I raised a query with Croydex at approximately 9:00 am this morning regarding a toilet seat I had purchased which had a problem with the soft close mechanism. I had a reply by 9:30 requesting a copy o... See more

I recently purchased a Croydex Shower Seat from Wickes. I was surprised when I found it did not come with any screws and plugs, usually products have these included. The instructions only give the information that countersunk screws should not be used. I contacted Croydex to ask what diameter screws should be used, I was only told the dimensions of the holes that I had already measured myself. Croydex would not recommend any fixings (i.e. screw diameter and length) saying it was the installers responsibility. I formed the impression they don't want to give any such information incase they get sued should it fall off the wall and someone get hurt. If fact I would say by not giving any recommendations they are negligent anyway.
It is too late to return it to Wickes, and I don't feel Croydex have given me sufficient information to install it. So I have the choice of trying to sell it of dumping it.
I do not recommend this companies products, and suggest that anything with their name on it would be best left on the shelf.
I cannot believe they are still mis-selling products online. They advertised "Hampstead soap dispenser" online and when I received my order it was just the pump dispenser part on the top!!! I was made to feel it was my fault for not looking in the parts section even though I was not looking for a part. Still waiting for a refund as it was their mistake. What an awful company. I'll never use them again.
Flexi fit toilet seat. Easy to fit, smooth closure, absolutely no sliding about stay put thanks to adhesive pads. Superb after sales service from Croydex , swift response and satisfactory outcome . Would purchase their products again.
Eyre soft close quick release toilet seat. Illustration clearly shows quick release button on front of seat when lifted up (Fig 13). It is NOT. It's on the back and unless seat is positioned far enough forward, therefore overhanging the pan, there is very little room, if any, to get to the quick release button once the seat is fitted. Very bad design.
had a rusty shower tray cornersoap holder replaced no trouble thank you
Shower corner unit. This is the 2nd one purchased. I really like the size but as previous one purchased it is covered in rust. When purchased the attached label confirms 10 year guarantee against this. Really disappointed with quality.
How hard can they make it to fit a new bog seat?
Product would be fine if they included decent instructions - but they don't. Why is a fancy plastic cap, covering an already-covered sticky pad, described as "decorative" when it's chucked away immediately? Ever heard of the pollution caused by single use plastics? Why two fitting systems - the instructions for the first of which are incomplete, and for the second (described as "most popular" method) not given AT ALL? Would have been a simple with instructions. I suppose this cheap product is made overseas and nobody at Croydex could be bothered to check if the instructions made sense.
Bought the Hartley wooden seat with the deluded idea that I could actually press a button and remove it to clean the toilet. Ha! pressed the button, nothing. pressed and wiggled it a bit, still nothing. After 15 mins of this it finally came off. So I cleaned.
Then, would it go back on, and stay there... not a chance. The lock mechanism on the two posts doesnt work. Had to use a pen to push the grip back and carefully slot it back. but when you sit on it, it moves! bloody useless at 5am when you need a p155 in the dark. had to wiggle it, and press the button and try to surprise-jam it on, trying several times to make it stay; so its now on, and it aint moving again.
If you want a removable toilet seat, this isnt one. dont bother. I was going to do the other two toilets with the same, but not a chance now. Ill find a more reliable company.
It only gets two stars cos the soft close still works, a month on and it still functions as a seat, just not as a removable one.
Absolute rubbish.
Warning, Don't but product from Croydex.
Only empty advertising, no substantial.
Be prepared to loose your money if you buy their stuff.

Croydex were prompt in resolving a problem I had with one product.
Purchased a Flexi Fit Never Slips Slow Close toilet seat; only it doesn’t. One grip pad works fine but the other failed completely, no matter how much pressure applied and how tight the fixings are. Slow Close? Yes to a point about 100mm above completely closed, then bang, the seat drops. Extremely poor product.
Had two of these soft close toilet seats in two years , both broke in just 14 months , poor quality plastics cracked on the seat where the fixings are and on the actual fixings, do yourself a favour don’t bother
Avoid buying croydex Flexi toilet seat.
Really bad value for money won’t last more than 15months and croydex won’t do anything if the 1year warranty is up. Toilet fixtures are built too close to the toilet seat so they rub until the material starts to fray and the soft close fixtures slowly cracks the barrel as it’s not built to open an close often. Toilet seat cost almost £50 and won’t last 2 years and looks really cheap when it arrived. Overall really disappointing product. It’s up to you but I felt anyone thinking of buying this toilet seat should know the experience most people have had so this doesn’t not happen to you.
I followed the instructions exactly to install a flexi-fit top fix toilet seat.
All seemed to go to plan, I lined up the fixing correctly, removed the sticky pad covers, stuck the mounts down, tightened the bolts and installed the seat.
As soon as I closed the seat the vertical posts the seat attaches to flexed forward due to the pressure exerted on them by the seat's weight, pulling up the mount surrounds that were stuck down onto the toilet itself.
I tried to tighten the bolts more but due to the fixing being made of rubber it just pulls up out of the hole it was placed into and bunches up under the mount cover.
The seat works but the entire connection with the toilet flexes and creaks every time I use it and I doubt it will last too long before coming out of the fixing hole entirely.
I do not see how a rubber mount holding the bolt will ever stay rigid enough to withstand the forces exerted upon it of the toilet seat opening and closing.
Maybe what they meant by Flexi-Fit was that the whole thing flexes all the time!
Most ridiculous non slip hinge fittings by way of adhesive pads which become unintentionally stuck and then a nightmare to remove without damaging but the worst thing was that when fitted (After a good hour of messing about) the seat doesn't close properly because there isn't enough clearance between the hinge and the bracket. I emailed the Croydex 'help line' with photos of the non closing seat but at the time of writing this review they have ignored.
As we need to use the toilet I went and purchased a different seat from a different manufacturer, it took around 10 minutes to fit, it closes perfectly and it doesn't slip.
Don't waste your time and money with this product or company.
Endured one of these toilet seats for a year then put it in the dustbin.
Impossible to fit securely because of pathetic plastic fittings. Hinge contraption difficult to clean and seat easily becomes detached from hinge.
Slow action means toilet is often flushed before closure which is not a good idea.
Pretentious over complicated design where simpliciy is really required.
Purchased a Croydex Sudbury Double Door bathroom cabinet. Nice cabinet, decent storage space, like the light, BUT! the on off switch only turns the light off and on it does not turn off the shaver charger and the damn thing buzz's away 24/7, really annoying when you want to relax in a hot bath in peace and quiet, can even hear it in the adjacent bedroom. This should be explained in the product info. Expensive mistake.
This is one of those (possibly) rare cases where you need some "after sales" support of a very cheap product you bought over a decade ago, and you are so surprised they still make the product and offer support, and the resolution is so unbelievably quick, and it has such a small but noticeable impact on your life that it leaves a good impression and you actively think "I will leave these guys a good review". It wasn't solicited in any way, shape, or form. Just came to Trustpilot to express some positivity on this occasion!
I bought a cheap 3-compartment soap dispenser from Amazon 12 years ago, then replaced it about 5 years ago because it broke and I had liked the product so much. I didn't need to replace the mounting plate which was siliconed to the wall when I replaced the unit, and so re-used the old one at this point.
(EXCELLENT product by the way. It's one of those things you ignore daily, then one day when it's not there you curse regularly!)
Anyway eventually I did need to replace the mounting plate which is siliconed to the wall due to needing to repair some tiles after 12 years. I hadn't kept the new mounting plate from 5 years ago. Because I'm a huge cheapskate, I didn't bother buying a new soap dispenser which comes with spare mounting plate (let's call it "avoiding plastic waste", not "cheapskate"...)
This story is getting hugely complicated. Anyway...
I had a feeling that I should be careful when selecting a replacement silicone, as the special silicone glue they provided, which was unfailing for 12 full years of heavy use, clearly had done an excellent job.
Maybe it's a common product in a different form, maybe not. I wasn't taking my chances. When full of soap this thing could break a bone if it fell off the shower onto your big toe.
I emailed Croydex (a UK company - hurrah) expecting a long wait, and a "sorry we can't send out spare silicone packs" or "this product has been discontinued" but NO!
Had a response WITHIN 3 minutes.
Had a packet of silicone within 24 hours on my doorstep! It was even branded "Croydex" on the packet. What kind of service is this?!
This is why we should support UK companies as much as possible.
Croydex flexi fit toilet seat is a waste of money. Sticky pads became unstuck in less than 24 hours should advertise it as the swing toilet seat quick release releases for no reason. Worst toilet seat I've ever owned DO NOT BUY!!!
