton hand luggage bag checked on departure from Newcastle no problem. Yet on the return journey from Southampton the same bag checked by a very rude check in person told me it was too large and charged me £40 the weight only 7kg allow10kg. This bag has been with me for years never charged as it is hand luggage it’s an absolute con I’m furious. How on earth do they get away with it???!????

Mafia scam company

1 star is generous, they scam travelers in a pathetic way. My hand luggage that respected the limits published on their website and traveled all the world including the same aircraft on the same airline 4 times was oversized for them and asked a ransom of 50 GBP to get to the plane I paid for. Ryanair is honest, compared to them. Basically a mafia, no surprise it's going bankruptcy, which I hope will happen soon

Company bully boys prey on the young and elderly

Had an appalling run in with Flybe at Edinburgh Airport last week after my cabin luggage was deemed too big although on my journey out from Exeter five days earlier it had been checked and given the all clear. At Edinburgh, thanks to the hysterical desk staff who shouted I had to pay £50 to be able to take my case on board after it failed their metal measuring equipment, the police were called. I am a 74-year-old grandmother returning home after visiting family with out a stain on her character. To be confronted by the police was humiliating experience although rather farcical in retrospect. The policeman called to the scene had a modicum of common sense and calmed down the situation, I paid the £50 and was allowed to travel home.
Is this shades of things to come, company bully boys preying on children and the elderly? Disgraceful, unscrupulous and cynical tactics to squeeze yet more money out of helpless passengers. It is blackmail. Stand up and be counted on this one if we don’t want our country to go to the dogs.
