Free trial not honored and refund denied.
When I signed up a free seven day trial was advertised and then I was offered a discounted price of $39.99 so I took it expecting the same trial. Apparently the subscription I’ve paid for did not honor the trial. I’m not using the website and I let them know immediately that I wanted to cancel. I have been informed that is not possible. it took me at least five tries to even get someone to respond to my request to cancel. I finally had to cancel and have my money refunded through my credit card company because they would not help me. Their customer service is terrible and it’s ridiculous that they would offer me an additional 12 months rather than my money back. If I’m not using it now, I’m certainly not gonna use it for another 12 months. If you’re interested in an app similar to this, I suggest Headspace.

Avoid unless you want to fight for your refund
Deepstash advertises a “30 day money-back guarantee”, but in practice getting a refund is extremely difficult. I had to follow up repeatedly, was ignored for days, and was repeatedly offered a free subscription extensions instead of the refund I was entitled to.
The refund only happened after weeks of persistent emails and directly contacting the founder/co-founder on LinkedIn. No apology, no explanation—just an automated refund notification.
Based on my experience, the refund process appears intentionally obstructive. Be aware that you may need to escalate aggressively to get your money back.

terrible customer service
It’s a nice concept, but they don’t care about their customers or the quality of the content in the app. I paid for a discounted subscription, but after using it for a while, I realized it wasn’t for me and decided not to renew it.
However, the subscription was renewed despite a reminder. I tried to cancel immediately (within 24 hours) and requested a refund. It took them two weeks to respond, only to refuse the refund and offer me a one-year subscription instead, which I declined. After that, they offered a 50% refund along with a one-year subscription, but then they stopped replying altogether.
I know I no longer want to use Deepstash, so what is the point of giving me a one-year subscription?

I purchased the pro subscription of this app for around $11. Prior to paying this I was ensured that I had a 30 day money back guarantee. Within 2 days I realised the app was not for me, so I requested a full refund. I was met with an offer of a 12 month free subscription which I politely denied and requested my refund. I was then ignored for 3 weeks despite me emailing them 4 times. I was finally refunded when I threatened to open an investigation against them via my bank, but even then they tried to argue that I had never been eligible for a refund at all and that the reason they hadn’t replied to me was because my messages had ended up in spam. Sham organisation. Do NOT give any money unless you are happy to lose it forever.

The “free” account isn’t free. I cancelled the subscription I signed up for. Guess who had to order a new card to stop getting charged? What an absolute scam. And since in my apple account and in their app there “was no subscription”, there was no other way to stop them from taking money from me.

Awful company who scam consumers out of money
Avoid at all costs. Deepstash take money from your account with zero warning, whilst hiding how to cancel the subscription (doesn't show up in Google Play) - worse than that, they ignore all emails about complaining and asking for a refund, only offering a 'gift' as resolution, which is unacceptable.
As consumers, we are entitled to clear and transparent pricing when purchasing products and services.
Deepstash have displyed nothing but underhand, and dishonest behaviour.
They intentionally make it very unclear when the subscription renewal is due, offer absolutely zero warnings or reminders that this is coming up, no mention of how much and also, all of the links around subscriptions and billings in the FAQ guide do not work (i.e how to actually cancel, when billing is due etc.) - all of which clearly demonstrates their poor customer service.
Their billing model is unacceptable and misleading. Judging by the extremely negative reviews that several customers have left, all along the same lines, I am clearly not the only victim of their poor business practices.

Despite several mails they have refused to proceed my claim for refund. The only reply was a life time subscription, but since refusing it no more reply.
I have fulfilled all the requirements to receive the money back… but no reply. (14 working days)

I was finally able to get a refund, but only after replying publicly to a comment from the CEO on LinkedIn (Vladimir Oane Co-Founder at Deepstash).
Important context:
I had cancelled my subscription within 24 hours.
I got no response from customer support.
The refund was processed 10 minutes after I commented publicly under the CEO’s post.
So yes, the issue is partially resolved — but I’m now still fighting to get confirmation that my banking details have been deleted, which should be standard.
If you’re stuck in a similar situation:
👉 Publicly commenting on the CEO’s LinkedIn post is what worked for me.
Hope this helps someone avoid weeks of frustration.

DEEPSTASH is a TOTAL SCAM
Total scam. App is buggy and looks like they used AI summaries. Worst part is they prevent you from cancelling. App says "go here to cancel" and then drops to nothing. I have sent customer service 4 messages to cancel and received nothing back. One of the worst scams ive seen.

Horrible customer service, horrible app, don't waste your money. Make sure you cancel subscription THROUGH THE APP. The subscription does not show up in your subscription tab through the play store. Sneaky POS wouldn't refund my $60 bc I missed that I was still subscribed and asked for refund after it had only been 1 week after renewal.

A “7-day free trial” is advertised when you’re shown the yearly plan, but if you choose the monthly option, the free trial quietly disappears. That’s not made clear upfront, and it’s easy to assume the trial applies regardless of subscription type, which feels intentionally misleading and deceptive.
When I contacted support, I was told they couldn’t issue a refund and that only Apple could — which hasn’t been true in my past experiences with other apps. Deflecting responsibility instead of helping the customer further eroded my trust. Response times were also extremely slow (about 5 days per reply).
The product itself also doesn’t justify a paid “education” label. I noticed multiple typos within minutes, and the content felt shallow and unoriginal, more like copy-pasted material than actual instruction. Not worth paying even $1 for.

UPDATE: I never got money back from Deepstash, but luckily when complained to Google, they were able to refund, because payment was done via Google. Deepstash answered, but it was nothing helpful. (02/2026)
They promised 7 day trial of free cancellation, but it is actually 6 days and they take your money on the 7th. It is not enough you cancel on the 7th. And they charged the whole year despite the cancellation. This is day 13 of waiting for an answer from them.
The app is filled with bugs like audio reading skipping chapters and of course the cancellation has something wrong with it.
Otherwise the content is ok and idea behind it is great,but this is definitely not the way you handle orders and customers. I'd advice kindly not to give your money to this company.

Charged immediately and cancellation only applies months later
I signed up to Deepstash after seeing ads that presented the offer as 3 months for around $50 with the ability to cancel at any time.
On the first day, immediately after entering my card details, I was charged $19.98.
I cancelled the subscription the next day, yet the cancellation only applies at the end of the 3 months (February 26, 2026). The charge was not refunded, and the service continues until then.
In practice, cancelling early does not cancel the subscription in any meaningful way, but only prevents a future renewal.
After reading many other reviews here describing the same scenario, it is clear this is a recurring pattern.
This billing model is misleading and unacceptable.

I would give zero stars if I could
I would give zero stars if I could. I could not get the app to work and requested a cancellation and refund within an hour of purchasing a 3 month plan. Not only did they not refund me, they charged another $50. I am out $100 for something I have never even opened. Which should be easy to prove considering everything we do on the internet is tracked by someone. I am annoyed I was treated like I didn’t know what I wanted and I was ignored and stolen from. Stay away.
