I had a minor bump in a hire car in New…
I had a minor bump in a hire car in New Zealand, no third party involved just a gate post clasp on reversing. I reported the incident whilst there and on return of the car. There was slight damage to the tailgate and car badge. Budget were quite laid back took photos and an excess deposit pending the final repair bill.
The claim form allows you to build the details, photos etc as you gather the information. Once all of the information was gathered I submitted the claim which was settled without quibble. Cover4rentals was recommended to me and I have no hesitation in passing on that recommendation.

Excellent customer service and fair claims handling
I recently made a claim with Cover4Rentals following damage to a rental car. Initially, my claim was declined because the rental company appeared to fall under one of the policy exclusions.
After reviewing my rental documents, I realised that the situation was more complex. I contacted the claims team and provided additional evidence, including my booking voucher, rental agreement and payment documents. My claim was reopened and reviewed again.
I was particularly impressed that the claims team looked at the evidence carefully instead of simply relying on the initial decision. They requested additional documents where necessary, arranged an identity verification, and kept me informed throughout the process.
In the end, my claim was approved and paid in full. The entire process was professional, transparent and fair.
A special thank you to Mandeep, who handled my case with professionalism, courtesy and attention to detail. Her willingness to review the evidence objectively made a real difference.
Based on my experience, I would not hesitate to use Cover4Rentals again and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for reliable excess insurance for rental cars.
