I chose a 3-day trial subscription for ultra on May 22. After 2 hours I saw it would not work for me due to problems with my vision. On May 25 I received a notice I had been billed $99. When I told them I had cancelled they told me I should have cancelled on Google Play but I initiated the trial on the elevenlabs website, not Google Play. I notified them and this started a series of being sent from one support team who would then refer me to another. I contested the charge with mybank. I received an email saying "it looks like your problem was been resolved and you won't be billed GOING FORWARD" I replied asking for the refund of $99. The said they couldn't find the invoice. I sent them the invoice. Next I was shuffled in circles and would be twice directed to the "help page". The link took me to "this page does not exist". I'm 76 and disabled. They have definitely decided not to refund my money in spite of providing them with documentation. This was deliberately dishonest. The actual product looked like a good one but not suited to my vision problems. It is now June 4 and they have not complied with my request for a refund and I've already spent hours trying to resolve it. This is not only poor customer service. It is purposely deceitful is a reflection of a company that has no respect for common decency.

If you are a content creator looking for a reliable, professional voice clone to streamline your workflow, look elsewhere.
I signed up for ElevenLabs to create a voice clone for my YouTube channel's presentations. The output was a complete disaster—unusable, robotic, and completely missed the mark on a natural cadence. Because the quality was so poor, I immediately requested a cancellation and refund.
Their support response was an absolute joke. They refused the refund, hiding behind a "Terms of Service" loophole claiming my request "exceeded the character limit."
Let’s be clear about how this trap works: You have to actually use characters to test the voice clone and realise it sounds terrible. But the moment you use those characters to discover their product doesn't work, you instantly disqualify yourself from getting your money back.
It is a completely predatory, rigged system designed to lock you into paying for a broken product. Terrible customer service, deceptive refund policies, and a highly overrated tool. Save your hard-earned money and use an offline alternative that actually respects its users.

ElevenLabs is charging an absolute fortune, 99.00 a month and somehow the restrictions keep getting tighter every month. It’s like they want creators to pay premium prices for bargain‑bin access.

The text to image feature? One hit and you’re done. That’s not a feature, that’s a tease. And if you want to use a reference image, forget it. That’s locked behind yet another paywall. Everything you click on feels like: “Nice try, now pay more.”

It’s wild how AI companies think they can charge sky high prices while giving you less and less freedom. For what they’re asking, you could get every major streaming service and still have change left over, and at least those don’t lock you out after one use.

I attended the hackathon event organised by the Budapest office of Elevenlabs. They said that they were providing free credit for participants, which I received. To start using it, they asked me to add a payment method. I added my debit card. After that, I never used the platform/service again. They keep trying to charge me and I can't cancel this or remove my card details from their platform. You won't even be able to delete your account. The customer support team just replies with generic responses and doesn't focus on the exact issue. Be careful!

Great tool for generating realistic voiceovers quickly and easily.

Although the response to your inquiry was delayed somewhat, I am glad to be able to provide a satisfactory answer.

For your reference, I recommend that you do not rush when recording voice recordings and record little by little when you are feeling well.

i went to try dubbing. I uploaded a video that is 1 minute and asked to hear it in 4 languages. All part of the trial i am allowed to do for dubbing.

it blocked me in the middle of working saying I abused the free tier, and to pay and stop abusing the system.

so internal checks are done by ai.
they will stop your workflow EVEN IF YOU ARE ON A PAID TIER AND HAVE CREDITS

AND NO ONE BUT AI WILL RESPOND

No solution, no customer service, mistaken abuse flags and now I am not working this weekend.

Ironically... id have to make a new account and use the free tier to get back to work so what did your flag even do but force the only solution CHEATING AND MAKING ANOTHER ACCOUNT... AI flags blocked a paying customer... because i might be getting too many free things... i didn't even get 1 sample free thing before it blocked me...

I signed up just to record a short voicemail greeting, and then I was immediately told that free usage had been blocked and that I would have to pay before I could use it.

When I firt started using ElevenLabs a few years ago, I was impressed with how close my AI voice was to mine and how easy it was to copy and paste a story onto the site to create an audio version. Then as new voice versions were updated, my AI voice changed abd became robotic. Now, having started using the software again, the volume changes with each paragraph. If a quote is written followed by "he shrieked, he yelled," or some sign of emotion, the AI audio is created with a hideous screamed phrase. Every do-over to fix the issue burns up credits. The product has made me more angry than it is worth using it.

He/she was really helpful and kind. I had very low expectations. I thought my dumb ass was screwed. but i got some incredible help and got people who really truly understood my situation and helped me accordingly.

The voices are okay and all but the web site works really bad. Always when you leave any logged-in page open in ElevenLabs and restart your machine, so that Chrome automatically tries to open the logged-in page, the whole page stops working until the next day. This has happened so many times. So many times. It's like the end of working for that day. I recommend taking some other voice over service.

I'd start with what I dislike. To my surprice, elevenlabs took back my remaining credits because I canceled my subscription like I did'nt pay for it. I paid for those credits but they left me the choice of forfieting my remaining credits which Id consider as bad customer management.
I enjoyed using flows for my worklow and thats the good part but sadly, I can get the service somewhere else. y'all need to do better. The Ai business is a highly competitive one

It's unrivaled in terms of voice cloning quality and TTS (Text Processing Speed) generation speed. My only complaint is that there's almost a 50% loss in intonation during speech. For example, at the end of a sentence, the voiceover ends on the last word as if the sentence were continuing. It's like the speech was interrupted while it was still ongoing. If the speech tone were always as it should be during comma and period transitions, it would be a truly flawless experience. However, even in its current state, it's still the best.

Once I got to a real person (thank you Kris) the service was fabulous.

BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, please allow one to submit a ticket directly. Your AI chatbot could not open a separate tab on my browser, nor could it help me get around that.

Perplexing to use. I don't understand any aspect of it. It's a very confusing programme. I wish I hadn't bothered. I suspect I won't get my money back either. Steer clear.

Needed assistance with our subscription and billing , Kris from Elevenlabs was super helpful and understanding and sorted our situation really quickly so that we could meet a deadline for the project. Elevenlabs was really reasonable to deal with, so not only is it a great website and set of ai tools, the service is fantastic too!

The solution is best in class for AI voice APIs. The transcription API also works really well with non native English accents. The SDKs are simple to integrate and have great documentation. Highly recommend.
