The Garden Centre has an excellent choice of all types of plants as well as garden furniture, tools, gifts et cetera. I have found their staff to be very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. And there is the added bonus of other shopping areas, e.g. Pavers under the same roof.
However, unless you are actually able to pick up what you want and drive it away on the day, their ordering and delivery leave a lot to be desired. You cannot order online or over the phone. You cannot arrange delivery over the phone. So multiple visits may be required. And when they deliver, their standard practice is to only phone you when they are actually on their way. In this day and age it is ridiculous not to be able to even specify morning or afternoon. They need to get their act together and get in line with the 21st century.

Waited and waited and waited for a tea and scone. People next door to us had been waiting 3/4 of an hour for their lunch and the other side, who were there before us, hadn’t received their food when we left.
Staff moved at a glacial pace….no urgency…no sense that there were people waiting. Trays waiting on the coffee pass to be collected whilst staff stood there and had a chat. At one point I was tempted to go and get my tray myself.
This was a sunny Sunday and admittedly one in the busy Summer holidays. People had booked and others had just wandered in but there was no sense at all that this had been anticipated or catered for in terms of staff expertise, number or application.
I have visited this cafe many times over the years and I have sadly seen a decline in organisation, service and environment. It is a place where the elderly gather and relax but it is far from relaxing. The divided areas are not conducive to a quiet afternoon cup of tea with high ceilings and sections; it feels more like a factory.

The only disability toilet is small, with a door that opens inwards making wheelchair access very difficult. Positioning of rail, soap, dryer all need a rethink.

That said the garden centre is packed with vibrancy and colour and it caters for all gardens large and small. It is such a shame that the cafe does not mirror that vibrancy and congeniality.

Used to be a very regular visitor with family and enjoyed refreshments in the garden cafe and engage with staff. Since the latest refurbishment Summer 22 the changes, system and approach to customers was very poor and we stopped going as much and I gave a disappointing review. We visited on Sunday 15th January 23 and we couldn't fault our visit to the cafe. Service, food, atmosphere, table clearing and customer service was excellent. So glad to see things improved hope it continues.

Ordered several bags of compost for delivery. I received a telephone call the same day to confirm delivery date and delivery was on time and efficient.
