all good, except for one issue
Got the free movie like others from Vodefone and was pleasantly surprised on how easy it was to register and order my rental.
I really enjoyed the experience and the movie I rented played with no issue. I don't often do digital rentals, but I would certainly check CHILI If I were deciding too.
my minor grip is the lack of subtitle options. the movie I chose Le Mans have sections in Italian and French so subtitles would have been helpful.
in summary I would use again (especially if I come across more discount codes), but I would be selective about what I watch in case subtitles are required.

Used the Vodafone voucher and had no problems with it. It froze twice for a couple of seconds when we rented a half price movie the second night, but otherwise everything was great. It’s certainly good to have a bit of competition for Amazon for renting newer movies.

Very poor quality!!
Very poor quality!!! Like others I recieved a free code with Vodafone and I tried watching bad boys for life. Kept buffering every few seconds so I changed from HD to SD and same thing happened. I have very high internet speed and no problem streaming through other services like Netflix so that's not the problem. I'm so glad I didn't pay for this!!! Written an email to them to complain, will not use this terrible service again, AVOID!!!

interruption while streaming may be related to temporary connection problems. Our checks showed that your internet connection was just above sufficient for streaming (1 Mbps).
We suggest that you try to watch your movie again making sure you are close to the WiFi source and that you do not have any other devices connected to the Internet that could interfere with the smoothness of the viewing. Ok for free but not worth paying for
Glad it was a freebie Rental from Vodafone. The film kept buffering in action scenes even though I have a good internet connection and other streaming services I use like Amazon, nowtv, Netflix, iPlayer etc always work perfectly so it's the chilli platform rather than my connectivity. Maybe their servers can't cope with extra usage that the Vodafone free offer must be generating! Also there is no chilli app on Roku which is my preferred platform, used on my larger tvs. I certainly wouldn't consider paying for a service that isn't available in Roku tbh... So ok as a freebie but a waste of time for me as a paid service.

Tried and failed to get this going.
Had a Vodafone voucher so thought I would try it out.
Downloaded Chili app on my Amazon Firestick 4K, put in my login details and get a black screen, "FOR YOU" with Info, Logout, Settings, Help.
No movies, no catalogue, nothing.
Rebooted everything, still no joy.
My email address is {redacted} so please check my account and tell me what is wrong.
By the time it works the voucher will have expired. 🙄

Like many others I've tried, and failed, to watch a movie on Chili, tried everything from iOS streaming to Android streaming to actual app on Phillips 4k TV but nothing worked . I can play the trailer but movie just freezes as soon as I try to play, tried waiting for an age to see if it was buffering but nothing . Speed test recommends UHD content when tested so not my connection . More disappointed than anything,you just want to watch a movie and there are so many easier ways to it than Chili unfortunately. Movie rental will expire before I get a chance to watch it 🤪

At the moment, subtitles are not available for all movies found in our entire catalogue. Anyway, some content are available in original language and sometimes they are provided with subtitles.
Inside every content’s data sheet it is possible to check in which language is available the movie and also the presence of subtitles.

Poorly designed diffixult to use
Tried to use a vodaphone voucher on the tv. Spent hours inputting details then it wont let you select film of choice. Revert to laptop, now says discount code has been used. Really poorly designed and difficult to access on a tv. We would have been interested in subscribing but this is too much like hard work.

Got free film off vodaphone, pick movie put code in pressed play and every few seconds it froze then caught them froze what as waste of time and spoilt a nice chilled night with the mrs.

Watched my first movie last night with the vodafone voucher. Very impressed with the picture and sound quality. I watched in 4k through the app on my Sony smart tv with zero buffering issues. I get around 25mbps download speed. Look forward to watching another movie with Chili :)

Thank god it was a freebie.
Got a free movie rental via Vodafone. Watched Fantasy Island and had lots of buffering issues. The film stopped completely after 45 mins. Had to reload it. Do not have this issue with any other movie service, not with gaming, not even with dodgy sports streaming. Servers clearly can’t hack the service they advertise, so glad I didn’t pay to watch it and got a one off freebie...it will be a one off use of this service too as would not pay for it. Avoid.

Abysmal. Unwatchable due to freezing every few seconds like loads of other reviews I have just read. Don’t bother when there’s loads of other much better companies out there. Never had any problems with Rakuten on same devices.
EDIT/response to reply - how is telling you device type etc helpful when you have loads of negative reviews from people with different devices, internet providers etc who are all having similar issues? It’s not just one kind of device it’s your entire service and needs a complete overhaul or closure. Some response taking accountability and advising what is being done to rectify the widespread problems is what is needed

No sound on films
Rented a film to watch on my Sony Bravia KD 55XG9505. The film plays but without sound. Every other app on my TV (such as Netflix) plays with no problem so can only assume the issue is with Chili. Help desk closed over weekend and we rented on a Friday night. So money wasted as the rental is for 48 hours. Will not use again.

Dreadful bandwidth
Rented Invisible Man as I have a Natwest account and receive a 50% discount, so thought I would try CHILI for the first time. Lasted 10 mins as the bandwidth was dreadful and like trying to watch a pirated movie. Even changed it to SD format and was the same. Immediately rented on Amazon and had it perfect in UHD. Won’t be using again.
Update post Chili response:
It was a new Sony Bravia 2020 model with CHILI preinstalled and not posting my e-mail on a public forum. This type of technical response is absolute nonsense. It was a Saturday evening at 7.00pm and your servers could not cope with the traffic. Stop trying to pass the blame on to the user!

Could you please send to us also the model of your Bravia Sony Smart TV? It’s an alphanumeric code you can find behind the Smart TV. I want to rate it zero stars. People should be able to watch free movies its dumb to have us redirected to getting a membership for amazon prime video. If we wanted to pay to watch a movie we want to see then we wouldve went to amazon prime not to this nonsense. Its no point in having this website if u automatically get sent to a different website.
