Bridgene provided me with a safe space…
Bridgene provided me with a safe space to explore my relationship with alcohol and supported me with my decision to take a break from alcohol.
I didn’t expect to be able to do 30days as although I don’t have an addiction to alcohol I’ve never completed a ‘dry January’ in the past without giving into a urge or a friend’s offer of glass of wine
I’ve also been going through the most stressful period of my life and my weekend bottle of wine to decompress has been a crutch I didn’t think I would want to let go of…. But I was pleasantly surprised how easy it’s felt
Really exploring my whys and remembering them was such a good tool Bridgene taught me
Bridgene was so supportive, her regular check ins and allowing me to share my wins and experiences of navigating urges through the 30days was so helpful to have
I only planned to do the 30days but I’ve carried on and currently at day 45
Bridgene’s personal experience of drinking alcohol allowed her to really relate and empathise with me - I didn’t feel judged or pressured to go alcohol free- I don’t know if I’ll choose to be alcohol free for life but I’m 100% sure it won’t be a weekly thing I do anymore- and it won’t be for a quick fix for a stressful day (because I realise now it actually doesn’t help- in fact it makes it worse!)
Bridgene’s very knowledgeable and informative- and she has helped me to help myself improve my confidence to be with and deal with uncomfortable emotions
Truly grateful to have crossed paths and worked with Bridgene - She really did help me smash this challenge!
