We pack and sell the highest-quality hay for small animals in convenient sizes and textures, delivered by carrier on a next-day service. We offer a choice of different types of hay, from soft meadow hay to coarser English and American-grown Timothy hay. Our hay is available in a range of pack sizes, including recyclable boxes and sacks, giving you the flexibility to mix and match different types to suit your animal's needs. Our hay is grown under an organic regime, meaning that no sprays are used during the growing process. Finally, as our name suggests, all our hay goes through a highly efficient dust-removal process that eliminates up to 99% of harmful airborne dust. This process helps improve the quality of the hay and reduces the amount of dust your animal has to breathe in, helping to create a cleaner, healthier environment for you and your animal

I’m extremely disappointed with my…

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience.

I’ve now received multiple batches of hay from Dust Free Hay that had a strong, unusual “fermented” or weed-like smell. At the time I didn’t realise this could indicate spoilage, but after use, both of my rabbits developed diarrhea and repeated gastrointestinal stasis, requiring veterinary treatment.

Nothing else in their diet or environment has changed, and after speaking with my vet, the hay has been identified as the likely cause.

I contacted the company nearly a week ago to raise this as a serious animal welfare concern and have had no response at all, which is very concerning.

Given that this has happened more than once and the impact it has had, I cannot recommend this product at all, nor the company's safeguarding of pets and customer service! Please be cautious and always check hay carefully before use.

You had four boxes of Meadow mix which is soft English hay and American grown Timothy, both are handled and checked before we send out. American Timothy is very rich and may have caused the issue. However it seems you have only made the one purchase from us as we cannot find any previous orders. Sorry it didn’t work for you.

Great hay, website huge let down.

Great hay. Shame about the godawful website. Seriously puts me off ordering and if I could find another company that does the same quality hay I’d switch, just because the website is SO difficult to use. Endless loops, and a 10% chance your order will actually go through. I did email them about this and never got a reply. Seriously sort it out!

One Star for customer service...

Been using DFH for years so I am (or I was) a loyal customer. Found a sock sized lump of dust buried in the middle of my 7kg hay bale which when disturbed broke up and covered all the hay in the bale. Wrote to customer service who asked to see photos of proof, which I sent. I expected an apology and a replacement of the ruined hay. Received a quick one line generic apology, told it must have fell in from the machinery, and told to take the clump out!! Wrote back and said hay was unusable, I was then asked to send video?? Sent video, then received a shirty email saying I had stored the hay incorrectly and it was my fault!! But they would reluctantly send me another bale. I sent a final email saying my hay storage had not changed and that it was the sock sized clump of hay that was the issue and that I should not have had to have an email fight to get a replacement, and should not have been blamed either. Told them their customer service was awful. No reply!!! Sadly I shall now be going else where.

Unfortunate, we try and explain and ask you to do the final check as objects can very occasionally slip past our screening process.
Wasn’t aware of Truspilot posts until this week Aug26! But since you posted this last year I'm pleased to see you have made a further five orders with us. Thankyou for that.

Best quality Hay for Rabbits!

Having been buying hay for our various Rabbits over the years, Dust Free Hay has been my favourite supplier for years. The hay is excellent quality, has much less dust than any other brand we have used and is well priced. They dispatch and delivery very quickly. Our Buns have enjoyed the Timothy, The American Timothy and the Soft Hay and the quality is consistently good.

Bought 8 2kg boxes of American Timothy…

Bought 8 2kg boxes of American Timothy hay. Brilliant hay. Very green. Zero dust, the best hay ive bought. Quick delivery. Ticks all boxes rly but after using 3 boxes I opened a new one to fill my tub up and it was not green. More brown. I thought okay I’ll just use it as bedding cus unfortunately my guinea pigs refuse to eat it. Decided to open the rest of them to make sure they were all good and then found another one that was more brown. I thought maybe there might have been a switch up as the hay was more fine and didint have long stalks like the rest. Contacted them and asked if they could send me 2 new boxes of American Timothy hay. They said it is American Timothy hay and that unfortunately I had received the best and the worst of are hay. They offered a £10 discount instead. after reading a review that dust free hay replaced there hay in the past because it was more brown made me think they would do that for everyone. Im going to be switching back to hay box now as dust free hay is quite expensive and I don’t want to pay the price if it’s not consistent. Hay box isn’t always consistent with quality but the price is far better. 15kg of hay from hay box is £34.95/ and 16kg of dust free hay was £81.48. Unfortunately I just can’t risk paying that much for it not to all be good quality. I understand that hay isn’t always going to be consistent but I bought the dust free hay assuming if it wasn’t consistent then It would be replaced. Which is my fault as dust free hay doesn’t claim that and I assumed it would after reading a review. I’ve only bought it twice now so I can’t confirm whether this is something that happens often but I’d rather not risk it happening again and waste money. I bought two boxes at the start to see whether dust free hay was any good and then 8 after. The only place I’ve found that had consistent green hay was small pets select hay but that was rly dusty. Switched to hay box which is amazing hay, very green if you get a good box but not always consistent . If u haven’t got picky pigs or have the money to replace the hay if you do get a bad box then I recommend dust free hay, at least the American Timothy hay as that’s the only one I have tried.

Edit- I got a email on Sunday 24th of April from dpd to say that my dust free hay order would arrive on Tuesday 26th of April . It arrived Monday 25th of April. I didint order anything and they said they can only offer a 10 pounds discount on my next order, so was quite surprised when I received two very green boxes of hay. Might buy there hay on occasion but I think I’m still going to order from hay box as I Don’t think there going to do this every time I receive a bad box of hay. In the email i sent to them. I accidentally said 5kg boxes instead of 2kg boxes. I got confused with the amount bcs I was so used to buying from hay box. So maybe that made them think I was trying to get more then I actually bought.

Love this company

With 10 guinea pigs to feed, i get through a lot of hay per month - my normal hay supplier was getting slow to dispatch/deliver and the quality of hay was deteriorating. I decided to look elsewhere and came across DustFreeHay - their prices are very good and i only paid just over £1 more than my usual supplier for two large bales. When i spoke to them on the phone, they were very polite and very eager to help - i was assured if i placed my order that day it would be dispatched and delivered the following day. True to form my order was confirmed and a few hours later a tracking number was sent to my registered email address - the very next day i received two large bales of sweet smelling hay - my pigs love it!!!! I will definitely be shopping here again and will make DustFreeHay my regular hay supplier.... Very happy :)
