I apologize for the experience you had with making a payment. In this situation, the only options are to ask the merchant if they’ll accept the short amount, or proceed with a refund. Refunds may be lower due to network and processing costs involved in returning the funds.

Thank you for your feedback.

We understand how frustrating this situation must have been. The issue occurred because USDT (ERC20) was sent instead of USDC (ERC20). While they use the same network, they are different tokens, and this type of error requires a manual recovery process, which can involve additional fees and delays.

We do aim to assist wherever we can in these cases, but unfortunately the fees applied reflect the resources required to recover the funds rather than a standard transaction cost.

I paid the full amount

I paid the full amount, but after the payment it turned out that 0.000099 USDT was missing.
I tried to resolve this issue with support, but they told me that I had to wait 1–2 hours for it to be resolved.

As a result, I had to send another 0.0001 USDT and spend about 3 USDT on the transaction fee.

I do not recommend dealing with them.

Watch out for out-of-proportion-dormant-fee

I would like to share my experience regarding CoinPayments’ dormant account fee policy.

Both my account and my wife’s account were deemed “dormant” after 12 months of inactivity. As a result, a 5.5% annual inactivity fee was applied on our BTC holdings.

Concretely:
– 0.2 BTC was held per account
– 5.5% equals 0.011 BTC per year
– One fee was applied to my account
– Two fees were applied to my wife’s account

In total, approx 0.033 BTC was deducted.

The fee is clearly described in their User Agreement. However, no individualized prior warning was sent before the deductions were applied.

While CoinPayments maintains that the fee is contractually valid and commercially justified, I find a recurring 5.5% annual deduction on digital assets to be extremely high for what is described as an administrative inactivity charge.

After correspondence with their Legal Department, reimbursement was refused.

I have since withdrawn all remaining assets to self-custody.

I encourage users to carefully review the dormant account policy before leaving assets inactive on the platform.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback.

The dormant account fee you mentioned is outlined in our User Agreement and applies after 12 consecutive months of account inactivity, with the fee calculated as 5.5% of the assets held in the dormant account per year. Activity is defined as conducting a transaction such as a deposit, withdrawal, or conversion, and simply logging in does not reset the inactivity period.

While the fee structure is contractually disclosed in the agreement accepted when using the platform, we understand that policies like this can feel frustrating, especially when they impact long-held assets. Your feedback regarding the level of the fee and the lack of individualized reminders has been noted and shared internally for review.

We appreciate you highlighting this for other users and encourage anyone using the platform to review the applicable terms and maintain account activity or withdraw assets to avoid dormant account fees in the future.

If you have any remaining questions or concerns, you’re welcome to contact our support team directly so we can review your case further.
