Food poisoning

My husband and I ate at cracker barrel on Monday October 21, 2024. We ate breakfast. We ate eggs, pancakes, fried apples and sausage. My husband got the worst heartburn of his life. About 6:30 pm I got chills and started to feel terrible. I woke up Tuesday morning. I was extremely nauseated and had diarrhea. I think I had food poisoning. I have not felt that bad or that sick ever. We think it was the sausage. I have cracker barrel gift cards and I'm throwing them away. I NEVER want to feel that bad again.

We travel a lot and Cracker Barrel use to be our Go To place. The service never recovered since COVID. The wait staff doesn't seem to be trained or care about the customers. We have experienced the same problem in 5 southern states. I hear that CB is changing their menu. In our opinion, the menu is not the problem. The big CB in the sky needs to pay attention to the many complaints and fix their problem. Hire good people and pay them a decent wage. A lot of our friends feel the same way. It in unfortunate.

I stopped and picked up a salad with grill chicken and soup, when I got home to open it up the salad was so brown and old and chicken tough and burned, I threw it in the garbage. The soup was watery with very few veggies, it also went to trash, very disappointed in Bera Cracker Barrel, will not order anything there again

Problems at Aiken Cracker Barrel???

Ordered a Coke Zero, it was flat. They brought me another, also flat. Still had to pay for it. Also ordered chicken and dumplings. Good dumplings, but very little chicken. I needed a refill on my ice water, but the server I asked didn't bring me one.

The worst - What was is no more!

The worst! We use to love Cracker Barrel but we stopped going in 2023. The food was not good and they have forgotten who their customers are. But we thought let's give them another try. We were driving by there anyway. But the food was still not good. I had the Shepherd's Pie and it tasted - off. When you hear brown gravy you expect it to taste like brown gravy. Food took 30 mins. I feel for the cooks. it's a hard job. CB - Spend more money to make money! Hire some cooks! But the worst thing was I needed to use the rest room because of meds I take and there was not any toilet paper in the men's room. I told 3 different employees about it and 15 minutes later - the woman at the register said the mangers take care of that! Fat lot of help that is! I left and went across the street to McDonald's (Colubis exit I65) which had cleaner and nicer restrooms than Cracker Barrel. McD's was also playing Christian music! And there was paper! A young guy was even in there cleaning them and made sure the soap dispenser worked for me because they had some trouble form one of them. How nice! The Quarter pounder is not the tastiest burger around but it would have been better than that Shepherd's Pie! We will not be back... With the company losing money and the stock price cut in half you would think they would not be looking to change as much as they need to return to their roots! CB is a Tennessee company with a CEO trying to make them a New York Company! But that's not who the bulk of the customers are! CB-You better wise up! FAST! CB is on the same path as Subway and Red Lobster - They are also probably not long for this world.

Stay Away from Cracker Barrel in Linthicum Heights, MD

We discovered “Cracker Barrel Restaurants” years ago while traveling on vacation. It seems like every state we went in we looked for a Cracker Barrel to eat at. I was always hoping we would get one close to Baltimore. Well we did (1520 W. Nursery Rd, Linthicum Heights) and it is the WORST restaurant ever!!! Ate there years ago (probably 4 or more) and had a bad experience with the waitress putting her finger in my glass before refilling with tea - disgusting. I complained to the head office and they were very understanding and told me that they would be talking to the manager at this restaurant. Hadn’t been back to this particular Cracker Barrel for years, but my husband had a doctor appointment one morning and he asked me where we should go for breakfast. Since we hadn’t been there for years I figured it might be under new management or things might have improved - WRONG! The pancakes tasted like they had been made at least a week ago, the sausage was over cooked and dried out, I asked for biscuits and the waitress said they would cost extra, so since I was paying I ordered Sourdough Toast. The toast didn’t come out in time to eat with my meal and when the waitress brought it to the table it was “BLACK” and HARD. She leaned over and whispered in my ear that “She Didn’t Charge Me For It, Because It Was (what she called) A LITTLE BURNT! My husband and I tried to scrap it off, but to no avail. She filled our cup up with coffee, but when we asked for more cream she never came back. The girl at the cash register asked me how the meal was and I told her “AWFUL”, she never said another word except ask me how much TIP I wanted to leave. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!! NEVER, EVER GOING BACK! My husband is ready to give up on “Cracker Barrel” all together, but to be honest with you, I like their food - JUST CAN’T GO TO THIS ONE!!!!!

Poor Customer Service/Poor Customer Relations…

The Cracker Barrel on Bush River Road in Columbia, SC needs to learn how their own app works. They also need to have their staff, including their managers retrained in Customer Service and Customer Relations.

I placed an order through the Cracker Barrel app and they left out part of my order when it was delivered. I asked the delivery person about it and she said I need to let the store know. I contacted the store, and upon explaining the issue to the person answering the phone, she said they don’t negotiate delivery so I need to contact the company who delivered it. I explained again that I did not order it through a delivery service, I ordered directly from the Cracker Barrel app. I have no idea who they contacted to deliver the order, but I paid through Cracker Barrel. The woman actually yelled at me and hung up on me.

I called back and asked for the manager. A woman who called herself Lea said she was the manager and she told me the same thing the other lady said. I explained again that I didn’t order through the DoorDash app, so my problem is not with DoorDash, it’s with Cracker Barrel. She also hung up on me.

Waiter was great

Waiter was great. And we tipped him accordingly. But we ordered on the early bird specials. Sign said 8.99 starting. Made it look like everything in that section was 8.99. There were no other prices on that section. Bill was 6 dollars each more than expected. So I guess you have to be a mind reader these days. Not happy

Really going downhill.

Really going, going, gone downhill. Long wait not because tables were full but lack of staff. Hello management. Food quality has spiraled down over the past several months. Servers with no desire to be attentive. Constantly out of various food items. How do you run out of "today's special"? Dirty tables abound. Dirty tables when we were seated; same dirty tables when we left. Poor management. Person at register was looking at his phone the entire time I was paying out. I mean head down looking at his phone. Used to eat at Cracker Barrel weekly. Now it's maybe every other month.

My husband wanted to go for his birthday. We drove 30 miles from West Kendall to the one in Florida City. First time we didn’t have to wait. Server was great. Food not so much. I go for the hash brown casserole and chicken and dumplings. Sad state when hash brown casserole, so dissatisfied and disappointed, was flat cold hashbrowns. No casserole about it. The chicken and dumplings no better. More little dumplings than chicken. Tiny pieces of chicken. Very salty dish too. I remember large square dumplings and soft tender chicken. Oh, and the salt shaker didn’t work. I opened it to find wet clumped salt. We were informed they stopped putting rice in the salt. After my complaint, which apparently was not the first, has resulted in a management decision to start adding rice to the salt shakers. Duh! To add insult the bathrooms were disgusting. Makes you wonder what the kitchen is like. No manager no nothing. Server was great though.

Rest Room Trouble

My family were at a retreat at Tanglewood, TX. We went to eat at the Cracker Barrel in Sherman, TX. The food and service were fine. My question: Why were the two stalls in the ladies' room so tight, I had to stand on the toilet to close the door? I am averaged sized. A plus size woman would have had to leave the stall opened to use it, please get this fixed

Ordered for pickup at South Portland…

Ordered for pickup at South Portland Maine location. I can’t even put into words as to how terrible it was..
Waited 25 mins over the time for pickup before going in. Wasn’t ready, or so they said .
When we got the order and left the area
The food was stone cold . Old and just nasty .
What a complete failure of representing a long standing restaurant
I wouldn’t even consider giving this to a dog . This food was so bad. We threw it out !!!!!!!!!
We wanted a warm well rounded meal and was so disappointed!
Cracker Barrel I know you can do better !!
Won’t be back ….
