An absolute scam…buyer beware. I am too tired from dealing with them to go into details, but have lost $500 to them & had to rebook with Europ car. DO NOT hire a car through them, they deal with unscrupulous car rental companies out to rip you off at every turn. KEEP WELL AWAY is my tip

We got the car, but for 400Euro instead of 170Euro. The car rental company was on the outskirts of the airport instead of the airport. The insurance that the site offers is not honored at the rental company. The rental company claims that doyouitaly is just a broker, with no claims with the rental company when it concerns the insurance. All in all we got the car, but we will not use the services again.

Very straightforward process. Third time we've used this website

Took my money $1200 for a car rental and when I realised I’d made a mistake on the booking I was told bad luck you can’t change it and we won’t give you a refund!!! They don’t even have a contact phone number so you can’t speak to a human just email a bot that gives you nothing! I would have been happy to pay a re-booking fee or something but no…. I am $1200 down before I even get to Italy

I'm honestly disappointed by your response to my previous review because it doesn't answer any of the questions I asked. I know exactly what I paid for. I paid €340 when I picked up the car, which included the full coverage insurance that I was told I had to purchase in order to receive the vehicle. When I returned the car, I paid another €99 because I drove to Switzerland. I had already informed your staff before signing the contract that I would be taking the car to Switzerland, and I paid the required fee. So how can you now claim there was a breach of contract? What I asked for was a simple explanation of why my final invoice suddenly became €986.57, including charges such as "Breach of Contract Fee for Unlawful Usage," "Breach Contract Pedemontana," "Traffic Fines Deposit," and other unexpected fees. Instead of answering that, you posted a generic response asking me to email you. The problem is that I already did email you, and no one ever replied. As a customer, I expected transparency. Instead, I was left with a bill that was more than double what I had paid, with no explanation and no response to my email. That is why I felt compelled to share my experience publicly. This was, without question, the worst car rental experience I've ever had. Based on my personal experience, I would strongly encourage anyone thinking about renting from this company to be extremely careful, read every document thoroughly, and keep records of every payment. I certainly won't be renting from this company again.

BUYER BEWARE !!
We arrived at Catania airport but were held 30 minutes through passport control (a fairly common experience these days), this meant we arrived at Last Minute Car Hire at 21:55. The guy behind the desk was dealing with a customer and so we took our place in the queue. At 22:01 the car hire man leant past the customer in front of us and told us ‘closed’. We said we had a car to collect, he repeated ‘closed’, but asked to see our booking, he changed his approach and said ‘cancelled’ !
We asked why and he said ‘ring your agent’.
Guessing we weren’t dealing with a very helpful person we attempted to do as he advised, the phone went to a pre-recorded message saying the answer machine was full and duly cut us off.
We were forced to hire a car for a day to get us to our accommodation but we were assured on DYI WhatsApp that our booking was still active.
We returned to Catania airport the next day but were again told ‘cancelled’ !
We were shown the small print that says you have 59 minutes after your booked appointment to collect your car or it is cancelled. This obviously also rendered our excess insurance worthless (apart from to DYI, who received the fee).
Ultimately we had to hire a car on site for the week that tripled the cost for our week.
So be warned, unless you have a non UK passport, either allow plenty of time on your reservation time (and potentially hang around the airport until your time becomes live), which of course, if you have a late flight like we had is not an option, or expect to receive a ‘welcoming’ monosyllabic dismissal and a nice chunk of your spending money disappearing over the car hire desk.
I reported all this to DYI ( not easy as they are very difficult to contact). Kassandra offered her Kind regards but nothing else, other than referring me to the small print.
I certainly will never use DYI again.
UPDATE.
COMPUTER SAYS NO !!
I’ve read the response and like others on here the 59 minute rule should be highlighted to customers, not hidden in the small print, as this would affect decision to book
To blithely say it’s there so tough is not (in my opinion) good enough ! Change your conditions, we all know that UK passport holders (along with others) are liable to delays in airports and your approach simply does not work ! But of course you are not out of pocket, unlike your customers who you appear not to have the slightest interest in supporting

I booked a vehicle for 27 May. Upon reaching by their partner office I could not find anyone in the office and I waited for like 5 mins before I walk away to make sure that I am at the right place. Then in just another 1-2 mins I went back to their partner office and finally someone came back. Then the guy told me because I am late by 2 hrs (9.30am) and thus the car had been cancelled. I checked my watch and it was 9.35am. I told them that I was already here earlier but there is no one in the office. But they do not care and just told me the car had been rented to others. The rental of my car is very cheap and I think I can understand why they did this. So in the end I need to book another vehicle with DoYouItaly at a much higher price and the car is from another of their partner. All this is fine and I do not want to argue anymore. But it had been more than one month and I had been trying to contact DoYouItaly for the refund of the insurance that I had paid for the first car but I did not get any response until now. Since I didn't managed to get the vehicle so I can't understand why is it so difficult to get the refund for the insurance. Until today I am still sending them reminder email for an update and hopefully I will get a reply and the refund for my insurance paid.

Easy process, prices and options are clear as are all booking conditions.
I'd like to see an option for winter tyres instead of chains for winter mountain driving.

Booked a car (with a reputable international supplier) from Bergamo to Rome a good bit cheaper than other sites were offering. The booking process went well and was very easy - hopefully the experience of picking up and returning the car will too - Italian rental desks have tried to rip me off on every single occasion in the past!

Apart from the simple booking process on the website, everything else about this platform was terrible.
We rented a car through DoYouItaly, but their local partner demanded additional charges that had not been clearly communicated in advance. DoYouItaly did absolutely nothing to help or intervene.
The local partner then claimed that the car we had reserved was no longer available. Once again, DoYouItaly made no effort to resolve the situation or assist us.
To make matters even worse, our security deposit still has not been refunded after more than two weeks. As you might expect, despite contacting them several times, DoYouItaly has not responded at all.
If you want nothing but problems, rent a car through this company. A truly awful experience.

The experience was great. I asked for a modification however I think the vehicle will be large enough for four adults. Thanks, Sam

I booked car and I wrote inquiry about possibility of purchasing insurance without a deductible. I've sent at least four emails and no one has responded. I only get a return message with the ticket number. I think I'll consider to cancel my booking. The number of ticket is (7263574).
I wrote according to suggestions and unfortunately till now I didn't receive any answer. My email to help desk was sent 11.07.26. if I won't receive any answer to resolve my doubts I would have to cancel my booking. I am waiting for the answer
