I've had exactly the same experience has lots of people on here. I suggested a reputable checker site but 'Isaac' only wanted to use Check Vehicles and wanted me to buy the report for him. Alarm bells rang when I saw that his Facebook profile was locked and when he insisted on me using Check Vehicles. I'm so pleased I decided to do my research.

FB Vehicle Check Scammer Exchange
Scammer: Hello, is this still available?
Me: Hi. Yes it is. Sorry hadn't seen your message.
Scammer: any work has to be needed in the car/
Me: Not at all.. full BMW history, driven by my wife, new tires, MOT until May 25.
Very fast car especially on Sports mode and economical.
Scammer: okay that's good. all MOT is cleared? can we meet tomorrow? btw before that can u show me the CV report of ur car?
Me: (I send AutoTrader ad post)
Scammer: i'm asking for the checkvehicle report.
it's a complete car inspection report which shows about the criminal, accidental, stolen, theft, and other records for that I only trust the Check Vehicle Report i also don't know about it but recently i sell my car and buyer prefer me to get this report and my experience was soo good on it if u provide me this report and if it comes out clean the next day i'll come to u and finalize the deal on ur price and also if u want i can also pay u extra for the report i just wanted to see this report.
u can get it from
checkvehicles(dot)co(dot)uk this site
Me: I will run the report
Scammer: well if the report comes out clean i can come to u on the next day and finalize the deal on ur price and also i can pay u extra for the report
Me: Great 👍
Scammer: okay just let me know when u get the report
Summary:
Paid £24 for the report on Saturday 2pm which was to come within "10 working hours". So I'm thinking like Tuesday. Nope, it arrives Sunday 1am.
Happened to wake up and started sharing report after masking the VIN.
Lo and behold "couldn't send message" error on FB chats.
Then the penny dropped!
Lost money but had presence of mind to use a virtual card, fake name and old email address.
Already the vehicle is up on reputable auction sites, offering LESS, yet the "buyer" was offering my full asking price £2.5k more. That should have been the first warning. The second obviously should have been to use a known vehicle checking website.
My vulnerability may have been because I want the vehicle sold quickly 😫.
Was a £24 lesson on stop, think and speak to someone what you are doing.
