It is just stalling as usual from insurance companies.

While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Full reimbursement inside two weeks, just two phone calls and one email sorted everything. Fantastic service!
I've had multiple policies with CarHireExcess over the years. This was the first time I've had to claim. I tried making a claim sending all the details to the claim email address - no response (actually not strictly true - we did receive an automated email acknowledging receipt). A follow-up email received no response either.
Luckily the excess this time was only 250 Euros so we have written it off.
Wont be using them again though.
You only find out how good insurance companies are when you have to make a claim. Car Hire Excess lived up to their promise and paid out on my claim for damage to a tyre on a vehicle I had rented from Alamo at Heathrow. Whilst the claim took 3 months to complete, at least everything was done via email, which speeded up the process. Car Hire Excess kept me updated throughout the process and explained the reason for time delays. I would highly recommend them for your excess car hire insurance.
I just renewed with CHEW for the 5th year in succession. I was unfortunate enough to have to have been charged for damages by a car hire company and I claimed through my policy, and got compensated for 100% of the bill. I don't know why people still pay for full damage waivers at car-hire companies when they can save a ton of money with CHEW.
Easy to use and so much cheaper than from the car hire companies, especially at the airport
