Proceed with caution

I would strongly advise anyone considering booking through Cheap Fly Shop to proceed with caution.

I booked flights from London to Phuket for myself and my two children after being shown a very competitive fare. Payment was taken immediately, and I received what appeared to be a booking confirmation stating that my booking was confirmed.

However, after taking my money, I was contacted and informed that the flights could not apparently be ticketed at the advertised price. I was then asked to pay an additional £600 per person for alternative flights. This significantly increased the overall cost of the booking and made the original advertised fare seem misleading.

What concerns me most is that the company took payment before being able to confirm and issue the tickets and then suggested that my money could be held for several days while they attempted to source alternative flights.

In my experience, this felt like a bait-and-switch sales tactic: advertise an attractive fare, take payment, then come back requesting substantially more money because the original fare is no longer available.

I have requested either the flights that were advertised and sold to me or a full refund.

Based on my experience so far, I would not book with this company again and would recommend that travellers carefully verify that tickets have actually been issued and that airline booking references and e-ticket numbers have been provided before assuming a booking is secure.
Further to this they made it very difficult to refund the money I had paid and once I get the money I will send you the time frame.
I suggest some of the people that gave 5 stars should also have noted that they were sold tickets that did not exist and then these cowboys go out and then try and find those tickets.
They are playing a game with people's money and holiday time.
I ended up getting a refund but I have to say I felt their sales team were very uneducated and aggressive.
I don't think a company like this will be around long

We are sorry that you feel this way and would like to clarify the circumstances surrounding your booking.

The fare selected at the time of booking was a highly discounted promotional fare that remained subject to availability until ticket issuance. Unfortunately, when ticketing was attempted, the inventory associated with that fare was no longer available. In such situations, the only options available are the next available fare or alternative flight options offered by the airline or supplier. These options were presented purely for your consideration and were never mandatory.

We also wish to clarify that no funds were retained by our agency. Following your request to cancel, the booking was cancelled and the pre-authorized transaction was voided on the same day. This was not a refund process, as the payment had never been accepted, captured or settled. A voided pre-authorization simply releases the pending funds back through your bank's normal processing cycle.

We respectfully reject any suggestion of misleading practices. Throughout the process, we communicated the status of the booking, the available options, and the payment reversal.

We regret that we were unable to secure the original promotional fare and wish you the very best with your future travel plans.

Do not buy anything from these people

Do not buy anything from these people, I bought a ticket but never got it, I’ve contacted them several times but each time I get different reasons as to why I still haven’t received my ticket……I still haven’t got my money back or my ticket!!!
