Cruel on garnishment

It is one of the worst banks in Romania.
The online banking application is among the poorest on the market: weak and counter‑intuitive.
When it comes to garnishments, they hit you hard. While all other banks in Romania leave automatically renewed term deposits untouched when a garnishment is applied, BRD breaches the contract and does not renew them automatically — they manually close them instead.
Unlike reputable banks, BRD does not notify you when a garnishment is placed on your account, nor when the garnishment is lifted.
Their garnishment fees are enormous: 20 lei (garnishment processing fee) + 30 lei (garnishment payment fee).
There is no serious reason to choose BRD over other banks. Only CEC Bank performs worse.

Rude employee that was even arguing…

Rude employee that was even arguing with me ended up just wasting my time and delaying a project. I am now considering closing my BRD account. For you own sake, please avoid this bank at all cost!

Slow app & unhelpful customer support

Had my first bank account with them. Awful.
Their ATMs are always broken, the card had to be remade because the picture on it (was an ISIC) wasn't clear (who's fault is that?) And they still email me to activate the card or it will be blocked???
This was just when I made it! A year ago I tried to use Western Union and had my account blocked, had to call them and wait a whole day to get my card unlocked.
Now here's the fun part, i try to make a payment and it doesnt go thru because their app sucks and won't let me authorise the transaction, awesome, I do it again and it goes thru. The next day I wake up to 0 funds, I call them and they a man tells me I made a transaction and the money went thru (it was paypal, i had cancelled it long before). The guy didn't provide me any info and I didn't know an overdraft could happen, he didn't even bother explaining to me (my money should have been released the first time it had not gone thru). I call again at another department and a lady quickly solves my problem. Many of theur employees have no interest in helping you!

data theft

The worst business ever in Romania. They weren't able to open my accounts in two weeks, as they kept saying that they have errors. So I went back to close my account, and now I realize they are just trying to steal personal data and probably sell it to other companies. I asked for my data to be removed, but they refused and kept sending me emails. This is proof that they are stealing personal information. DO NOT GO NEAR THEM

Poor online services

It’s unbelievable that as a customer you CANNOT apply online for a debit card, although on BRD.ro website they say it’s “100% online”?!? I have to call the Client services support to request for a card. Really?!? Why the YouBRD doesn’t have this option?
I am more and more dissatisfied with the poor services BRD is offering whilst having the highest admin commissions for a standard account! Can’t they invest those money in developing online solutions worthy of 21st century instead paying agents to stay on the phone to issue debit or credit cards?

I’m really considering closing my account with them!
As an advice for new customers looking to open an account in Romania: avoid BRD!

BRD blocked all my accounts since 09th…

BRD blocked all my accounts since 09th of may without any legal reason or explanation. I made at least 5 written complains and more then 30 phone calls during this period requesting the release of my money, proving them i am a reliable person, the money are mine and i did nothing wrong with papers and documents. Nothing could make BRD even answer my complains, all this time they treat me not like a customer, but like a unimportant person with no right.
Further i will attache the last message sent to BRD, in which i had to almost beg for my rights
"Hello! Considering the absence of a response from you to the countless requests to unblock my accounts and the amounts they contain, I feel compelled to write to you again. My accounts have been blocked since 05/09/2023 without any plausible explanation, even more so without any legal basis. Therefore, tomorrow, 05/23/2023, it will be two weeks since you blocked my money for no reason. I am deeply disappointed by the way you handled my case, despite the openness I showed towards your requests.
I consider that an unreasonably long period has passed since you blocked the amount of 7946 lei, the vital sum of money for my family's daily life, indirectly sabotaging the life of my family members, which is undoubtedly against the constitution and my rights to Romanian citizen.
Considering your lack of reaction, as well as the certainty that there is no legal reason to justify your actions or any fault of mine, if you do not fix the problem in the shortest time, I feel compelled to complain about your abuse, on all media. Understanding the sovereignty you think you have at your disposal as a bank, I consider that advertising as unfavorable as possible helps you understand the anxiety and stress you have caused me in the last two weeks.
Please respectfully send me an answer as soon as possible related to this problem!"

The worst bank in Romania

The worst bank in Romania, they don't reply to emails they decisions without your concern, Block your account without any legal justification, I had a transaction with someone you bought something from me, he made the payment to my brd account and latter called the bank seeking a refund, brd call me and I provided all the neccesary proof to justify the fact that the payment was made legally and yet, my account was blocked and closed!!

FAULTY MBAs and ATMs! More maintenance required!

My Revolut card got stuck in their MBA ATM. Did not take resposability for their faulty card ejecting mechanism. Now I need to wait for another Revolut card to get shipped. Thanks a lot, BRD!

Also, thier faulty MBA wouldn't take my euro bills (error in banknote transport system) on multiple occasions. Couldn't exchange them for local cash, couldn't deposit on my BRD card.

On the plus side, they may have the best banking app in Romania, so I'm stuck with them.
