CanaDream RV - Vancouver Reviews 

Great all-round service and top-quality vehicle.

We drove a 32' 2027, E450 Forest River Sunseeker from Brampton, one-way, to Delta BC.

The first few hours were white-knuckling! Driving that beast took some getting used to as I learned its dimensions, how to check the mirrors, switch lanes, drive in traffic, turn corners.

(A) TURNING CORNERS:
1). Not to clip someone with your front end. It has a terrible turn radius and there were times I had to turn a normal turn into a 3-point turn! A couple times turning right, someone had the good courtesy to back up to make way for my radius.
2). Your back end swings - you could clip someone with your tail.
3). Your wheels will try to eat the curb if you don't go wide
4). You are 13' tall! Sometime corners are ready to behead you.
This is a lot to watch for if you don't have any training or practice

(B) the TOW/HAUL
- We became acquainted quickly even though I have zero trucking experience and drive a manual Civic because I've changed a few engines in my time! Understanding how the tow/haul works is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to save your brakes coming down some tall mountains (ie highway 99!). If you don't know how to use it properly, you will definitely smoke your brakes or downshift too quickly ruining the transmission! I don't know how people drive these machines down miles of 12% grade without mastering the tow/haul feature.

We rented on Tuesday so I'm glad we came in on the Friday to kick the tires. Friendly staff were there to show us around even though we didn't have an appointment. Great first impression! Hector was there to sign us out on our rental Tuesday - he was excellent to us too. Friendly, unrushed. Even though we had a 2pm rental appointment, we showed up at 10:30am and are grateful that he was so accommodating to get us on the road quickly.

I wish the Journie rewards card was more emphasized (maybe coupled with the gasbuddy app). We got so much information thrown at us on our way out - that we never activated the card until we already spent over 2k in gas. Too late for the savings.

I felt a little ripped off paying for the Platinum package that was supposed to be a quick drop off requiring no cleaning etc. What we discovered in Delta was:
1). there was still a long line to drop off the RV. I asked if there was a key-drop because we paid for the platinum package - but we still had to wait for about 2 hours before getting out of there (despite being there early to our 8am dropoff appointment). Turns out, we basically paid an extra $250 for the Platinum package so Canadream could dump our grey/black water for us, when we could have just done so on the campground. This extra had only perceived value but on the finish line, made no difference at all. There was another RV renter who was in the same RV spot the night before who simply dropped off his keys (somewhere?) because he said he paid for the Platinum package. Having left the keys, and locked the RV, he and his girlfriend just left.

SUGGESTION:
Put the rearview mirror back in so the driver can check and ensure everyone is buckled, sitting etc! I felt blind to my own passengers because this simple/cheap tool was overlooked.

I also wish the RV came with a simple inverter in order to power one (or all) receptacle(s). We were tempted to rent the coffee machine but I'm glad we didn't because we rarely had power, even in the campsites we stayed at.

We also realized later that some roads are not recommended/safe for a large RV to drive on and so this changed some plans while in motion.

Very professional company with pleasant staff and good quality products. Would definately use them again.

I had a great experience. I dealt with Amir, Latifa, and Sanja. The team was great, and we had a blast in our rv rental. I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends, and we’ll be back next year.

The RV experience was terrific. Well-equipped, comfortable, good value. Driving felt positive and the freedom to explore the beautiful countryside was a real bonus.

We have (for the second time) only good things to say about the staff in Vancouver. Customer service representatives who speak your language (in this case, German) make picking up and dropping off the vehicle incredibly easy. All in all, a 5-star experience.
The only downside is the online check-in. It takes forever, and nobody in the middle of preparing for a transatlantic trip really has time to spend an hour or more in front of a computer. This urgently needs to be revised and significantly shortened.

The whole thing was quite expensive. It is with every rental company, and I do not like the way how all costs are parceles away so one does not have good possibilities to compare.
I did not like to have to pay for an early slot to take the RV or vice versa.

I was impressed by the efficient work of the staff.

The technical Equipment of the RV was good and quite modern, it was easy to drive.

Everything was in good working order.

The suspension, however, was catastrophic.
Hitting the smalles unforeseen pothole could send the whole structure of the carriage swaying violently.
The same went for taking turns, or ascending slightly uneven ascends, even in low speed results could be unpredictable.
The overhead cabinets were not locked, so we lost a good deal of china to the combination of swaying car and opening cabinets.
Since it seems unlikely to change the bouild of the car, I would suggest locks or clamps for the overhead cabinets.
That was unexpeced, maybe You should warn people that turning on a slope or hitting potholes with the rear wheels could result in unexpected behavior of the RV.

The fire alarm went of nearly ever time we cooked, so we had to remove it until the cooking was finished.
This is very dangerous, because it effectively means that You have no alarm because it i either removed or You do not heed it. However, id did not go of when I accidentally burned one of the kitchen clothes.

Whenever we put the controls to heating water, it smelled slightly of burned rubber, whatever that means.

We did not use the Generator, the air conditioner was not that great or we did something wrong, no idea.

The model of the RV was not as described in the video. Especially the table solution was not as we expected, so we did not have a table to use at the front seat, and the usable space in the back was smaller than we expected, in the end we did not use it at all.
Good thing that many campgrounds have tables, bad thing if it rains.

The passenger site seat belt snapped tight every time the passenger moved and my husband felt quite constricted.

The furnace was quite good, to sad that I did not figure out how it worked until the last week of our trip.
The concept does not come naturally to Europeans, I finally found and downloaded the manual myself.

The pots have improved but the knives are still not fit for cutting things.

The hose for dumping was a little short fore some occasions, took some maneuvering.

One tends to lay to much stress on the things that were annoying and tends to take the good things for granted, but I intend this as constructive criticism.

Good day all … yes everything was great . We had a terrific time . We bought a unit Canadream last year . Love it.. right now it is in the shop because a tree fell on it. So we came and rented a unit from you . We are renting the same 22 B class unit the week to continue our holiday . Only issue was not your problem but mine. The control panel for heat and hotwater is of course a new
Computer panel .very different and stupidly very difficult to work . Sometimes old school is better . Pls have a better briefing on how the panel operates . I had a better understanding when we returned .. I will ask more about this when I pick the same rental this week . The video needs a more detailed description on the control panel on this Rv for a novice to run .Still had a great trip . So thank you. We picked up our unit in Richmond. Great dealership .. great People.

Good reception and clear instructies for our first RV experience. RV was clean and proper upon receipt. Good service underway and smooth drop off procedure. Kind and hospitable crew. We would absolutely recommend Canadream.

Everything went very well at pickup—professional and straightforward. Upon return, a generator cover was missing, even though we hadn't been involved in an accident. Canadream wants to charge us $189.00 for this; we didn't think that was right.

-Well organized booking/rental/return process
-Friendly, and professional staff
-Fully equipped and functioning RV (MHC - not a single issue/ problem during 6 weeks rental)

As a first time RV user, things went very smoothly apart from getting a bit used to parking such a giant vehicle. RV was clean and well equipped. Everything worked as hoped. Would not hesitate to rent from Canadream again.

From start to finish a fantastic experience, it was our first time in an RV, I wasn’t sure what to book and the team really helped me over email. Then on both collection and drops off the team were so helpful and friendly, the van was fantastic, easy to drive and had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable. Would recommend and we would be using CanaDream again for this type of holiday. Thank you

We rented a truck camper for 4 weeks and it was great fro 2 persons. The overhead bed was very comfortable and also long enough for a person of 1.95m (or 6.4 ft). On the downside were the kitchen knives that did not cut at all and the fact that the inside of the camper was rather dark due to the rather small windows. But apart from that we really enjoyed the vehicle, all worked well (AC, heating, microwave). Pick-up and return were smooth and we really liked the "peace of mind" package which took care of final cleaning and dumping (not the case for previous rentals in the US from a different rental agency).

Great pickup. Easy, plus descriptive run through of the vehicle was helpful. Drop off was even easier!
The RV was ideal for the route and days we planned for. Very thirsty on gas though, which added to the expenses.
The only thing, in my mind that dropped it from a 5 star to 4 star, was that the interior fitting were getting quite worn. To be fair, it was getting up on the k's, so could well have been due to be retired.
Overall, it helped us have a great holiday and enjoy the sights of British Columbia and Alberta!
