On the way to a concert at the Fox in Atlanta an accident involving a car fire shut down all lanes of traffic for hours. We were stuck between the last exit and the car fire for hours and missed the concert. Even though the policy says you are covered if you are directly or indirectly involved in an accident we were not covered because we used our own vehicle which was not one of the accident vehicles nor had a transportation company. The result would have been the same as some of those were stuck with us. Rather than look for ways to assist they look for ways to deny paying for insurance bought in good faith for unforeseen events. Don’t waste your money on Fanshield policies.

I cannot believe how quickly this was resolved. I got the paperwork together, filled out the form, and received a full refund within minutes. I have never seen an insurance company that efficient. We had a complicated weather situation, but that wasn't an issue. My advice is just to keep your paperwork until the event is over, and have it ready to put in. And don't laugh too hard when the last of the 21 possible reasons for requesting a refund is that you attest to being dead!

Terrible System
This requires way too much personal information and data to process a simple refund. I would like all data removed and deleted as soon as my money is refunded. Not worth the peace of mind buying refund insurance when you remove that peace with your multiple hoops to jump through.

I had an unexpected illness/injury occurred during my training cycle for my half marathon. I was disappointed that my doctor's medical opinion required me to miss this race. However, under going the process of filing the claim to obtain a refund was easy and not time consuming. There were super clear instructions explaining the steps I needed to go through and the supporting documentation I needed to provide.

FanShield was so quick to process my claim and give me clear options for my refund.

Pretty easy to follow instructions for cancellation. Thanks!

This was a very smooth experience! We got sick and could not make our run that was planned and I received the approval and email for payment to be transferred the same day that I requested the refund! Now just waiting for It to hit my account in a few days. Very easy! Thank you!

Requires too much personal information. Limited payment options results in fees.

Do Not buy FanShield ticket insurance!! I wish I would have read reviews before purchasing. I wanted to surprise my husband and daughter for Christmas with tickets to Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. We live in Mississippi. Purchased the tickets with insurance. For personal reasons we can’t make the trip. FanSheild has denied my refund claim twice even with proper documentation. It’s a hassle and so frustrating. A scam!

I bought this insurance in good faith. I didn't intend to have to use it. Refused refund because I didn't request it 30 days in advance of the show. My sister was in a fatal car accident recently. Her memorial service is to be held on the same day of the show.

The only problem are the hoops I had to jump through to get the refund. I had to send an email of the hotel reservation, copies of our airline tickets, and proof our flight was cancelled. Are you kidding me??? It shouldn’t even matter why I cancelled, since I had paid $20 extra just for that reason!!! It left a bad taste in my mouth! Because that’s the company they use, I won’t be booking at that hotel again.

It was a cumbersome process with hidden fees to get a refund.

There wasn't a way to find out what documentation was needed to submit in order to get my refund. This info should be readily available. It also wasn't clear that race protection only covers very specific instances and when it is promoted as an option by NYRR this isn't very clear.

Email given for assistance is invalid. I’ve received nothing regarding next step for my refund and it’s been over 24 hours.

I was surprised how easy it was to file my claim, and how fast I received my money after it was processed! Definitely worth it to add the coverage for the “just incase” peace of mind.
