The Truth…
Subject to reference POT96763, an investigation has been undertaken by the HCPC due to the discovery of numerous social media posts and news articles which referred to Christian Smith allegedly being a 'former trained paramedic', as well as on his own Instagram which historically listed him as a 'critical care medic'. This is aside from spoken disclosures Christian Smith has made to an immeasurable number of individuals over the years about his adventures as a fantasy practitioner.
On 06.03.25, a Freedom of Information request (FOI) was responded to by the HCPC's governance department who confirmed that Christian Smith (birth date and several name variations such as married name / middle names were provided to them), is not and never has been registered with them as a paramedic or any other protected title.
On 11.03.25, The HCPC contacted Mr Smith following an investigation where he agreed that he would no longer use the protected title 'paramedic'.
The HCPC also contacted the Telegraph and Argus newspaper where it was referenced in an article that he was a 'trained paramedic' and asked them to remove this reference, which thankfully they now have.
Between 2022 and 2023, Christian Smith frequently verbally identified himself to staff and customers of Scuba Leeds Limited as a 'deregistered' paramedic, having allegedly worked as a heli-medic, critical care medic, emergency medicine medic, and to some, a former army medic with time served over seas in combat ‘saving lives’.
Christian Smith has infact never been a combat medic and has never been enlisted into HM Forces. This has been thoroughly checked by current serving personnel.
Mr Smiths declaration in relation to becoming HCPC ‘de-registered’ was made following a line of questioning (witnessed by many) from a suspicious customer who worked as part of a local NHS crew. His responses prompted query and concern from several staff present not only within scuba, but additionally others working in various areas of healthcare who concluded his stories either didn't add up or didn't make sense given his age, education, and where he was living through-out key years of his young and adult life.
Christian Smith has repeatedly claimed FMT has supplied the NHS with ‘Millions of pounds’ worth of PPE, yet we can find no record of this as his company accounts do not, in any capacity, reflect or support his claims.
We have extensively exhausted all avenues and have not been able locate a single person or piece of information that evidences or supports Mr Smiths claims of owning or running any ambulances, either domestically or overseas. This includes the fleet of vehicles and a boat his website advertises he has for event cover.
With no other limited companies registered to Mr Smith, and no reflection in the financial accounts of First Medical Training Limited, it has been concluded that his claims about his ‘ambulances’ which he alleges he supplies to the National Health Service are on the balance of probability, equally untrue.
Furthermore, we are also unable to verify claims made be First Medical Training Limited that they are an ‘international training agency’ and this has been passed to Trading Standards to investigate along with several other spurious and potentially misleading web claims.
Mr Smith does not own any scuba diving centres (at least bricks and mortar anyway) either domestically or abroad.
Articles have now been published accordingly across various channels bearing information relating to Christian Smiths proven antics as a warning to those who may have engaged his services under the belief that he was or is a former Paramedic. All disclosures are supported in full by evidence and witness testimony.
I would ask anyone who remains unsure as to the status (both current and historic) of Christian Smith or FMT to contact the HCPC where they will be more than happy to confirm the above.
Any attempt to obtain employment subject to a false disclosure could be an offence of fraud by false representation contrary to the Fraud Act 2006.
Anyone who believes they have engaged the services of either Christian Smith or First Medical Training under the illusion of him being a former paramedic is urged to report this to the relevant authorities.
Christian Smith has now removed ‘critical care medic’ references from his social media, including instagram, and I need not explain to any party what ‘critical care’ refers to or infers.
The fact remains that individuals have been historically deceived by Christian Smith across the Healthcare sector which FMT procures its business. This is the basis and necessity for this review, to allow anyone who engages the services of FMT from here on in to do so with transparency, full disclosure and at their own peril
Fantasist, Walter Mitty Paramedic
First Medical Training or FMT, is a company built entirely on dishonesty, deception and fantasy.
To understand this, you need to have had dealings with Walter Mitty Director Christian Smith, who has claimed to many in our industry to have been a former paramedic, army medic, heli-medic, critical care paramedic, millionaire, employer of 500 staff and many other puzzling yet rightfully impressive accolades.
Unfortunately, Mr Smith claims to be now ‘de-registered’ when asked by concerned admin staff as to his expansive medical employment history, so conveniently, to his benefit, is not showing as visible on the HPC’s website and is unverifiable.
It has come to our attention that Mr Smith also has an equally as colourful history within the diving industry, having historically expressed intent to purchase 3 separate scuba diving businesses.
Investigations would suggest that Mr Smith duly failed to deliver any funds for these purchases leaving them and their respective directors in serious financial turmoil following swathes of excuses and months of preparation and negotiations.
Scuba Leeds Limited (now ceased trading having gone out of business), was Mr Smiths latest venture as interim manager / potential buyer, but he was removed from position by the director following allegations of theft, financial mis-management, inappropriate behaviour and failing to complete a sale by the deadline which he was given.
Mr Smiths recklessness left Scuba Leeds Limited, during his short 6 month tenure, with almost £80,000 worth of company debt, having took over his position prior with the company only owing a mere £5,000 or so.
In summary, First Medical Training Limited does not employ or contract 500 staff. Nor does it have a network of 500 instructors. Its is a small company, employing less than 3 people with the lead instructor being Mr Smith himself who is sadly nothing short of a serial fantasist. Companies House does not align with his claims.
In the week of Friday 2nd August, Mr Smith on First Medical Training’s Facebook page claims to have delivered CPD dental training to 2887 professionals. This is simply not true.
Furthermore concerning is that there are various allegations from dental nurses in our industry pertaining to the fact that Mr Smith has aggressively romantically pursued them whilst instructing at their practices, telling them, like me, about his fake experiences and qualifications with a view to impressing them. His behaviour has raised serious concern and has led to him being blocked by me and others on all communication channels and rightfully reported.
We have found no evidence to suggest that Mr Smith was ever a paramedic, or that he holds training or knowledge to the level of.
Companies House and Mr Smiths micro accounts further evidence that he is a small company with little turnover (possibly only him and one other employee).
We have extensively investigated Mr Smiths claims that he is the owner of an ambulance company in Saudi Arabia worth £30,000,000 and can find no evidence that either he or any of his associates hold such wealth or interests within any such company or group of.
Please ensure that you do the correct due-diligence on Mr Smith and his companies before utilising any of their services.
Mr Smith, it is about time you substantiated the claims which your business was built on, as securing business based on deception and lies from a career you never had is a criminal offence.
Reported to HPC and Trading Standards.

Top class ILS training delivered at the surgery
We are a dental practice that arranged onsite ILS (Intermediate Life Support) Training (at our dental practice in South Kensington London). The trainer arrived punctually, and was not only thorough but also kept the attendees entertained with light jokes throughout making it a fun experience. Our trainer’s name was Christian and he also happens to be a professional scuba diver! As I am an amateur, I was constantly asking him about the emergencies he’d attended to while diving at sea. It was a memorable learning experience. We will book with them again next year.
Medical Emergency Training
Our dental practice had our annual medical emergency update the course covered the required topics and also a hands on resuscitation element. The instructor was brilliant. Would highly recommend this firm for training.
Brilliant CPR training
Christian delivered a very informative and engaging CPR training session for our GP surgery team. It was great to have a practice with the equipment and all the team felt they learned something new. Will not use another provider.
