Hotel Erica has an excelllent location in the woods, and close to the pretty cycling roads around Nijmegen. The hotel is decently clean and the staff were nice.
I do not recommend Spaarnwoude Fletcher Hotel
We had no internet (It was broken and not repaired during our stay)! No hand towels! No tea or coffee /water boiler in the room (normally they do)! No welcome drink (which was in our package)! No sauna as it was shown on their website! The swimming pool was rented out when we wanted to use the swimming pool! The steak was the worst steak we ever ate! Moreover, We paid a package deal 260 Euros! Which was 76 Euros more than other guests paid at the same day for the same meal, breakfast and park entrance arrangements!

Great staff, wonderful room. Spacious, clean and charming with the little balcony. I regret not trying the food at the resultant but we just booked last minute while on the road and were exhausted. Would definitely try it next time!
A fine hotel in a great location
This is a fine hotel in a great location where we have stayed many times now. Rooms are spacious and clean, staff friendly, breakfast plentiful. We always take the river view room. A little more attention needs to be paid to details like replacing the shower hose or providing proper size towels (they are rather small).

I paid more than the agreed price, and nobody would help me.
I used Bookng.com for this reservation and realized that the total price I had agreed upon was 3 euros more,
The receptionist at the hotel refused to help me (she also said she was the duty manager and that the person above her was, surprise surprise, on holiday).
The customer 'service' agent I spoke to at Fletcher's helpdesk also refused to help me and hung up the phone. She also told me that her receptionist colleague had said I was rude and unfriendly - so they had obviously been in contact and had decided nobody would help me.
I have never felt this unwelcome all the years I have stayed at Fletcher. Based on this experience, I do not recommend them at all. Thinking in solutions (either reimbursing the 3 euros or offering a free drink for the inconvenience) is something that can be improved,
We hope to stay longer next time
The location which is surrounded by woods with nice landscape makes us feel relaxed and connected to the nature. Unfortunately we had such a short stay and it was raining so we didn't have time to explore the areas. The dinner was tasty, the atmosphere in the restaurant was quite cozy with nice decoration. The rooms were quite spacious and clean. The breakfast had quite variety of meals.

Upon contacting customer service to understand how to use the card, I was informed that I could simply present it at the hotel reception. However, upon arrival at the reception, I was unexpectedly asked to pay an additional 53.83 euros.

I bought 1 night for 2 people in a Flechterhotel in the Netherlands via a flyer (special offer!! for 35 euros/night). At first, 35 euros turned directly into 65 euros, because this is the price per person and breakfast is of course not included. Then you can only see which hotels and rooms are available online at fletcher -Webside 4 weeks before your travel time - and you quickly realize that a maximum of 1-2 days (!!) per MONTH can only be booked if the hotel is available via fletcher or booking.com and, oh wonder, costs almost the same - so what an offer - NOT. This makes it almost impossible to find a hotel in the region where you would like to stay in 4 weeks. Of course, anyone can also take a spontaneous vacation and then go somewhere inland instead of, for example, the sea, just because there is simply nothing on offer. The voucher can only be returned 2 weeks after purchase, which of course nobody tells you and you have no idea that there is simply nothing on offer in the travel period you would like to use (and I'm not talking about big cities but rural regions in WINTER, which, as I said, are available everywhere on Booking-Website for example). In short, you feel like you've been taken for a ride and I wouldn't recommend FLETCHER hotels to anyone, let alone believe and buy any "discounts"! In addition, many hotels are outdated and run-down - the "modernized/newly built hotels" are of course also not bookable with the voucher or only with an EXTRA surcharge...this is also not mentioned on the flyer from Fletcher! HANDS OFF AND NEVER AGAIN FLETCHER!!!!!

Below is an email I sent to the hotel itself, and to head office of the Fletcher Group. Not an apology, or even a reply. Guests at this hotel are treated like Euros. Put them in the till and forget who gave them, or that any service is required for those Euros.

We have enjoyed staying at Fletcher Hotels several times. We often stayed there with pleasure for several days. That's why our latest experience is so disappointing.
We had made a reservation for 4 nights starting November 18th. But on the morning of this day, before we left for the North, I ended up in the emergency room of a hospital in Amsterdam for 7 hours. I was very sick, we knew we wouldn't be able to keep our reservation. So my husband called the hotel while sitting next to my bed in the ER. He explained that due to my illness we could not keep our reservation and asked if, given this very unfortunate event that we could not have foreseen, we could get a credit or voucher for a later date: “Sorry sir, but our policy is fixed . You must pay for the entire reservation.” My husband replied, “But we are not asking for a refund, just a credit for a future date.” There was no reasoning with the robot on the phone. A few days later, when I had recovered a bit, I called the central Fletcher organization myself and asked again if we could receive a voucher for the 4-day reservation we had made and had to pay. Once again the answer was a robotic “no”.
So while we are “Friends of Fletcher,” it is very clear that they are not friends of ours. We are ending our “friendship” with Fletcher Hotels. I promise you: only in an emergency, we will give our money or our presence in a Fletcher Hotel.

We hebben meerdere malen genoten van een verblijf in Fletcher Hotels. Vaak zijn we er met plezier meerdere dagen gebleven. Daarom is onze laatste ervaring zo teleurstellend.
We hadden een reservering gemaakt voor 4 nachten, beginnende 18 november. Maar op de ochtend van die dag, voordat we naar het Noorden vertrokken, belandde ik 7 uur op de spoedeisende hulp van een ziekenhuis in Amsterdam. Ik was erg ziek, we wisten dat we onze reservering niet zouden kunnen behouden. Dus belde mijn man het hotel terwijl hij naast mijn bed op de Eerste Hulp zat. Hij legde uit dat we vanwege mijn ziekte onze reservering niet konden behouden en vroeg of we, gezien deze zeer ongelukkige gebeurtenis die we niet hadden kunnen voorzien, een tegoed of voucher voor een latere datum konden krijgen: “Sorry meneer, maar ons beleid is gemaakt. U dient de gehele reservering te betalen.” Mijn man antwoordde: “Maar we vragen niet om terugbetaling, alleen om een tegoed voor een toekomstige datum.” Er was geen redenering met de robot aan de telefoon. Een paar dagen later, toen ik weer een beetje hersteld was, heb ik zelf de centrale Fletcher organisatie gebeld en opnieuw gevraagd of we een of andere tegemoetkoming konden krijgen voor de 4 dagen reservering die we hadden gemaakt en moesten betalen. Opnieuw was het antwoord een robotachtig “nee”.
Dus hoewel we “Vrienden van Fletcher” zijn, is het heel duidelijk dat ze geen vriend van ons zijn. Wij beëindigen onze “vriendschap” met Fletcher Hotels. Ik beloof u: alleen in een noodsituatie is, zullen we ons nog laten zien in een Fletcher Hotel.

On the fateful evening of 20th October 2023 (our anniversary), we set out with great anticipation for our short getaway, which we had booked through Travelcircus. The grueling six-hour journey left us exhausted when we finally reached our hotel at 8:00 PM. After checking in and paying the tourist tax, we received the key card for our room. However, this card failed to work, forcing us to shuttle back and forth between our room and the reception desk, laden with our luggage.
A physical key was then provided, but it, too, proved useless. To our surprise, no one accompanied us on this frustrating journey. The key failed us again, and the maddening cycle continued. After three laborious attempts and hours of discussions, we were finally allowed to leave our bags at the reception. Exhausted and in need of respite, we sought refuge in the restaurant while the staff promised to resolve the issue.
After what felt like an eternity, someone finally appeared, only to deliver disheartening news. The staff member regretfully informed us that they also couldn't access the room, and regrettably, no other room was available. She offered us the option of taking an additional 40-minute journey to a partner hotel in Scheveningen. Considering that we had visited Scheveningen ten times before and had no desire to undertake another hour of travel without the certainty of finding rest, especially since it was already 10:30 PM, it was difficult to fathom that there were no vacant rooms in the entire hotel. To our dismay, we realized that it was evidently possible to book rooms online at that time. Hence, it cannot be denied that rooms were available, even if they might have been more expensive.
Ultimately, we made the painful decision to embark on another four-hour journey back home, just for the assurance of finally being able to sleep without further obstacles. After covering 800 kilometers and 10 hours diving, we finally arrived home at 3:00 AM.
Considering the inconveniences we endured, the missed opportunity, and the strains we were subjected to, we strongly demand a refund of our money and compensation for this frustrating experience.
