Process to register with a new BUPA dentist was great- I could find my nearest dentist and book an appointment via the app. I had my appointment and afterwards gave the receptionist my Bupa reference number (from the app) and the claim was processed immediately- without any pre-payment from me. Such an easy process- I'm annoyed at myself for not doing it sooner.

If you are buying this expensive product thinking you will bypass NHS waiting times, think again. The communication delays are shocking and, quite frankly, dangerous when you are waiting for healthcare.
My wife submitted a claim on 24th May under a moratorium policy we fully understood. The timeline of their service is unbelievable:
Week 1: Bupa took a full week just to ask an initial question (responded to immediately).
Week 2: Another week passed before they asked for a form (completed and returned immediately).
Week 3: Complete silence. I called them yesterday to chase, only to find out they supposedly sent a text six days after getting the form to say it was wrong.
The intentional or incompetent gaps between every single communication mean weeks fly by with zero progress. We had to bypass them entirely, see the consultant, and pay out of pocket just to get my wife treated. Now we face a battle to get the bill paid. They have proven themselves to be a company that happily takes your premiums but creates a stressful, administrative nightmare when you actually need to make a claim. Absolutely terrible service.

Claims are processed and paid promptly, however the actual claims input could be easier. It would be easier if you could just submit the invoice from the dentist and all the relevant information can be extracted from that.
