CoinPayments has stolen 65 euro's for a maintanance fee "to encourage me to make use of my wallet more" is what Jennie, a member of their personal literally wrote to me in a e-mail. Actual text: "The goal is to encourage active use of the platform" and she said it is in the User Agreement and the entire world knows nobody actually reads that shit.
I have send multiple e-mails to them because NEM isn't supported anymore but now it seems that I just lost that money because I tried to wire it but they couldn't help me with it and now I don't see it in my wallet anymore.

First, to be clear: the amount in question was not lost as part of a wire transfer or conversion attempt. It was a Custodial Maintenance Fee, applied separately from and unrelated to your request to convert XEM to XRP. That conversion request was not able to be completed because XEM has been delisted and no longer holds tradable value on our platform — no funds were moved or lost as a result of that request itself.
The Custodial Maintenance Fee is outlined in Section 3.2 of our User Agreement (Dormant Account Fees), which applies to accounts with no login, transaction, or withdrawal activity for an extended period. This fee was assessed in accordance with that policy.
We understand it's frustrating to encounter a fee you weren't expecting, and we take feedback about the clarity of our communications seriously. Your ticket (#853843) has been reviewed by our team, and we stand by the fee as correctly applied under our current terms.

I want to clarify one thing: the delivery of your key is handled directly by the merchant you purchased from, not by us. We process the payment, but the merchant is responsible for fulfilling the order and sending the product once payment is confirmed. It sounds like the merchant only sent the key after you opened a ticket with them

"CoinPayments uses deceptive and predatory practices regarding refunds. Because of a 0.01 USDT underpayment error on a transaction, their system forced me to pay an automated 0.02 BNB fee, claiming textually it was for 'miner gas fees' to process my refund.
Anyone with basic blockchain knowledge knows that a standard transfer on the Binance Smart Chain (BEP20) network costs less than $0.10. CoinPayments kept the full 0.02 BNB (around $12) to refund a $6 payment!
To make it worse, their manual support (Ticket 853009) lied to my face, claiming that the entire 0.02 BNB was paid directly to the blockchain miners. This is technically a lie. They are masking an abusive, hidden administrative fee as network gas. They returned my USDT but stole my BNB.
Avoid this gateway at all costs if you don't want your funds held hostage by absurd corporate fees.

We want to clarify that CoinPayments is a payment gateway, and we are not the merchant you purchased from. The payment shortfall and any additional fee requirements are related to how blockchain transactions work — small differences in the amount received (due to network fees or exchange rates) can sometimes result in a payment being flagged as incomplete.
The good news is that you don't need to pay any additional gas fees to resolve this. We strongly encourage you to reach out directly to the merchant, they have the ability to accept your short payment and release your purchase without requiring any further payment from you.
SCAM ALERT: They demand 0.02 ETH ( $80 ) in "gas fee" to withdraw $275 - Gas actually costs $0.01
I am writing this to warn everyone away from CoinPayments. They are holding my funds hostage with an impossible and fraudulent "gas fee" demand.
My account balance: $321 USD across USDC, USDT, TRX, SHIB, and FIRO.
The Issue: Whenever I try to withdraw my funds or convert to a gift card, they refuse and send this message: "You don't have enough gas to make the withdrawals. Kindly send 0.02 ETH to each wallet address below" (two addresses = $80 USD total).
Why This Is a Scam:
1) The fee is 4,000%-8,000% higher than actual network cost. Current ETH gas fees are approximately
0.01
−
2) 0.01−2.00 per transaction. They are demanding $40 PER WALLET.
3) Legitimate platforms deduct gas fees from the transaction or let you add ETH to YOUR OWN wallet. They want me to send ETH directly to THEIR addresses, which is not how gas fees work.
4) Internal conversions/gift cards don't require blockchain gas fees at all. They are lying about the technical requirements.
I am not alone in this experience. Multiple other users have reported the exact same "0.02 ETH" demand on Trustpilot:
Abebe Tadesse (Sep 2025): Demanded 0.02 ETH to refund $14.33 USDT - fee was MORE than the refund itself
Selman (May 2025): Impossible refund requirements where gas fees exceed small transactions, creating a "money trap"
The support response when confronted: "It's our standard gas fee for ERC20 token transactions" - a provably false statement.
Do not trust the 3.9 star rating. Many positive reviews appear to be fake or from users who never needed to withdraw funds. Search Trustpilot for "0.02 ETH" and you will find dozens of identical complaints.
Bottom line: Your money is NOT safe here. They will let you deposit, but getting your funds out requires paying ransom fees that are hundreds of times higher than actual blockchain costs. Consider any funds sent to CoinPayments as potentially lost forever.

Your primary funds are held as USDC on the Ethereum (ERC20) network, split across two custodial wallet addresses. Because each address is a separate on-chain account, each requires its own ETH to authorize the withdrawal transaction. This is a requirement of how the Ethereum network operates, not a fee we collect.
We understand 0.02 ETH per wallet feels steep compared to what gas trackers show for simple transfers. The amount accounts for the complexity of moving ERC20 tokens from custodial wallets.
To move forward, you will need to top up each wallet address with 0.02 ETH. Once funded, your withdrawal can be processed.

Pure Corporate Theft - Keeping Customer Funds with Fake Promises!
CoinPayments is running a legal scam. I had a short transaction (Ticket Number: 852472) where my 26 USDT was trapped in their gateway because the invoice expired. First, their support agent Anthony Miller kept wasting my time, telling me to contact the merchant or pay double the amount in ETH gas fees. After doing all the legwork and proving the merchant no longer uses them, the agent suddenly claims "I didn't notice the transaction was from October, we only do refunds for 90 days." They knowingly watched me struggle while my money was sitting in their custody, only to use a cheap policy loophole to steal my $26. Absolute day-light robbery. Avoid using this gateway at all costs! They will lock your funds and mock you

This situation began because the invoice was underpaid. The required amount was 30.23 USDT.ERC20 and 26.00 USDT.ERC20 was received. When a short payment occurs, our system immediately notifies the sender and makes a refund link available. That notification went out at the time of the October 2025 transaction.
The refund request was not raised until May 2026, seven months later, which is outside our 90-day refund window as outlined in our User Agreement. Separately, ERC20 refunds require a blockchain gas fee. In this case that fee exceeded the refundable amount, which is why we suggested having the merchant reopen the invoice to accept the short payment as an alternative path that would have avoided the fee entirely.
Our team pursued that option in good faith, and we appreciate that the buyer followed through on contacting the merchant. Unfortunately, the merchant was unable to assist, which exhausted the available options.
We acknowledge that the 90-day policy should have been raised earlier in the support thread, and we are sorry that it wasn't. However, the funds were not withheld or stolen. A refund path was available and communicated at the time of the short payment.
We have also launched a new platform with significantly lower refund fees, which we hope prevents situations like this going forward.
