Only a 1 star from me I'm afraid

Only a 1 star from me I'm afraid. Churchill were great at the beginning on a non fault accident.
However nearly one month on when I thought my vehicle was being repaired. I have since found out that the vehicle is still in situu at the breakdown recovery yard. Apparently Churchill do not have a garage within the Wirral area that will fix the broken parts.
The insurance company Churchill take £640 a year knowing full well they will not have any garages to fix any broken parts.
Guess what you have to go out and source your vehicle yourself. What is more interesting is that Churchill have taken 24 day's to inform me of this matter. On my profile notes it states. Customer will find his own garage. I think my business will go elsewhere come May 25.

Ditch Churchill Insurance for Good

The legal expenses insurance with Churchill is not worth the paper it is written on. Their legal insurance is run by DLG Legal Services. They do just about everything under the sun not to cover qualifying incidents. For example, for breach of contract, they only cover the breach of those contracts signed after a policyholder taking out their policy.
If you take out a contract a day before the starting date of your policy with DLG, Churchill, you are not covered. There are other ridiculous exclusions like this in their policy.
I will ditch them now for good.

Churchill, OH NO!!! AVOID

A third party ran into the back of my car, I was told this would be a non-fault claim and that I could claim from the 3rd party insurer. After receiving several messages and emails from Churchill, their authorised repairer and the hire car company I was told there was a chance it could affect my protected NCD and my premiums and that I had to do all the organising of coutesy car and collection of my vehicle for repair plus I was told it was up to me to chase the third party insurer....I thought that is why I paid Churchill a premium i.e. to save myself hassle?
They insisted on sending emails and text messages despite the fact I asked them to leave any messages on my landline or call a different number.
When I took out the policy I had checked the 'do not auto renew' box (I always do) but the policy said it would auto-renew with the card details they hold which I understand they will do even if you cancel that card. I have again explained I do not want auto renew and they have said they will remove it...updated papers are hopefully being organised.
Also some of their staff ask you to speak slowly then they rattle off their script e.g. terms and conditions so fast you cannot understand them!

Went elsewhere.

Gained quote for my Mum through a comparison site. Plenty of time to go through it with her as quote was valid until her renewal. Set up an account on Churchill so that she could access quote. Yesterday, 10 days prior to renewal, Mum wanted to go ahead and pay for her annual insurance. We log into her account. Can see the quote saying it expires on 22/11 but 'can't be accessed at this time. Try later' No problem. Try again today still can't access so we phone. The employee could see the quote and same quote number but apparently on her screen the quote had expired and the date it was created was 2 days earlier. I can quite clearly see that there are 9 days left on the quote. She was more than happy to give me a new quote but it wouldn't be at that price. Told her we'd go elsewhere. Then it seemed it was difficult for her to understand as the line was bad. We used a different company listed on the comparison site and it took about 3 mins to sort.
Went to try and delete the Churchill account as no longer needed and the quote has been removed 🤣.
Transparency with future customers would be a much better idea. Poor effort.

Auto renewal premium up 95%!

Been a loyal customer for years. Usually goes up about 20% but I've managed to haggle or there's some room for adjustments to bring it down. This year, up by 95% despite no claims or changes, with the only reason given being "external costs". Given that I can get for less elsewhere, definitely moving this time.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Unable to speak to a person. All done via What’s App chat. Currently trying to cancel my car insurance policies as renewal prices were ridiculous. Currently been in this What’s App chat for 1 hr 20 mins and only 1 policy cancelled so far another house to go I guess. Completely inefficient service. Have gone with Admiral…. Much better price and can spk to a human. Never again Churchill you really need to take note of what people are saying. Does your CEO ever read any of these reviews I wonder?

What is wrong with this poorly run once…

What is wrong with this poorly run once proud company?
Several 20 minute waits on telephone throughout the day!
Absolutely useless website. Not sending emails for passcodes not once but 5 times!
Both my Car and Home Insurance will not be renewed with this inept, poorly run company.

I'm claiming against Churchill's

I'm claiming against Churchill's. I decided to deal with them directly for the claim. After first using an accident management company (which I wish I stuck with now). Within the cooling off period I moved over. They said they can provide all the services and preferred dealing with claims themselves. I raised a question about what would happen as I started with making a claim then moved over. The froze the claim validating everything. Noone would speak to me yet its my car. Constantly asking the question 4/days later they said its unlocked. No one came back to me they raised a cheque and wouldn't talk to me about the valuation. Tkld me to return to previous company I dealt with. In the process getting nowhere with them I agreed to the low valuation. This was on 10 july
Bank details given. On 24th July i called to ask where the payment was. Told me it was a delay on their part and will get back to me.
Having told me they would do nothing with the valuation it would not be looked at again I start getting calls from their engineers department lowering the value of my car , which had been agreed and accepted by churchills.
Im still waiting for the the payment. This started 23rd May .... and still going after several complaints endless investigations calls and emails. Totally frustrating and ridiculous Churchill's. Will definitely think twice about taking any kind of insurance with them .

Breakdown cover - long wait given wrong wait time

Breakdown cover pathetic… despatch mechanic from Cardiff for car not starting in Cheltenham! Technology said it would 50 mins… reality was 1hr 20mins.
Tried to change my address and wanted to charge me twice; once for the change AND also for doing it by phone.
Tried to complain about the breakdown waiting time.. complete fiasco with call centre in ??? guessing Africa.. poor , slow almost obstructive…

Dreadful service. Avoid!

My car was badly damaged while parked by a drunk driver who was arrested and admitted liability. Churchill made me deal directly with the repairers and Auxillis to get a hire car. I paid extra for their policy plus.
I drive a new Volvo XC 40. They tried to give me a small dirty 1L Hyundai which I refused as my car was going to be off the road for a few weeks.
At no point were Churchill helpful. The 3rd party admitted liability 3 months ago. I chased Churchill on July 31st and they said they would get the case closed (3 months later) as it was affecting new policy quotes as my insurance was approaching renewal.
They gave me £100 compensation which barely covers the trouble i've had with them
DO NOT USE THEM!
Pay more and use a good insurance company.

Do not buy from Church hill

Do not buy from Church hill. This car insurance company is absolutely terrible service. On 2 non faults they didnt deal with my case. Infact on one of them the other persons (person who did the fault) insurnace company contacted me and organised a replacemnt car, they repaired the damage on my car etc- my own insurance company did not even do anything on my case for weeks. The second non fault again churchill did nothing for over a year. They kept having their agents email the fault party without getting response but never escalated this other then 3 emails in the whole year. They did this so they can prolong the case to increase my insurnace to double and affect me getting cheaper quote elsewhere. After talking for months about this I dealt with the car repair myself and saved myself over £1230 on car insurnace by switching elsewhere. Church Hill is a rip off company, customer service is so bad that if I could give 0 zero I would. Anytime you talk to this department they put you on hold and keep blaming each department on each other. No one takes accountability for the let downs and your left to pay for their lack of service. DO NOT GET CAR INSURANCE WITH THIS COMPANY! Absolutely rip offs.

I got my car fixed myself

I got my car fixed myself. I didn’t have time to wait for the process. I gave them my invoice and schedule of works and they asked for photos before and after. I said I had taken a couple for my own for evidence but that’s all I had. They said that the photos were iinsuffucient. Now they refuse to pay out. I’m £6k+ out of pocket. I would have paid the other cars damage so I didn’t lose no claims. Now I have to go to the ombudsman. It has taken me months of chasing to get this information too. I’m now with Admiral.

Avoid this company at all costs

Complete and utter shambles. The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.

Changed my registration plate, underwriters then refused to insure the car so I had no choice but to cancel the policy.

I was advised all further charges would be waived. Fast forward 5 months and I find out as part of a mortgage application that Churchill have lodged a default on my credit profile. I am now unable to remortgage my house at a competitive rates.

They have completely screwed my credit score through no fault of my own.

Multiple mistakes on the policy/inability of staff to sort simple errors Churchil had made

Multiple mistakes on the policy.. spent four lengthy phone calls 30 to 40 minutes each trying to sort out the MAJOR errors on the policy documents [including engine size /fuel/ expiry of poilcy/dates ..etc]

Repeated the same details to each call handler and was still full of mistakes ,..
then told "oh there's a charge on you making the changers to the policy "

then another call handler told me " would i like the quote" after 30 minutes of discussing the errors!!!

then told " there's an error on your account , you will have to go back and get a new poilicy"

Unbelievably bad customer service, product knowledge, ability to sort simple errors out [so the Insurance certificate was legally valid ] and FRUSTRATION BEYOND BELIEF

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would, absolutely awful customer service when going through the process of a claim. It is not good enough to pay for a service you simply do not get. I have been trying to process a claim now for almost 1 year - 1 year of complete stress with this company. You get sent around in circles and are at the mercy of the next poorly trained call services team member - I have had a different answer every single time I have rung now. We have enough evidence, Churchill have told us three times we have enough evidence for our claim but they are simply not good enough at finalising it, I have had to chase almost three times a week. A hard task when working full time and poor hours of operating services. I see no other option but to report the company to the financial ombudsman and will be doing so imminently.
DO NOT INSURE WITH CHURCHILL EVEN IF IT IS CHEAPER!!!

Churchill have walked my husband's car…

Churchill have walked my husband's car insurance up by nearly two hundred pounds a year. He rang them up and there was hardly any negotiation on the price, he has never had a claim or been in an accident and has been with Churchill two years. My husband isn't very happy with them and we have found a cheaper quote with another company so bye Churchill and I won't be getting my house insurance this year either disgusting company.

Not worth one star tbh

Not worth one star tbh.

Scam liars disgraceful shambles stressful others say.

My description would be even worse.

Well I’m not insured with them but their insured drove straight into me. She was on wrong side road cutting a corner. I’m now £400 out of pocket excess as she is disputing the damage she caused despite photos taken at scene.
She admitted fault by saying she did not see me. Photos clearly show she on wrong side road.
Spoke to Churchill twice now but cannot tell me how long it will take for them to investigate.
Said it could take some time.
From tv adverts thought Churchill were supposed to be one of better companies.
But I would now never use them and would strongly advise all those that read this review to go elsewhere.

TAKE HEED AND STEER CLEAR OF THEM
