A woman engineer carried out my copper to fibre installation. She listened to my concerns and together we arrived at a solution which suited me very well. Together with her partner, she then completed the installation quickly, efficiently and cleanly. A great service.

The hard working engineer.
He arrived on time, explained exactly what he was going to do and afterward explained everything I needed to know.

I currently have FTTC broadband connection through Open Reach with a slow but steady connection.
Cityfibre approached me in January 2024 saying they were able to provide FTTP to my property. I immediately put in an order through Zen, a well regarded ISP, only to be given an installation date 3 months later!
This was pushed back several times by CityFibre until Zen finally declared six months later that they were unable to provide me with a FTTP connection.
I had 3 further frustrating and fruitless attempts with different ISPs all with the same experience and outcome.
Finally I entered into a contract with Rise Fibre to provide a 1GB connection. To my delight (and surprise), the CityFibre engineer arrived as scheduled and carried out an installation of indoor connection very expeditiously.
At this point he realised that there was a fault with the external connection between the property and the cabinet a couple of streets away. He was not equipped to deal with this.
I have now been advised that the repair may take up to 12 (?working) days to resolve and a further visit by an engineer to set things up!
The external connection must have been installed in the past 2-3 months. Do they not test it to ensure it works?
Given my past experience of dealing with CityFibre, I expect a request for further information so they can look into the matter.
However, as has happened before, the next step by CityFibre is to refer me back to my ISP as they don't deal with private customers. There is no further engagement.
It has been two and a half years since Cityfibre contacted me offering me FTTP and they still haven’t delivered.
Is this consistent with a company that enjoys a favourable Trustpilot rating?
Update (8/7/26)
As expected, Cityfibre sent their standard response requesting “further information “ which I supplied. They are provisionally sending out an engineer (all day appointment) on 10/7/26 to look into the matter. This may be cancelled depending on the work logistics of the day!
10 day delay to resolve a fault of their creation. No guarantee that it will will happen that day.
My advice is to consider other providers if you have a choice.

Constantly losing my internet, with this company. Everyone gets the same response, from company, so, it’s a bot, responding!! I’m with Home Telecom, and seriously considering going with one of the bigger companies.
