You traveled from the Netherlands to our clinic in Izmir, Turkey as part of health tourism, and that means a lot to us.

Our patient Mr. Federico who is 38 years old, for the same reason (again due to pectus excavatum) had underwent an operation with open surgery (Ravitch Procedure) in another center 12 years ago, but it had failed and relapsed. Moreover, he had done sports and has hardened his chest. We are happy to have completed this very challenging and risky surgery successfully. The advanced age, history of open surgery in same region and hardened chest were the factors make this operation dedicated. We were able to overcome all these difficulties with closed surgery with the modified MIRPE (Nuss Procedure) using the 4-Bar technique, two diagonal and two parallel, which we had described and published to the literature before. Although our patient had applied to many pectus centers before, they could have not offer him a solution. He traveled from the other side of the world, Australia-Sydney, by three planes and came to Turkey for health tourism. Thank God, he returned home very satisfied on the 10th day of the surgery and wrote this review without any problems, approximately in the 1st month of the surgery.
