Support is superb and very quick. All our issues have been resolved by very helpful and knowledgeable people. The platform itself suits us very well and we have been using it exclusively for 6 years
Great product and team affordable and simple. I can't recommend this app enough - they just have a great product for an affordable price and a nice team. What else is there to say?
Easy to use for maintaining our mailing list, composing and scheduling emails and viewing stats. As a small non profit the free version is just right for us. The scheduled sending of emails is very useful: we can plan for them to go at the best time.
After a lot of research, I found EmailOctopus is the only putative replacement for MailChimp that actually is a good replacement. So far I've found that almost everything I used to do in MailChimp (create and send newsletters to our membership, send emails to targeted segments, manage the member database) I can do just as easily in EmailOctopus.
I love this website so much for creating my email campaign. I use it every day and I don’t know what I would do without it if you’re looking for a platform to send an email and Mass this is the perfect place for you. Definitely recommend coming here to send an email.
I have had my laptop for over 2 months now and it has run perfectly from day 1. Its fast and reliable. It has many configuration options. I use it mainly for photo editing and it does it easily. I am happy to recommend Aftershock as a reliable and trustworthy company
The application is easy to use. I love creating my newsletter on the application.
Easy to use platform, tutorials for things I have questions on.
By far the best, most intuitive, easiest to navigate and set up, email marketing tools out there. Tried many others, nothing compares. Also, you get that personal touch from the team, you talk to real humans, which is rare nowadays. 100% recommend!
I've worked with many newsletter platforms and I have to say that Email Octopus has been the best by far.
It's easy to use, has lots of features and is affordable.
As we sell local food so we decided we should have local email marketing. We switched from mailchimp and have not looked back. We saved at least 50% on our monthly spend. EmailOctopus is easy to use and the support is good and quick.
We highly recommend them, and if you're in Tonbridge on the 2nd Sunday of the month pop by and get some local produce.
EmailOctopus is a great UK-based alternative to MailChimp. The interface used to be a bit clunky, but they've improved it recently and frequently add new features to make the user experience and functionality even better.
Excellent service and product quality.
As my business has grown to nearly 15,000 active subscribers, I needed a reliable platform I could trust for email delivery. EmailOctopus stood out immediately.
The recent redesign is impressive, and it’s clear the team is continuously improving the platform. It’s fast, dependable, and intuitive to use.
Overall, I feel very confident in my decision and expect to remain a long-term customer.
Email Octopus has the best customer service - consistently! This is a major value for me.
I had a very poor experience using this platform, primarily due to how content review and campaign approvals are handled, and more importantly, the level of customer service.
My campaign was fully prepared and ready to send, yet it was held for review without any clear explanation. For a platform that presents itself as automated, the process felt slow, manual, and unnecessarily restrictive. That is a serious problem when you are running time-sensitive campaigns and expect the system to function as advertised.
When I reached out, I received this response:
“We were just about to approve your campaign for sending, but it sounds like you don't wish to continue with our platform.”
I was also told:
“If we're on the receipt of abuse, it sadly might not lead to the most productive of outcomes.”
Those responses speak for themselves. If the campaign was about to be approved, then it should have been approved. Instead, it was stopped because their feelings were hurt when i called them out on the antiquated process, and the issue was never resolved. Rather than fixing something that appeared straightforward, the situation was allowed to stall and ultimately fail. From a user perspective, that reflects a breakdown in both process and accountability.
To be clear, this was a test. I have 2,700 contacts, and I used 1,500 of them to evaluate the platform before committing financially. That test alone failed, which made the decision not to move forward very easy.
Getting this message is completely confusing and makes no sense while you can tell it was done using AI or ChatGPT which proves they really do not care: “We could have done better, but we're also not here to be sworn at while we pay to bring you a service.”
I have no idea what it even means that they are paying us for the service, but the response itself comes across as odd, as if they think they’re doing us a favor, when there are plenty of other platforms that would never treat a client this way
More importantly, this was not a single-use scenario. We represent 18 companies that could have become long-term accounts if the platform had worked as expected. Instead, there was never a point where the product was demonstrated to function reliably, even once. That is one core issue.
The platform claims to be automated, but in practice it relies heavily on manual intervention. That creates delays, bottlenecks, and unnecessary friction. When something goes wrong, there is no clear or efficient path to resolution, which makes it difficult to trust for any serious use.
Customer service is where the problem becomes most obvious. There was no real effort to resolve the issue, no attempt to move things forward, and no indication that the user experience was a priority. Instead of fixing the problem, the interaction felt dismissive and unproductive. That is the core issue. They do not care about their clientele and will use their so-called power against them, as they did with us.
Overall, the platform comes across as outdated, overly controlled, and not aligned with what users expect from a modern system. Based on this experience, it is difficult to rely on and not something I would use at any of my companies.
BTW, it should be understood that we spent over two hours creating the actual newsletter. That effort and use of time does not just come out of nowhere. We could have been doing work that drives progress, but instead they introduced a review process without notifying us of any issues until after the newsletter was completed and designed.
They also seemed to place blame on the mailing list itself, even though those contacts were added days earlier. If the list needed to be reviewed, that should have been done at the time of import. It should not be raised after we’ve already spent hours designing and preparing the campaign, only to be told it is under review and then ultimately halted.
If anyone thinks it is a good idea to give a company this level of control, they should think carefully. Based on this experience, it appears that decisions can be made in a way that directly impacts your ability to use the platform, even after being told the campaign was about to be approved. That creates uncertainty and makes it difficult to rely on the system.
This is a business. It is not some game like they treat it, playing with your work and time.
Even though I am done now, being forced to write this note and reply to them is time-consuming. This is another 20 to 30 minutes wasted because of this company.
This is in reply to that letter: Not on a free plan—that’s false and undermines these claims. Campaign was blocked after build with no clear notice. A “9 min review” proves failure, not success. Confusion didn’t cause this—the platform did. User sending campaign shows intent; failure was execution, not user error.

I love the free nature of EmailOctopus. As an educational non-profit, it is a lifesaver for me. The user interface is a bit of a learning curve, but once you have your template set up, it works! I recommend it to anyone who asks and the idea that you can have more contacts that "the big guys" is so helpful.

The user interface is clean, simple, intuitive and fast.
Best part though is that you can chat with a real human quickly to get the help you need. And they're friendly. I had a great experience with both reps that I spoke with.

EmailOctopus is super intuitive to use! First time having to do email newsletters, and I've never felt lost using it. Thank you, it's super handy!
