I raised a query with Croydex at approximately 9:00 am this morning regarding a toilet seat I had purchased which had a problem with the soft close mechanism. I had a reply by 9:30 requesting a copy o... See more

Hinge snapped across at the screw hole after two years light use - obviously a manufacturing defect but they refused to replace.
I purchased a Croydex Flexi-Fix toilet seat about 6 months ago and I have to say the finish on the metal parts has aged terribly in that time. A toilet that is seldom used looks worse than one that was in the house when we moved in. Very disappointed at the level of quality given how happy I have been with their other products, not to mention the price as well!
Purchased and fitted "Soft Close - Quick Release Seat" to downstairs toilet. The hinge mounts were of two different types preventing the seat from locking on the spigots; looks like they have a configuration control problem. However an email to Croydex customer service resulted in an immediate response and the correct parts arrived within three days - so kudos for fixing the issue so promptly.
Review of Croydex Sit Tight Carron Soft Close Toilet Seat, Wood, White, 47 x 36.5 x 6 cm
Arrived from Amazon Yesterday at 5.09pm, everything in order, fitted in the evening, used it a couple of times this morning (in the spare toilet) and at 12.41pm today notice a chip in in the seat rim, nothing has been near it to chip it so must be a manufacturing fault. I will not be buying from Croydex again, I should have heeded the amazon reviews. Will have to remove and return to amazon.
Easy to fit, using screws pushed up from beneath the WC. Looks good. I hope the seat remains a trouble-free investment. My only gripe is that one of the four pads beneath the seat fell off whilst fixing the seat in place and so I have taken the precaution of putting a dab of glue on the fixing points of all four pads as the other three also looked vulnerable to becoming detached.
Just spent nearly an hour and a half fitting this - first the dome shaped washer and the silver one kept falling off the screw and trying to manoeuvre your hands to hold them on while you put the little washer on was impossible TILL I stuck the dome washer and silver one together with cellotape then when I put them on the long screw they stayed there till I got the small washer on also it didn't stick to the pan till it was nearly tightened ! The instruction sheet was confusing so I watched several you tube videos on how to do it. Well it's on now and looks nice l
Well the product looked nice. But it is impossible to understand or assemble the product - and there is no video on the site as the say. So lots of wasted time and and useless manual. Thanks?
Appalled with my recent purchase of Croydex “no more move” toilet seat. Didn’t even last one day; perhaps what Croydex means is that, you can no longer move! Poor quality and design, flimsy plastic with poor quality plastic fixings, so it’s no wonder it broke after a couple of uses. Would not recommend to others looking for a toilet seat, avoid this crap seat!
Two careful adults and no kids in our house but we've had 3 Croydex soft close seats in 2 1/2 years in our en suite.
These highly recommended seats just don't seem up to the job. The soft close just fails in all too short a time.
Won't be buying Croydex again.
It has now been over three weeks since I posted a review about Croydex toilet seats and also sent an email to them direct but still no reply so toilet seat is useless and I have had to buy another one. I would not touch them.
Shame I can't give zero stars really. 14 weeks to get an answer that they can't supply a magnetic hinge replacement and that I have to return the cabinet to the retailer for a refund - a cabinet that is mounted on a tiled wall so holes drilled through the tiles. When you're on hold you're told by an automated voice how excellent their products and services are - my experience is far from this - avoid their products at all cost.
Bought a quick release toilet seat , totally failed to lock after 3 months . Rubbish design and build quality . Thankfully Better Bathrooms refunded me in full . Croydex didn’t want to know! Just read the reviews here. Over priced rubbish and poor customer service .
I am just about to return a Croydex bathroom cabinet to Screwfix for a refund. The flat-pack item arrived in fairly good condition except for some marks on the mirrored doors. These cleaned off but shouldn't have been there in the first place. The packing was quite neat though - but packing isn't what you're paying for I suppose. Still, it was a work of art and it's just a pity this attention to detail wasn't reflected in the product itself.
Anyway, the real problem was the crude, push-fit hinges that couldn't be adjusted to get a straight shut-line on the doors. The doors were significantly misaligned and as a result looked odd. Other reviewers have also found this to be a problem for which there is no realistic solution. The frame cannot be adjusted to help align the shut lines.
And so as I've said I'll be returning the item for a refund. I hadn't heard of the name Croydex before now and after this unfortunate introduction will not buy one of their products again.
Really, I don't think Screwfix should stock an inferior quality product such as this.
DONT BUY!!!Terrible product ...no tension whatsoever and sticky pads just fell off the wall.
THIS IS THE WORST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED...£20!!
Croydex should be embarrassed to be selling this product and certainly won’t purchase any other of their products
Shower curtain rod: It is hard to assemble and doesn't work.
Purchased a seat from Amazon, Ordered this item on November the 1st and arrived promptly but unfortunately two of the seat pads had been fitted incorrectly and were damaged. I contacted the manufacturer thinking if I return a toilet seat it will be scrapped due to lack of microbiological integrity so requested the part sending pictures of both the seat and the damaged part. 8 emails later and two phone calls despite promises of delivery 3/5 working days and secondly next day delivery still no part and a toilet seat that can’t be used without risking damage. The product itself seems good quality despite the assembly issue, however the customer service support is appalling. I have no option now but to return a seat only for it to be destined for the skip. Trying to do the right thing and avoid unnecessary waste sometimes is just so frustrating.
UPDATE 1st Dec
Surprise surprise still waiting for parts to arrive
Absolutely rubbish quality of build, QD bracket would not release when screw down to pan, only released when unscrewed from toilet, no matter how tight I tightened it down, it still slipped, nightmare to fit, far too complicated, in the end, ordered another Wickes soft close, straight forward 2 mins to fit, doesn't slip, cheaper, looks the same, not Quick Detach, but neither was this one it seems.... Don't waste your money. Nicer seats for less money on the market. Bought from a seller on eBay, label fitted by Croydex stated item could not be returned for hygiene reasons, great excuse to churn out rubbish products... I think you'll find Consumer Rights will turn that statement into hogwash... Make items that work, and are easy to install, and you won't need to put stupid stickers on the package..
Appalling problems installing this; extremely poor response to complaints.
My first email to them took them 16 days to answer; the second, 5 weeks ago they haven't bothered to respond to.
Essentially, the instructions are poor & misleading. I do not understand why:
1. On page 2 of the manual, you show the items supplied, labelled from A to H
2. Having labelled the items, you never reference them again
3. Page 3 diagram 1 show item C as attached to item B, and place on toilet seat. Why, what do you gain as you need the screws through the toilet seat to adjust correctly.
4. Diagram 4 says take off protective cover (why not also say item C) & this misled me. I though you meant the film.
5. Page 6 diagram 14 shows the screws being tightened, but there is no indication as to how much.
I trained as a technical writer & I found this manual confusing, lacking in clarity & short on necessary detail.
It’s OK as an aide memoir if you’ve installed these before; not ideal if you haven’t
As stated, this is now working but still has a small tendency to move.
I have tightened the screws as much as I dare, but I’m worried I will break something if I tighten too much.
The installation experience was fraught & unsatisfactory, as it isn’t entirely right even now.
Bought a 3 tier CYOYDEX shower caddy from homebase with a 5 year rust free warrany, after 18 months its completely rusty !
Complaint to Croydex who agreed ro send a replacement which never arrived, nightmare company to contact everything takes forever. 5 year rust free warranty is a joke.
Over 4 months later i received a replacement ....... not sure if it will rust or not but fair dues........
Sent 2 hrs. trying to fit the telescopic shower rail. What a nightmare! The screw at one end does not tighten at all ! Terrible design
