Ok I received a Colorway BK3M e bike as…
Let me start off by saying that if I were reviewing the bike I would rate it at 3.8 to 4 stars, The only real thing wrong with the bike is, it's kind of under powered but I liked the fit and finish and the build quality. The reason for the 1 star rating is due to the personnel in the "customer support" dept.
Ok I received a Colorway BK3M e bike as a Christmas gift from my wife this past December. I had a good experience with the bike but I didn't really start riding the bike until mid March because winter in Las Vegas can be brutally cold. So by Marxh, Im using the bike regularly and I almost had 300 miles on it by May 2024.
This is abouit when things started going bad. I noticed a strange sound coming from the area of the hub motor and within 3 or 4 days, it was noticable to pedestrians.I had been in contact with Colorway's support within a couple of days but since im in the USA, and their co. is based on Mainland China, the difference in time almost certainly meant that our contacts were usually 12 to 15 hours later.
So a support person Alesia, was telling me that I would be taken care of, just send video of what's going on with the bike. So I attempted to do this one night and every single video I made was too long to be sent so I finally was able to get the video made. In the meantime I know a bike tech and nwhen he heard the sound, he immediately knew that it was either the bearings or the planetary gears nweeded to be replaced.
Now this Alesia person starts suggesting that it might be my derailer that is making that sound and she sent a video with 2 men from the factory but they were speaking Chinese and to me they looked uncomfortable even being there but she actually said she thought it was the derailer. This bike by this time had become my main mode of Transportation so I couldn't just shut it down, and it progressed to the point of when I used the throttle, you could hear the motor whirring but it wouldn't spin the back wheel.
Now Alesia tells me to try to find a bike shop here in Vegas to fix it but local shops were either unable or unwilling to work on the bike. We determined that I most likely needed to replace the hub motor. She told me they didn;t have a motor in stoick for my bike. But they are still selling bikes that use the same motor as mine has.IThis is when Colorway support, Alesia basically ghosted me. I havent' heard from her since May 29, and I was gonna let it go and be a lesson to me until I saw this Trustpilot site talking about Hitway e bikes. Colorway is the EU version of Hitway and all their models look like Hitways they even use the same model designations. I can't even get any other person from Colorway to e mail me back. I guess since the whole Pacific Ocean separates us, they feel like they can do what they want with no consequences
