Looking at 68 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the printers unreliable, frequently encountering issues like paper jams, blank pages, or devices stopping working soon after purchase. Customers also faced significant frustration with connectivity problems, including difficulties with WiFi and software compatibility, especially with non-Canon cartridges. The high cost and forced use of genuine ink, which often don't last long, were also major points of dissatisfaction. However, some people were satisfied with certain products, highlighting good print quality and speed. A few reviewers also found customer service helpful, leading to successful repairs and positive interactions.

Canon TS5151 printer

Purchased a Canon TS5151 printer after old Canon MX370 gave up the struggle after years of good service. Very happy with purchase with following comments: Excellent colour screen. Cassette or alternative rear paper feed. Cable USB or wireless connection to devices. Set-up via download was quick and easy for a ‘non-techy’. Same ink cartridges as old printer so spares can be used. I studied many reviews and thought this the best option. Purchased from Currys who offered 20% discount which brought price back to that of a cheaper option. I only use a printer occasionally but use scan and copier more than printing. I would recommend this as a home printer.

Very disappointed, hardware is treated as disposable

Very disappointed that they will no longer provide a printer driver for my printer. It’s nine years old and still perfectly functional, but Canon will no longer provide a driver for me to install on my Mac rendering the printer (and loads of purchased ink cartridges) useless and consigned to landfill. Even a simple legacy driver would do with basic functions. What a disgrace, they have lost my custom going forward

We bought a cannon printer in February…

We bought a cannon printer in February and have nothing but trouble getting it to stay on line and print. We took it back to the shop as we were near to throwing out of the window. The lady there told us to ring the help line.
We did this and the guy on the phone named Ian was absolutely great. He spent a lot of time helping us and was very thorough. The printer is now working great. So a big Thank you to Ian at Cannon!

Superb old fashioned service experience

Superb experience - helped me with a csanning issue. The Canon colleague took the time to help me address exactly what the problem was (caused by BT broadband discs not configured to work correctly) and then to solve it. EXCELLENT old fashioned service - well done Canon...

Their 'discounts' are worthless

Contacted Canon customer service for advice about my printer, which had stopped printing properly. Got a phone call to say there was nothing to be done, but hey, have a 20% discount code off a replacement. Turns out the discount is applied off the full retail price (RRP) regardless of what other offers are ongoing. So using the discount was more expensive than buying at the latest sale price, at Canon, Argos or anywhere else. I don't know why they bother giving 'discounts' when they know that you are actually paying a higher price if you're taken in and use it.

Cancelled Order for 'Discrepancies'

Both me and my husband tried to order a camera and lenses bundle from here. He did his as a guest and via PayPal. I did mine through a verified canon account and with a credit card. The reason I tried to order was because his order got cancelled due to 'discrepancies'. When I tried I got the same cancellation and reason. I called amd tried to figure out what happened but all they could say was 'discrepancies' neither person I spoke to could give me any more information. I was not happy amd asked to raise a complaint. They said there was nothing further they could do amd so it won't be looked into. I am beyond furious right now as I work in a bank and knew that everything on my account matched all they suggested is I try a third time, that will nor be happening and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Absolutely disgraceful.

DO NOT USE BY ANY MEANS

DO NOT USE BY ANY MEANS - Extremely unethical and sketchy company.

Firstly, the EOS R10 gives me very painful shocks when it is plugged in. It is strong enough that you can see a blue spark.

I have only had the camera since December and have never had the oppertunity to use it. It has never been taken outside.

Despite this, Canon's response was that they could attempt to repair it or "replace it for a similar model".

Basically, you pay full price for a dangerous product and then get sent a second-hand replacement that might not even be the same model.

Secondly, they are extremely sketchy with their cashback.

They messed up my claim and it took threatening them with the ombudsman to resolve the relatively simple account issue. I had to email them round 5 times in 3 months to even get a decent response.

They are now rejecting my invoice as proof. The invoice was sent FROM THEM, as I bought it from THEIR WEBSITE.

They clearly offer cashback to make people buy their terrible quality products then attempt to dodge paying the cashback by putting deadlines for the claims but never replying when they mess the claims up.

Very, very dodgy company - I advise everyone to stay well clear from them. They will send you faulty products, ignore your emails to support and will try their hardest to not honour their deals.

Canon G6050 Printer.

Canon G6050 Printer.

This is a device that it is almost impossible to use over wifi or on a wired network. It come and gos from the network, mostly gos. it sometimes works with iOS, mostly not. Sometimes works with Mac OS, mostly not. My wife's PC just cannot print to the hopeless device. I personally will never, ever, ever buy canon again. Support just tell you to do what the manual says. I say develop proper software for your device. On the odd occasion it works its OK, nothing spectacular. Very very disappointed. I thought canon were meant to be good.

I ordered 5k worth of camera equipment

I ordered 5k worth of camera equipment. Canon took the money then sent an email saying the order was cancelled. I called them they said it was my bank.
I reordered the equipment from another account, the same thing happened. I then researched reviews and discovered this is a fault their end. I am now waiting on 10k to come back in my accounts which could take up to a month. You'd think ordering from the source would be safer and more efficient. Useless.

DO NOT BUY A CANON PRO-300

DO NOT BUY A CANON PRO-300. Had I known at the time of buying it that every time the ink absorber pads become full I would have to go to the expense of sending it all the way to London with insurance because there is no certified canon tech anywhere else in the UK I definitely would not have spent all the money on it. Obviously a charge would be then added on that from Canon too. They do not supply replacement parts and will not help remotely to override the error code to get you started again. So you therefore cannot use the printer again. It is possible to open the casing, clean, thoroughly dry and replace the pads yourself but even once you have done all that correctly they will absolutely refuse to help you to override the error code. An absolute racket! Should not be allowed

Awful Customer Service

Customer Service - Where are you?

Bought a Canon Pixma Printer based on technical reviews, etc and wanting to go with a subscription for ink model (was recommended to go HP route, but tech reviews of the Canon printer seemed better). The Pixma subscription model seemed to suit, so all seemed to line up, good printer and acceptable subscription.
ahh, when is a Pixma not a Pixma, when Canon choose for it not to be. tried setting up the Pixma subscription and the website wouldn't offer it. Contacted Customer Service and got a ticket response (02387981) from a no reply email with the "one of our customer service advisors will be in touch in the next 3 to 5 working days... How surprising, no contact and no sign of progress in the Canon ticket system. I guess big corporations like this don't actually care much about consumers/customers and it is a case of finding the least awful in terms of customer service.

Cash Back and queries

Deserves zero really, worst company I have dealt with in a long time. Cash back process is over complicated. Submit a query and get no reply. Email them and get a reply saying you aren’t eligible for the cash back and the same day it’s approved. Absolute shower, no customer service at all. As much as I’ve been loyal for years I’ll think twice before I buy from them again. Head Office needs to sort the UK office out! Months to finally get my cash back and that’s only because I finally worked out the rubbish system, no thanks to Canon UK!

Fast shipping, full ink supplied, brilliant, honest printer.

Brilliant purchase experience, full ink tanks provided, not the stupid starter tanks you get with lesser brands, printer feels relatively cheap, but heres the rub, IT IS! Shipped (for free) using UPS, was here within 2 days of ordering, printer setup and sat in the corner now doing the job of a printer which was worse quality and cost 3 times as much.

Canon G2020 printers - snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

Over the decades, Canon printers have always been my "go to" - until now.

My Current G2020 is reliable and produces excellent text and graphics. And the ink system is potentially a winner. So why have I given it one star?

The software is the problem. The chip seems to have been programmed by an immature and petulant individual with a dark and twisted psyche.

You can't leave the printer on - because it switches itself off. So you end up having to switch it on when you want to print something. It claims 9 pages per minute, but you may have to wait 9 minutes for it to print a single page.

When switched on, it will embark on a lengthy (and surprisingly noisy) cleaning routine - at least, I assume that's what it's doing. If you try to turn it off, it asks you to wait "momentarily" as the minutes pass. Hold your finger down on the on/off button, and it spits out blank sheets of paper in retaliation.

I gave up twice today. The first page I wanted to print, I eventually took a picture of the screen with my phone. Later, I ended up writing the information I wanted on one of the blank sheets of paper it had spewed out earlier. In both cases I had to unplug the machine to stop the chugging and churring for long minutes. But there's a price to pay there, too. If and when you turn this benighted machine back on, you know you're going to be trolled by the software, admonishing you for your actions and suggesting you need to read the manual.

What is the point of having a printer that won't let you print anything - until it is good and ready?

I've never come across such incompetent and irritating software before. Only Eddie the Computer in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy comes close. The printer is rendered next to useless, and the user is loath to turn it on, so as to avoid mindless aggravation.

My wife handed this awful printer to me because it was wasting her time and driving her up the wall. Now she has my old printer, and the G2020 is wasting my time instead, and probably doing untold harm to my blood pressure.

In H2g2, they threatened to reprogram Eddie with an axe. I sympathise.

Do NOT buy a Canon G4511

I had a Canon Pixma MX370 which was excellent. Used for 10 - 15 years never had any problem with it.
I reluctantly replaced it with a Canon G4511.

I should have known when I took it out of the box, its a pile of plastic rubbish! Nothing like the quality of the MX370!

I have had numerous issues, which my technical support team tell me is about the poor quality Canon software.

I have to pay for the technical support I now rely on to keep this rubbish going.

Increased the price of printing ink and…

Increased the price of printing ink and reduced the quantity, from 23ml to 11ml. I used to buy the 23ml capacity in the Canon PG-540XL cartridge. They've stopped selling this and I am now told that I must buy the Canon PG-540L cartridge which has only half the capacity. BAH!

I had to get a new all in one printer…

I had to get a new all in one printer today. I just need a basic product as its just for home use. I purchased a canon all in one printer/scanner. I am pretty competent at setting up a printer/scanner on to my home wi-fi. So I started to set up my brand new printer and followed the set up guide supplied. I was given an internet link to go to to continue set up. I went to site to find nothing I needed but a live chat box. I entered into a live chat. They requested to give me a call as this was needed to complete. Ok so I agreed (More Fool Me) Guy comes on phone and says you will be sent a link now to the live chat box. I click the link it starts a download for the drivers and the download fails? Guy says its not their printer its my PC damn in hindsight I feel so foolish I allowed this guy to enter my pc and he started going into places in my I have no idea how to open and stated I needed Norton Anti Virus for the set up to be able to complete? I feel gutted I let this guy sucker me in!! He went on a massive HARD SELL!! STATING I could never set up my brand new printer without Norton??? At this point the penny dropped I realised that canon where trying to take me for a ride. I worry now I allowed this guy to enter my pc only time will tell if I have allowed myself to be damaged by this? I told him to sling he's hook!! How could setting up a new printer be so complicated. I put the printer back in its box and took it straight back to where I bought it. I got an Epson Printer brought it home got it out the box and set it up in under half an hour NO PROBLEM So my opinion is STAY A MILLION MILES AWAY FROM CANON !!!!
