Surprisingly good and impressive, still evolving
I thought that, with the name “Emma” and the teddy bear icon, the app would be lightweight and superficial. I used Moneydance for 12 years but they didn’t enbrace open banking and their IoS apps were very poor. I’ve been with Emma 10 days now, and no more manual downloading of data! I’m finding ways of doing pretty much everything a more heavyweight programme does. But because the programme has to fit on a phone screen, which can’t display a big range of data, it does mean drilling down in paths that often aren’t intuitive. I have found the answers in ChatGPT. I looked up Emma’s ownership and was surprised and impressed to find that the accessible guy on the helpdesk, Edoardo, is actually one of the 2 designers and still a major shareholder. I do hope the app is profitable.

Easy!
It’s a nifty app that’s super helpful. Easy to
navigate and quick to learn
Excellent replacement for Pocket Money app.
I used to use Pocket Money to track my spending but it is no longer supported. Took a punt on Emma and it does everything I need and more. Auto upload of transactions from my account is a huge positive. Also so is the budgeting part.
So far so good!
Kevin again! He was brilliant. Had an issue with a bank only giving access to 4 months data and not a whole year. He relentlessly guided me through the process to rectify this a number of times. Unfortunately we couldn't resolve it but that's the bank's fault not Emma's. Set up and allocating categories takes time but 'you get out what you put it'. It can tell me lots about my spending and how I can start now to plan changes. Years ago I used Excel to do much the same but it took ages. Emma is so much better. The support I have received has been amazing and although there are a few things it won't do I'm going to make some feature recommendations and hope they listen. I'm sure it's going to easily save me the subscription amount.
Facebook and
Awful
Awful, complete con. Ironically, the only subscription I have been paying without my knowledge was to Emma app. I have been trying to speak to them via their customer service chat for days and still have no reply. Complete con.

Help me refund my money
Help me refund my money, even though I cancelled the free trial a bit late.
So supportive and provided great support chat with a human.
Some feature not available
Some feature not available. Great concept but not complete
Excellent tool
Excellent tool to quickly analyse all my accounts in one place.
Worst app experience ever. AVOID
I can't work out what's worse - the app or their customer service. in spite of paying for the premium service - the data is only sync'd 4 times a day - this means that it could be wrong for 99% of the time. If you are over 70 - maybe this app is for you. For anyone under that AVOID this awful app
Edit: the 4 times a day sync was only mentioned in the t&c’s AFTER signing up Anything else ? yes I asked 3 times for a refund but you refused. So a useless app and a no refund policy? not sure

Very useful budgeting app
Very useful budgeting app that allows you to connect all your debit and credit cards, and even add existing loans and therefore show your current net worth.
Once you're out of the debt you can plan investing through the app too.
Worth checking out!
The free features of the app are quite…
The free features of the app are quite good. It mainly shows you your balance though, which you can see in most online banking apps these days.
Avoid being Financially Exploited
I strongly advise against using Emma. The service offers no real benefit over what your bank already provides — yet charges an extortionate fee . I am not seeing any money saved, no meaningful insights, and absolutely nothing worth paying for.
To make things worse, cancelling is deliberately confusing. You think you’ve cancelled, but later realise you haven’t — and they will charge you for the full year before having the chance to cancel. Their customer service is unhelpful, making it incredibly difficult to resolve anything.
Judging by other reviews, I’m not alone and so annoyed I have had to award even one star.
Avoid this app unless you want to be ripped off for nothing in return.
Love this app
Love this app, it really helps me keep a little aside for emergencies
It's an awful app, don't use it
It's an awful app! You withdraw something a d have to wait 45 days for it to not turn up and they don't help you when help is needed
