About Drift

Written by the company

What is Drift?

Written by the company

Drift is a premium car air freshener subscription service rethinking the way car fragrance lives in modern spaces. Those little travel companions dangling from your rearview mirror? They’ve gone untouched by time. While automotive design has evolved into sleek, refined interiors, traditional car air fresheners have remained dated — both in design and ingredients.
Fragrance is personal. It’s emotional. It should reflect who you are and create a joy-inducing experience, free from questionable chemicals. We believe the scents that fill your car deserve the same intention as the space itself.
Drift creates long-lasting car fresheners using high-quality essential oil blends that are safe for children and pets. Our signature designs pair sustainably sourced alder wood and organic stone with clean, elevated fragrance to complement — not clutter — your interior.
Beyond the road, Drift also offers home fragrance solutions including scent diffusers, candles, and room sprays, extending your signature scent from car to home.
From car scent subscriptions to modern home fragrance, Drift is on a journey to create immersive atmospheres that harmonize with the open road — and with the spaces you live in every day.

I honestly cannot believe how difficult…

I honestly cannot believe how difficult Drift has made it to cancel a subscription. Somehow, I ended up with a subscription attached to an incorrect or nonexistent email address, and for the past three months, I have been trying to cancel the $43 monthly charge. Their response? They supposedly cannot help me.

To make matters even worse, I changed my debit card, yet Drift somehow obtained my new card information and continued charging me. I have checked both Apple Pay and Google Pay, and there is absolutely no subscription listed under either account.

I have repeatedly contacted and begged this company to stop sending their product to my address and stop charging me. The product itself is not even worth the hassle—it only seems to work for about four days anyway. Yet month after month, they continue charging me $43 and sending me a product I no longer want.

This is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. No customer should have to beg a company to cancel a subscription and stop taking their money. I am extremely disappointed with Drift and would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with them. Once they have your payment information, apparently getting them to stop charging you is far more difficult than it should ever be.

Works well but even if you place an order for one time purchase they automatically enter you into monthly subscription. Had to cancel my subscription TWICE. Shady business practice although product is good. Will not continue with this company.

I have been waiting over a month

I have been waiting over a month and a half and my order has still not arrived. They only responded on August 18th saying it’s on its way. It hasn’t updated since August 5th.. it’s September 10th now! I have sent multiple emails and no one is answering anymore. They can’t even attempt a replacement? I could have been a loyal customer but this is insane!

Not easy to cancel

I ordered Drift and then went to cancel any subscriptions. They told me I didn’t have a subscription. Now I got notified that I was getting another order and charge. Contacted them and was told they cancelled my subscription but was too late to block last order. $30 I didn’t agree to. A fraudulent company.

Scammers

Scammers! If you buy it directly from Amazon - you will probably receive your package. Do not deal with their website that ends with “ .co”
They do not even communicate with you. Just charge you money, send you nothing and it is a pain to cancel your subscription, which you never even agreed to.

Unclear subscription sign-up at checkout — be careful

If you’re from the UK I’d encourage you to dispute unwanted subscription charges with your card provider.

I ordered a Stone Car Freshener listed as "Scent of the Month," which read to me as a product variant rather than a recurring subscription. There was no clear disclosure at checkout that this would set up an ongoing monthly charge and Continuous Payment Authority on my card.

I emailed Drift the same day to flag the issue and ask for cancellation and a refund. They confirmed the subscription was cancelled but declined to refund the charge unless I "explicitly instructed" them to — despite my email already requesting exactly that. Their own reply apologised for "confusion... caused by the subscription process," which suggests I'm not the only customer this has happened to.

I've had to raise a formal dispute with my card provider to get this resolved. If you're ordering from Drift, read the checkout terms carefully — the subscription enrolment is not obvious.

This company isn't honest

This company isn't honest. They sign you up for a subscription repeat order without your consent. I returned a product sent to me worth $54 & it's been months that I've been fighting for my money back & they stole it. Their product the wooden car freshener only has a scent when you take it out of the package. After that you no longer smell anything at all. It was a waste of my money. It was a scam. I regret the 1st purchase. 2nd was without my consent.

Unknown subscription

While the Drift scented wood is in fact great, both my cars smell good but not sure why I was enrolled into a subscription. I don't like any subscription and not happy the way they slid in the subscription box somewhere in tiny prints. The 2 stars for their business practive. However they deserve a 5 stars for the scent blocks.

Stay clear - stealth subscription rip off

I signed up to try these out. Scent seemed OK but I did not recall signing up for a subscription and of course they start sending within a couple of weeks. Trying to cancel your subscription is unnecessarily difficult. I hope the law changes on this soon so companies like this who just take advantage can get fined.
My advice, stick to cheaper air fresheners from any shop that isn't trying to deceive you into a stealth subscription.

Never Turned Up

Never Turned Up - ordered a package of block, magnets and scents. Never had any communication although payment taken straight away. The order did show up on my account. Trying to find a contact number or email on their website is impossible. Did a google search in the end. Will try and retrieve payment via my card provider. No response to my email. I would suggest you give this company a wide berth!

Terrible customer service

I loved the product however I tried to add 1 extra diffuser onto my next subscription order, the site wasn't working correctly and not showing my updated cart. I reached out to support and didn't hear back for several days, at that time my order had already shipped. Due to the website not accurately updating I received 6 extra diffusers on my order. I reached out 3 more times to the company, 2 which were ignored. The company would not honour a return or anything at all even though this was an error on their website. I unfortunately will not be ordering from them anymore. They ripped me off $250 in product I didn't need.

This company has very sketchy business practices. I made a one time purchase to try out their car air fresheners and they automatically sign you up for a subscription program without any clear language about this whatsoever. I checked my order confirmation email and nothing in that email states a subscription sign up. All of a sudden I saw our credit card charge come through and I had to login and cancel a subscription I did not sign up for.

⭐ Worst Experience.

⭐ Worst Experience – Be Careful With the Subscription. Worst customer service. They only care about money not customer. Zero stars...

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Drift.

My first order took more than 10 days to arrive, even though their website indicated delivery within about 10 days. The fragrances also did not meet my expectations, and I could not find a clear return, refund, or exchange policy on their website.

What frustrated me most was the subscription. I did not realize my purchase included a recurring subscription until I was charged again the following month. Drift's website indicated that I would receive an email notification at least three days before a new order, but I did not receive that advance notice.

Once I noticed the new charge, I contacted them promptly and asked them to cancel the order. The order had NOT shipped, yet they refused to cancel it because they said it had already been "processed."

This is extremely poor customer service. If an order hasn't even shipped and a customer contacts you promptly to cancel—especially after not receiving the stated advance subscription notification—I would expect a customer-focused company to work toward a reasonable solution.

Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering Drift carefully review the subscription terms before purchasing and monitor any recurring charges closely.

I gave the company an opportunity to resolve the issue, but so far I have been very disappointed with how my concerns have been handled. Customer satisfaction should matter just as much as making a sale.

Would not trust

Extremely disappointing customer service. I was sent an order I never authorized and had previously confirmed with DRIFT support that I did not have an active subscription. When I contacted them, they canceled the subscription but refused to stop the current order, even though it had not yet shipped.

I asked them to resolve the issue or escalate it. They never responded, and a day or two later they shipped the order anyway. No refund or credit options, or even the ability to tailer the order to scents I would even want!

This was the second time I’ve had this issue with DRIFT. Very frustrating experience and not a company I’m comfortable trusting with recurring orders or customer information.

Drift is basically a classy scam with…

Drift is basically a classy scam with nice ads, but I guess I deserved it lol. At least it was a good lesson about impulse buying.

I was just casually scrolling through Facebook, saw their ad, and clicked on it. I don’t even remember if it was the original ad, their website, or one of their other “amazing offers,” but somehow I ended up placing a $35 order.

Then I checked the confirmation email and realized there was no estimated delivery date. So I went to their website to check the status. And guess what? No email address, no phone number, nothing. The only option is a chatbot that tells you someone will get back to you within 24 hours.

So I started digging around the website trying to figure things out myself, and that’s when I realized they had also signed me up for some kind of monthly auto-renewal for around $15. I never replied to their auto-renewal text, never said yes, and don’t remember giving them any other consent to subscribe me.

So where am I now? Frustrated over an overpriced car scent that I could probably buy at Walmart or Amazon, with no shipping date after 5 days, no real customer service, and still no explanation for why the hell they signed me up for a monthly subscription without my consent. 😄
