Downloaded because my voice was dodgy and I needed to record a voice message. Logged out of the app every 2 minutes. My own voice sounded very robotic reading the scripts. I edited the voice. And worked on but when used in scripts changed to USA accent then UK accent. Then all voices disappeared from my library.
8 hours I spent!! No result just frustration.

This company's subscription model is predatory. Be very careful about how you use their subscription model. I was using the Creator Plan for a while with no issues. Got a big contract that seemed like upgrading to the Pro plan might be necessary and generally wanted to see the difference.

After attempting to upgrade to Pro, I didn't realise my account had insufficient funds due to direct debits that came out that day. Like MOST services, it should just revert back to normal.

ElevenLabs LOCKED ME OUT of my active Creator Plan with credits I needed to use as I was working on a project to be delivered the next day. Upgrading was a big mistake and looked for support to rectify the issue.

I was in a panic with no human agent to talk to, just an AI chatbot that directed my request to support, which would take over 24 hrs to respond to. Searched on the net, and someone said you get a quicker response in Discord; that wasn't true. I found a support email and sent one saying I needed my account restored and didn't require the Pro Plan, a subject heading saying URGENT reply needed.

I was left with no access to my credits and a pending payment that had declined I couldn’t revert. I was forced to create a new account just to complete what I needed done in the hope I'd get a response the next day. I got nothing!!

They waited until they could take my money weeks later and then sent me an uninformative reply saying the issue was resolved. Resolved by taking the cash – very shady business practice. I feel scammed, and it's left a bad taste in my mouth, questioning whether I will keep using them. As for the way they run the credit usage, rapid credit depletion and custom voice multipliers have confirmed my suspicion.

What they have developed is great, but the subscription, credit expiration and reset model is a scam. I never usually bother writing bad reviews, but this got me angry, and I needed to warn everyone.

Is ElevenLabs out of business?
Came as a new paying customer, got excited about all the magical claims they make before charging, got pro level subscription. Tried to produce audios. After wasting ~400k credits, zero delivery, unusable audio with voice layovers and bugs, also unseen level of arrogance in how bot communicates. Bot insisted itself i reach out to Customer care several times (have screenshots). I sent 6 written feedbacks with screenshots. I sent several emails. ZERO reply. Looking into cap table of Elevenlabs, i am super shocked at a level of total neglect and carelessness to service.

Impressively fast response to our support request.

Reality from 1 hr of my time trying to generate a simply video audio social media clip that consumed 29,000 credits in under 2 minites and only provided 8 frames

To submitting a support ticket that lead to a voice chat with AI agent and they provided multiple instances of incorrect and misleading information advising their system does not have video capbaioirty only audio and lip sync to then literally 30 seconds later ohh yes we can meet that brief providing both video and audio and lipsync

the call unexpectedly drops out i call again and the ai agent answers with no record of the previous conversation so i start all over to explain my sitation then the call drops out

i call back third time same as above starting over again and mid way through the voice changes from man to woman she asking me hello how can i help you .....

i now insist onspeakingb to a live persaon she puts me through before she does i clarify is it an ai agent again or a live human she insists its a humna i ask several time and she is adement its a human full versed in all support related matters

she transfers me and i ask if they are human and they advise no i am an AI agent i explain the female ai agent who i was conversing with just moments ealier assured me several times that i will be speaking with a humamn, this AI agent advised me that AI agents are not capable of transfering me to a human the best they can offer is fill out the online form and submit it and it will be priorotisied sand you you receive a support respopnse to resolve your issues. I asked can you assumre me the respnse will be sent by a human or an AI agent they advise no, its most likley will be an AI agent you will be communicagting with over email

As now given the above have no faith or convidence in anything an elevenlabs AI agent advises then there is little point taking the support matter further.

Out of all the AI video generation tools I’ve tried, ElevenLabs is probably the best of the bunch. Unfortunately, that’s not saying much.

I’ve spent around £40 on credits and have very little to show for it. Between this week and last week, I’ve wasted approximately 11 hours trying to generate videos that should have been relatively straightforward.

The biggest issue is that the platform simply doesn’t follow instructions consistently.

For example, I repeatedly asked it to create a vortex effect where pages were sucked into a phone screen. I explained it multiple ways, refined the prompts, simplified the prompts, and even removed unnecessary detail. Instead of pulling the pages into the screen, it repeatedly threw them outwards and dropped them onto the floor.

I also tried creating a transition between two images. The task was incredibly simple. Keep everything identical and only transition from one image to the next. Despite numerous attempts and increasingly restrictive prompts, it continued creating new images, inventing new logos, adding random animations, pressing buttons that didn’t exist, and changing things I specifically instructed it not to change.

The irony is that the more specific I became, the worse the results often got.

The UGC selfie videos were reasonably good. However, even then there were odd moments. In one video, the AI actor randomly quacked at the end for absolutely no reason. I have no idea where that came from.

My conclusion is that these tools are fine for generating basic talking head content, voiceovers, and simple visual concepts. If you don’t have a product that requires precision, they may be useful.

However, if you’re trying to market an app, create accurate product demonstrations, maintain brand consistency, or produce detailed motion graphics, the experience becomes frustrating very quickly. The technology still struggles with relatively simple instructions and often decides to create its own interpretation instead.

After spending money, credits, and hours trying to make it work, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s often cheaper, faster, and more reliable to create the content yourself. At least when a human edits a video, the result is predictable.

At the current price point, I don’t think the value is there. The platform shows a lot of promise, but the amount of wasted credits caused by inaccurate generations makes it difficult to justify continuing to use it.

Unfortunately, I won’t be returning as its expensive using something that doesnt work and I am a founder using my own money. My business is not generating any money so Im using my monthly earnings from my main job. This is too expensive for such poor quality

The pricing model is aggressive for what you actually get. Credits burn fast, the plans jump in cost dramatically between tiers, and the output quality doesn't justify any of it

The understanding of the support team of my sutiation and the speed of the responding were much better than i expected.

I am very unhappy with the product and extremely frustrated with the lack of response/service. In attempting to do an audiobook, I find sections repeated and sections cut off so that it is not coherent. I cannot possibly accept this! I have emailed them 10x at their correct email address to no avail. A few days ago, the AI bot gave me yet another email address that does not work and tells me it will get someone to contact me about my issues. No one has. The reporting sheet will not submit; it keeps asking me for things I've already entered, like my email address and does not allow me to enter "issue." Now I want to cancel my subscription and again I cannot find a clear-cut way to do this.I am at wirs' end!

I wanted to make an audiobook from my own e-book script. I found a good (danish) voice on the platform for the purpose, and it sounded great in the preview. Problem is though, that the exact same voice is totally twisted for the worse, when I use it in the dedicated audiobook studio section in Elevenlabs. I has a strange english accent to the danish prenunciation. I wrote an email explaining my issues, and they did not even care to respond. I spent a lot of time trying all sorts of things in Elevenlabs to make it work. No succes so far but it has "eaten" away a big chunck of my credits. Totally waste of good money. I don´t recommend Elevenlabs if you have the same needs as I have. In my opinion it is a terrible mistake not to answer your paying customers. Bye bye. I will have to find a more reliable service.
Days later: Now I finally got in contact with Elevenlabs. They do admit the problem, but they are not willing to refund even though they now know, that the service they provide is useless for my specific needs. Even though my subscription is soon ending, they offered me a top up of credits. Credit for a service that I can´t use. That is pure ignorance... It is completely false marketing, as they promise that it works like a charm with Danish as well. Please don´t go there. I am now on the search for a serious service with a professional team behind......

Unanswered support ticket #624739 – credits consumed by defective output

I am a paying customer who has produced 100+ guided meditation audio files on ElevenLabs Studio. A batch of renders came out defective and had to be fully re-generated, consuming a significant amount of additional credits through no fault of mine.

I submitted formal ticket #624739 requesting a goodwill credit reimbursement — not a payment refund — and have sent multiple emails over [timeframe, e.g., the past several weeks]. None have received a human response. The phone number provided routes to an AI agent that cannot resolve billing matters and does not transfer to a person.

The product itself is excellent, which is why I have invested so heavily in it. But there is currently no functioning path to reach a human being for a legitimate, itemized billing issue.

ElevenLabs: please have a human agent from the billing/credits team review ticket #624739 and respond to bosurgiatgmail.com. I will gladly update this review once the matter is resolved.

Prompt Customer Service response, escalation, and fair resolution. User education and guidance provided added value in addressing not just the immediate need but also in mitigating potential future issues.

Keitha and the support team at ElevenLabs provided truly exceptional customer service while helping me solve a complicated issue with my book's dynamic narration on ElevenReader.

The problem was a persistent, hard-to-pinpoint sync error that only affected one voice (Burt Reynolds) and involved the voice reading text I had already deleted. Despite the complexity of the bug and the need for multiple rounds of testing and re-publishing, Keitha was fantastic from start to finish.

She was incredibly patient, escalated my case to the tech team immediately, and worked with me over multiple weeks until the issue was fully resolved. She ensured all my other minor edits were approved quickly and kept me informed every step of the way. Knowing she was actively following up and advocating for an expedited review made a huge difference to my launch plans.

Customer support service is great, they helped me very quick and efficiently.

I swear to god, this is the 4th time I've renewed, and I'm either going mad or I've figured something out.

Once you're under 5000 credits it literally dumbs itself down to make you burn it and renew.

Apart from that, it's done everything I need to do. It does like to ignore full stops, periods, dashes, pauses. But it's great.
