Wouldn’t even give 1 star if I had the choice. Disgraceful company, they accuse you of lying and give you no choice but to pay. They are rude and threatening. I will definitely think twice before signing up to anything that involves this company in future. Should be ashamed of yourselves. Oh and ignore the crappy little replies that give on this to email them, they just tell you exactly what you’ve already been told and aren’t interested in helping at all.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received regarding my recent attempt to cancel my membership. I initially reached out via email several days ago and received no response, prompting me to follow up today. Subsequently, I learned that my 12-month membership is set to expire in accordance with our agreement. Accordingly, I provided the required notice for membership cancellation via email on November 29th, 2023, due to relocation. However, my frustration escalated when I received a request from Kirsty in the Administration Team, asking for my bank statements as evidence. I am perplexed by this request, especially given that my membership is naturally concluding. I have only my tenancy agreement as proof of relocation, and I fail to comprehend why additional evidence is necessary in this context. I kindly request that someone more competent in this matter reach out to me promptly to provide clarification on the requested evidence and ensure a smooth resolution to this matter.

I cancelled the gym membership that I had in August after paying first month in cash. I also cancelled the DD which had not been taken yet after telling the gym owner I could not continue to travel so far to use the facilities. She did not tell me that to cancel this contract I had to email dfc directly. I did not receive a copy of my contract with their details, or given any indication how to get in contact either.
In September I received a letter saying I had not paid this membership. I emailed the dfc to let them know that I had cancelled this with the gym directly. After looking through their FAQs I realised I would have to cancel this through their website, which I did. I received no reply to my email and no confirmation of cancellation. At the time I believed that the issue had been resolved so I didn't attempt to contact them again.
Cut to 4th November, I received a threatening letter dated 23rd October stating they were disappointed I hadn't replied to them (which is lies!) and that I now owe £240 which will go to debit collection agency if I do not make contact with them. I have no idea where they pulled this figure from, but since my gym membership was £40 a month, it looks like they are charging me for 6 months?! They did not detail how this figure was calculated and I can't understand why they did not cancel the contract when I requested this or contact me when a second "missed payment" occurred.
I am beyond furious, I have only heard from this company once via a letter and now they are threatening to use a debit collection agency on a debt I do not owe. I'd have paid the cancellation fees if there were any or the extra month I see others in these comments have had to pay if I was alerted to this at the time. I will be seeking legal advice on next steps because I did not have any contact from this company or the gym to question failed payments or alert me to fines I was incurring.
If you are starting a membership with a new gym, make sure to ask them if they use dfc before signing anything, you will only regret it!

Should be zero. Took a DD from my account after a subscription had been cancelled. It has been returned (was returned quickly which makes me wonder if the business model is just to take as much as possible and deal with those who complain after...just a theory!) No replies to emails so feels like it might happen again (even though it had and has been cancelled w bank)

Lucky I checked my online banking. Notification from Natwest saying a new direct debit was due to come out. I checked and there was two identical transactions one after the other for 15.50 each due on 2nd October. I've reported them, its a scam/fraud. I have ni debts and did not sign up to anything with this so called company and I know every direct debit coming out of my account.
UPDATE - apologies to this company. I called the bank this morning as these two payments were showing up on my account. They guy who dealt with me dug deep abd said it was for a direct debit I had set up with Goddard vets for pro active pets , I have done this. Not sure why a third party company would be used, but there you ho. All legit. Sorry for the bad review, I'll take it back.

Emailed today as I have noticed months and months of £15.50 being taken from my account. I have a free gym at work so I have no need for a gym membership and never had one at that cost. I'll await the reply, but I want every penny refunded immediately.

Good luck taking money out of my bank, don't know how you set up a DD without my permission. Scum company.

DFC look after my gym memberships. I arranged for my DD to be taken on the 5th of every month with the gym. But they have tried to take the DD several times on the wrong day meaning a missed payment, I have 3 memberships and I am receiving a 15 pound late charge for each one. An extra 75 pound per month. Inhave tried calling and emailing and no one is helping me. I have had no support and therefore left with no choice but to cancel DD until I manage to talk to someone. Very disappointed.

Took DD from my bank account £15 but no indication of what it is for. Cancelled DD.

I have a new bank account and i was cancelling my direct debits and i noticed this debit finance 5 pound they have been taking this for months ive never signed up for a gym so why are you taking money off me and it won't even let me cancel it

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Definitely double check any gym that use this payment merchant and avoid like the plague. I informed them of my cancellation of my membership and that I cancelled the direct debit and to contact me should I need to do anything further (such as pay the outstanding fee)
Silence from them until until after the direct debit had attempted to be taken in order to tell me that I needed to make a payment before this happened. Although confused why they took so long to respond I immediately paid the subscription price requested on the day it was due. However they are charging me a late payment charge for a payment that wasn’t late, and have threatened to add another charge even though I’ve already paid them and supplied evidence of this from my bank.
They take days to reply to any email and give pretty boilerplate replies and don’t attempt to actually help to resolve the situation. Appalling customer service. All I want to do is pay what I owed and close the account but they aren’t interested.

Disgusted with this appalling service. I cancelled my children's swimming lessons, for which I have written confirmation, only to today receive a demand for outstanding payments along with a late payment fee of £15 for membership that we no longer have!!! Absolutely appalling, if I'd known that South Gloucester Leisure centres use such dodgy fraudulent money scammers like this I would never have signed up to use their services. If I continue to be harassed for money I don't owe I will contact the ombudsman and seek to find out what action I can pursue.

My son cancelled his gym membership over six years ago( not sure of date) and out of the blue he had had a threatening letter demanding £61.50 but Fifth Dimension say they haven’t used this company so it screams scam

We came to the end of our membership woth Socatots and I gave the company a months notice and cancelled the direct debit, as I would expect to do for any service such as this. I then recieved multiple emails from Debit Finance saying I have a £15 late payment charge (which has now gone up to £30 plus another month's charge so £60). Very difficult to actually get to the point of cancelling with Debit Finance themselves. Terrible company, don't know why any service would use them.

I cancelled my gym membership because a member of staff wasn’t making going there enjoyable at all… I have M.S, so it’s already hard enough (really hard especially when it involves walking) for me to get there, last thing I need is an attitude for absolutely no justifiable reason!
I decided to cancel and move on, next thing I see is an email saying I owe them ? When I wasn’t in the country for a few months, they still go paid, I wasn’t complaining but now I’m back and not happy with the way I was dealt with… I get that email ?!

I joined my local gym back in February (wasn’t told it was a contract with a minimum term of 3 years!!!), got made redundant in April and Debit Finance won’t let me out of a contract I can’t pay for unless I provide them evidence of benefits I’m not even eligible for.
Their customer service is shocking.
