Booked as a Father’s day gift the Bacon Butty and Tea. Both parents were thrilled. Beautiful countryside and the Bacon Bap was huge such a lovely experience .

As always the journey was exceptional and the staff always smiling. Myself and family members just loved the train rides. We live locally and to spend 2 hours at night or day on the train is just bliss listening to the chug chug of the train moving and the whistle x

Both of us had a great time ,food was fantastic that's good coming from a ex chef lol , This was a early birthday present for my wife for the 25th ,the only let down was I did ask if the staff could sing Happy birthday to my wife but sadly this didn't happen:( but it didn't spoil our day .

Great to see everyone in uniform and well presented. Really well organised, everybody happy to help, service on the train was excellent. The curry was very tasty.
Ride through the countryside was nice.
Plenty of car parking space. Maybe could have a few more disabled places.
Maybe for future, if there was somewhere to get of and stretch legs while the engine changed ends.

Booked for the breakfast train which proved to be excellent. Food very good and served piping hot. Comfortable spacious seats. Staff very pleasant and enthusiastic. All at a very reasonable price. Well done would highly recommend

Fantastic Experience Staff were Amazing and atentative at all times of the Journey the food was fantastic it was such a pleasure from start to finnish and were allready looking for dates to try other evening's on there in the near future

Aww we had such a lovely trip on tge Churnet Valley steam train. We had cake and a drink and it was a beautiful little outing . I'd highly recommend going. I'll definitely go again. Haven't been on a steam train for years and we thoroughly enjoyed it

We booked for 4 of us on the Greek Meal Dining Evening, and our experience from start to finish was just fantastic - free parking; the lovely restored Station @ Froghall; the fantastic Dining Car (Nicholas); the food, which was delicious and fresh, and above all, the service provided by the staff, which was just wonderful - they were all very attentive and amiable, which made our trip most memorable. This was our first outing to Churnet Valley, but we all said that we want to return and sample more delights in the future!

We really enjoyed the train trip lasting more than hour. The scenery was beautiful & saw some wild life!! Eating our jacket potatoes on board was a different experience

Pie and mash train. Excellent value and a smashing night out. I also indulged in some of the Prim and Poppa Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Brownie to add to my waistline! 10/10

Delightful journey through the Staffordshire Moorlands countryside. Well organised with friendly staff, good service and tasty food. The lamb bhuna is delicious! We enjoyed our journey on the Bombay Express immensely! We can’t wait to try another dining experience aboard the Churnet Valley Railway!

Went on the Bombay Express on 22nd August 2026. What a fantastic experience!. The booking was excellent, and the information in advance was very good. On arrival we were directed to our carriage, and then our seats. A good drinks menu, and bottled water was included. The meal was lovely, great tastes and good portions. I must congratulate all the staff, they were professional, efficient friendly and welcoming. The route is very interesting, and it was a great way to spend a relaxed Saturday afternoon.

Friendly, polite, excellent morning and lovely food makes the whole experience one that we will never forget. Superb setting and journey.
