I received 2 letters this year stating it's time for another Cologard test. My last one was 3 yrs ago. Results were negative. I had a colonoscopy within the past 10 years. Results were negative.... See more

I rate Cologuard a minus one, a zero
Well. I am one of many who had a positive. I was scared, and did some reading online about complaints. MANY people have had a positive reading and later found out nothing was wrong (just some polyps). It's near Thanksgiving ...all the holidays I enjoy so much. Now I have this dark cloud hanging over my head until I can call my doctor on Monday and see if I can get a colonoscopy as soon as possible. As far as pricing, I was shocked to hear many insurances won't cover Cologuard. Now I have to also wait until Monday to call our insurance. NEVER again! UPDATE: So, I have my colonoscopy tomorrow. I was able to get in a week after the results from Cologuard. BUT this whole week has been a nightmare. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it. I will NEVER have a Cologuard test again. It is not worth all this anxiety. UPDATE: I had the colonoscopy the following week. 3-tiny little polyps...THAT IS ALL. Don't waste your time and money on this test. Have the colonoscopy. With Cologuard, there are too many false positives (and negatives). I worried myself sick for a week...and for what!!! NEVER AGAIN. This should be taken off the market.

twice I have called the cologuard phone number due to set up shipping and second time to report that UPS had not picked up package per time I was given...both times the phone person was so pleasant and helpful...in addition they kept me updated frequently as to the progress of their work...this I appreciated this so much...
Cologuard is not cover by insurnace and…
Cologuard is not cover by insurnace and cost $681.
The result is also not accurate and they keeps on calling you and leaving messages. They do not inform you beofre hand how much it will cost. Avoid it at all cost. Unable to understand why the Dr would recommend something which is so expensive, not accurate, and not cover by insurance.
The test
The test, the billing, the company are all crappy. I've used other brands of the same basic test and they're much better. Cologuard makes you carry a box of your s*$t into the shipping drop-off place. How fun is that. That makes it not all all private either. The test is hugely wasteful of materials. Worse than that they try to grab a crapload of money for the fun of dealing with this. Well, they've gotta pay for those damn ads on tv somehow. If you have a choice go with any other brand, avoid Cologuard.
BEFORE I did the Cologuard test
BEFORE I did the Cologuard test, I CONFIRMED with Blue Shield of California by recorded phone call that the test would be covered, because I did not want to poop in a can without being sure my insurance would cover it. The Blue Shield rep was very nice, researched my question for several minutes while I waited on hold, and told me that Exact Sciences (makers of the Cologuard test) is an approved provider and that the test would be covered, because it was part of my annual preventive care visit and because I had not had any other colorectal cancer screening this year. She said she would put a note in my account about this conversation, and she gave me a reference number for the phone call. She said that if I have any problems with billing that I could refer to this conversation. After all this, Blue Shield ended up denying to pay for the test, $681.00, by stating that Exact Sciences is an out-of-state provider. BE WARNED that no matter what your insurance company tells you before you do the Cologuard test, you could end up being billed for it anyway. Next time, I'll stick to the poop-on-card test, because if that kind of test positive, I'll need a colonoscopy anyway, just the same as with the Cologuard test, but I won't be out an extra $681.00 that the Cologuard test costs. Seriously, the Cologuard test is fancy-shmancy, but you'll end up with the same outcome if you get a positive or questionable result = a colonoscopy. Note that ". . . the Cologuard test is not recommended by GCSA physicians as a replacement for a colonoscopy." So why risk $681.00 unnecessarily? You don't seem to gain anything worth $681.00 with a Cologuard test over an ordinary, simple, much cheaper poop-on-card occult blood test.
Cologuard Customer Service people are…
Cologuard Customer Service people are down right awful. They lie, misinform and generally rude.
The customer service & supervisors also do not listen to the patient to understand their concerns.
I have had to repeat myself multiple times to get my point across.
It is such a frustrating company to deal with that the regular colonoscopy would be easier to go thru.
Cologuard is not accurate
took the cologuard test and it came back positive (false)...had to have a colonoscopy (two months later due to availability of openings) all was fine, no cancer, no polyps. Two months of anxiety thinking I could have had cancer. I should have just gotten the colonoscopy to begin with.
Relentless daily harassment
3 months ago, after questioning my Doctor as to how this would yield valid results, I gave in and said go ahead order Cologuard by Exact Sciences knowing nothing about this product.
I got home did some research and the next morning called my Dr and told them to cancel, due to so many negative reviews.
Well every single day since then, I have received a call, which I have ignored. I also received the kit awhile back which I threw away. This was a canceled order, but cologuard by Exact Sciences is still pushing it. This outfit is very pushy and hungry for you to try their product which looks to be inexact, and questionable at best with no supporting documents when there is a positive result. I think the Dr and/or staff get a kickback on every order placed
My Dad did routine colon cancer exams…
My Dad did routine colon cancer exams for 5 years and used cologuard during Covid.
Died 6 months after “reported” negative results with stage 3 cancer in colon, lungs, and kidney.
Could be a fluke. May have been rapid from a lung or kidney start but wouldn’t recommend at this point.
BONEHEADS BILLED ME $681.00!
Really gets under my skin. They are so inefficient. I actually got on the phone with a cologuard "customer service" rep to verify my insurance before sending the kit. THEY STILL BILLED ME. If that can't get this right, it's highly doubtful that could administer a test effectively.
Annual Sample Testing
Look what I received via my Doorman of my residence...a HUGE Cologuard blue/white box. I opened the box to PLASTIC containers & excessive "over the top" packaging much to my chagrin.
My samples over the years have been returned efficiently & simply anonmously via prepaid returned envelope. The audacity to return a HUGE box with plastic items insults my intelligence...with no regard to "single use" plastic & our overflowing landfills. Im.quite sure Cologuard has increased their revenue streams much to their Shareholders delight & why I continue to see TV advertising this product. No wonder Americas healthcare system is the most expensive on the planet Earth with this thoughtful design product.

This company spams me night and day and worse CALLS me non-stop.
It's a SCAM. They say insurance will pay, but if they don't they want you to pay over $650 for their stupid test. You could get a virtual colonoscopy for that price.
But the non-stop calling using robo-numbers - I PRAY some attorney sues the living pants off this company.
Do not do Colorguard!!!
Do not do Colorguard!!!! It will cost you more if you have a positive result!! The stress is not worth it. Schedule a colonoscopy!!!!
Nope
Nope, nope, nope. My PCP talked me into taking the ColoGuard test just because of my age, 71. Of course my test came back positive which required a colonoscopy to rule out cancer. Folks, the bowel prep procedure is awful! Turns out I had 3 NON CANCEROUS SMALL polyps. The doctor that did my colonoscopy does not like ColoGuard because of the false positives, he says the false positive rate is a lot higher than advertised. My advice is to go ahead and see a proctologist if you have concerns, let him decide if you need a colonoscopy. ColoGuard is a good idea but it needs work.
Deceptive company- I owe $681
I got slapped with a bill of 681.00 after being led to believe I wouldn't have to pay for this test. Not worth it!
It is so difficult to use and have to do again
It is so difficult to use.
poop into container
grab a sample from the poop and put into a smaller tube
Put liquid into container
Go to ups and mail
Then I get a call from colin guard that the sample was too large and I have to do it again
Their commercial says test could be right or wrong
The old way - put a small smeer on a strip and close and send off. Much easier
A horrible way to set up test
Dissatisfied customer
Gastroenterologists will warn you…
Gastroenterologists will warn you against Cologuard. You'll throw a positive if you ate cucumbers, beets, red meat, cantaloupe. Then the results come in via text message. When you get a positive result, they include a stupid video about how you shouldn't panic. I personally believe if they are going to deliver a positive result, they need to call the patient instead of letting the person wonder what it all means and go down the google rabbit hole. Their own "statistics" don't make sense. They say that there is only a 13% false positive rate but the video you watch when you get a positive says 4% end up being cancer, 45% are polyps and 41% are nothing. Considering the number of bad experiences, do yourself a favor and just get the colonoscopy.
False positives have to be much higher…
False positives have to be much higher than they are reporting. Their employee told me himself that their tests accuracy are constantly being worked on? I recently had a false positive result, which per cologaurd means you have either colon or colorectal cancer? Three weeks of anxiety, and a colonoscopy later, that is not the case at all! Perfectly clean colon and a clean bill of health! Do not waste $681 on this cologaurd test! Only way to be sure is a colonoscopy, which has to be done if you get an incorrect cologaurd test, and $681 dollars later. Doctors should be informing patients to stay away from the cologaurd test, don’t waste your or your insurance money!!
The wait time after receiving your…
The wait time after receiving your stool sample. It has been too long keeping a person waiting for the results. They need to iimprove the wait time! They suck awful place!
FALSE POSITIVE - DON'T RECOMMEND
Had ColoGuard test come back positive for Cancer. Had a 5 month wait to get into a prominent gastroenterologist surgeon. No Cancer. This test should be removed from the market. Too many false positives.
