1-Star Review
1-Star Review: Absolute Garbage – Eero Ruined My Life and My Wallet
DO NOT BUY EERO. EVER. This is the single worst tech purchase I have ever made in my 40+ years on this planet, and I’ve owned everything from dial-up modems to enterprise Cisco gear. Eero isn’t a “mesh Wi-Fi system” – it’s a $400+ paperweight factory that pretends to deliver internet while actively sabotaging your sanity.
First, the “internet service” (lol). I bought the top-tier Eero Pro 6E tri-band system with the supposed “Eero Plus” subscription for “advanced security and premium support.” What I got was a network that drops every 15-45 minutes like clockwork. Streaming? Buffering hell. Video calls? “Sorry, your connection is unstable” every single meeting. Gaming? Forget it – latency spikes to 800ms and packet loss so bad my teammates thought I was rage-quitting on purpose. Speed tests that promised 900+ Mbps consistently delivered 40-80 Mbps on a good day, and zero on a bad one. My old 2018 Netgear router that cost $60 crushed this garbage.
But the routers themselves? Defective doesn’t even begin to describe it. All three units started failing within 60 days. One died completely – no lights, no reset, dead as a brick. The second kept overheating and rebooting itself every hour. The third developed a lovely habit of broadcasting a hidden SSID that hijacked every device in the house and throttled everything to dial-up speeds. I RMA’d them TWICE. Both replacement batches arrived DOA or died within weeks. Amazon/Eero knows these things are lemons – they’re just pumping out defective hardware and hoping you give up.
Now the customer service – the absolute cherry on this dumpster-fire sundae. These people are trained to gaslight you into oblivion.
2+ hour wait times on the phone.
Chat agents who copy-paste the same “try a factory reset” script even after I sent them 17 screenshots proving I’d already done it 50 times.
When I finally got a “supervisor,” he literally laughed and said “most customers don’t experience this” while I was describing my $1,200+ in wasted hardware and three months of lost productivity.
They refused a full refund after the second set of dead routers, offered me a “one-time 20% off another Eero purchase” like I’m stupid enough to buy more.
Escalated to executive support? Crickets for three weeks, then an email blaming my ISP (who has zero issues with any other device in the house).
I spent over $1,400 total (hardware + subscription + two RMA shipping fees) for a system that made my internet WORSE than the free router my ISP gave me. My entire household now fights over who has to sit next to the single Ethernet cable like it’s 1998. I’ve lost clients, missed deadlines, and aged ten years from the stress.
Eero isn’t just bad. It’s maliciously incompetent. Their marketing is a lie, their hardware is defective junk, and their support exists only to wear you down until you shut up and eat the loss. Save your money, your time, and your mental health – buy literally anything else. TP-Link, Asus, even a 10-year-old router from eBay would be an upgrade.
Never again. 0/10. I would give negative stars if I could. Stay far, far away.
Help with dad's internet
I don't know the man's name but he was very helpful and managed to sort out my dad's internet after I had to reset the router due to scammers getting in it.
Thank you, this was yesterday evening about 7pm

Sylvia did a great job at patiently walking our customer through troubleshooting his connectivity when it come to the Eero 6 routers and a Dura Solar System.
Absolute garbage
Absolute garbage. It was sold to me by misleading advertising. This thing was supposed to connect all my ring products, but it didn't apply to my outdoor security camera.
When I searched the internet to see if I could connect it, guess what? They have an exterior eero as well. My existing wifi is brilliant, but this thing only does what the wifi provider router was already doing. I might just smash it up,and video it for YouTube for all to see! Shysters!
Not what I was led to believe.
Firstly, there are no user manuals included with the device. Trying to find one online (google search) proved fruitless. There’s a support line but as a non verbal person, making a call to the support line is useless.
Secondly, setup (once I found that I needed to have Bluetooth turned on) was relatively easy.
Thirdly (and I am computer savvy), blocking devices is really hard. Try to find what’s connected to the internet is very much hit and miss. There’s only a MAC address shown for each device and NOT all devices are showing up on the list of unassigned connected addresses.
Fourth, to prevent users from accessing inappropriate sites (along with a few other options) costs $160 per year. Now if I can’t work out what device is on and connected, this doesn’t help me.
Outstanding Customer Support
So, I had recently upgraded to the EERO Pro 7 router and 7 extenders to add to my EERO 6 mesh system. I am on spectrum, so you never know how performance will be. I was experiencing terrible lag, disconnect issues etc. Finally,I assumed it was spectrum, they came out, ran every test, tweaked the line, provided a new modem, the works. Nothing, still terrible. Finally, I spoke with Malichi from EERO support, and later Darl from support.
Both of them were patient and outstanding, Malichi worked with me on the phone directly for 2.5 hours of troubleshooting. 4 hours overall (emails and follow up phone calls)
Ultimately, he determined it to be the router to be defective. They sent a replacement the following day. I was still having issues. I called support and got Darl, she helped me with some general rebooting and troubleshooting. Boom, no more issues. Both my wife and I work from home. This fix was critical and a lifesaver. Please get both of them an attaboy and attagirl.
I appreciate your patience and tenacity to do such a great job and actually fix the issue. Rare to find motivated and invested employees lately. These two were awesome.
Our Eero worked great for about a week
Our Eero worked great for about a week, then it lost connection to our robot vacuum, and our streaming tv service.
We got a replacement Eero box, but that didn’t help. We’re going back to our Frontier WiFi.
Really happy with the instillation…
Really happy with the instillation today of our Eero network. The team were very professional and very helpful. Special mention to Adrian D, Ben C and Iestyn W for their swift and efficient work in the horrendous weather. Highly recommended service and really nice people. Thank you.
Monumentally flawed idea
Monumentally flawed idea. When it inevitably goes down (which it will) you can only fix it by it being linked to the internet of which it obviously isn't. There's literally nothing that can be done I'd this is what it requires.
I bought a eero 6 WiFi and it was great…
I bought a eero 6 WiFi and it was great in the beginning but then failed after 4 months. I power cycle it and its good for a few hrs but then drops signal for both wireless and wired connections. Buy some thing else.
Eero router and extenders
I am using Eero routers and extenders for a Home and Home Office with Wire connection. It works very well, and compared to all the material used before, I have had zero problems, and I have used it for 6 months, about. So glad I changed to that.
No user logs?!
ISP broke their own policy. When collecting evidence for my case I was unable to obtain any logs. Seriously Eero? No user viewable logs? So yeah, the routers don't allow you to view information logs so you can monitor your own network. Disturbing to say the least, why are you hiding them from users?
I will never recommend or further touch anything transmitting Wi-Fi with the Eero brand name or any other brand name under the parent company Amazon for that matter.
Really bad home internet network…
This is the worse home internet network devices I have ever used. If eero would leave my printer connected the system is alright, but I have quit trying to hook my printer up because it will leave for a few days then it moves to an access point a lot further away and so the printer connection drops because the signal is too weak.
Very frustrating eero equipment
Absolute useless Router
The limitations on this bag of infertile bollocks is crazy i honestly wish id never purchased the dam thing not to mention the bloody thing contantly overheating because the designer thought oh i know lets completely enclose the thing with no cooling fan its ok it will be fine the designer and programmer need a good kick in the nadgers. If anyone is thinking of getting one I would seriously consider NOT !!! Go buy yourself something else seriously..
Eero devices lack basic functionality…
Eero devices lack basic functionality such as manually setting the WiFi channel. They say they automatically optimise the channel as an excuse for this. Unfortunately the firmware is shocking bad so be prepared to reboot daily to force a channel change.
Seems fine.
The modem is working fine, good coverage and signal strength over a small terraced house. Needed to call their help desk to assist with the app install, but that was sorted quickly, and all working now.
Installed eero today and after 3 hours…
Installed eero today and after 3 hours I disconnected it from my hub…it is proper useless..my devices kept losing connection and it made my WiFi worse…pure waste of time and money…wtf …who endorses this crap..
At best when it’s working it lies
At best when it’s working it lies. It records speeds much higher than any comparative website and also not reflective of actual use.
I’m in a 1 bed flat and in the last month I suddenly can’t get internet in any other room than the router is in.
I’m with talk talk (just don’t ever) and eero was supplied by them, eero supposedly records information of internet outages but they have no access so it has no point there. It disconnects my devices randomly.
I’m in central London so no reasons why my internet should be poor. Yet talk talk have repeatedly failed me and eero covers it up … all seems like a massive scam to me
Fraudulent billing
I used Eero for a while but canceled my subscription in 2023 after being dissatisfied with the service. Despite having written proof of my cancellation, they charged me again in 2024. I had that payment reversed and assumed it was an honest mistake. However, in 2025, I was billed yet again. At this point, it’s clear this is not an accident but a pattern of fraudulent business practices. BE VERY AWARE!
