Avoid!!!!I am beyond disgusted and incredibly annoyed with the service provided by BPI Auctions. What should have been a standard transaction has been a total nightmare. Despite clear evidence of vendor misconduct and suspicious financial requests, BPI is refusing to help and has flatly rejected my request for a refund. This platform appears to be a dumping ground for failed eBay sellers and crooks who use BPI as a safe haven to exploit people without the protection of standard marketplace rules.
1. Total Lack of Transparency & Identity Concealment At the time of bidding, BPI provides zero seller details. Even after winning and paying, the invoice only lists an address—no name or business identity. This is a shocking failure in transparency. I only discovered who I was actually dealing with by chance, after seeing the name in an email sender field after the sale was complete. You are forced into a "blind" contract, which is a massive red flag.
2. Facilitating Potential Fraud & Security Risks After I settled the lot via BPI’s secure link, the vendor demanded an additional £10 delivery fee via private bank transfer. To be clear: I understand a fee is required if a seller arranges delivery, but I refuse to pay via an unverified bank transfer to an account that doesn't match the vendor's name and belongs to a random business. If BPI can provide a secure payment link to settle the lot, they should be providing a secure payment link for delivery. By forcing buyers to send money "under the table" rather than through a verified portal, BPI is leaving users wide open to fraud.
3. Blatant Dishonesty & Stalling Tactics The vendor’s dishonesty is staggering. He initially ignored all my emails, then claimed to BPI that he "never received them"—only to miraculously "find" them once I sent follow-ups. He is now obstructing the contract by demanding an impossible, exact "pinpoint" time for collection which no courier provides. He also lied, claiming the nearest Post Office was 10 miles away; I verified it is 1.8 miles from his door and open until 7:45 pm on Fridays.
4. BPI’s Failure & Refusal to Refund I have formally requested a refund, and BPI has refused, hiding behind "agent status" to dodge accountability. They have collected my money but are doing nothing to ensure the goods are delivered or to stop their vendor from making suspicious financial demands. Furthermore, BPI breached Data Protection principles by forwarding my private correspondence to the vendor, escalating the situation rather than resolving it.
5. Negligence and Poor Vetting A reputable auction house inspects items to ensure they are in working condition. BPI does neither. They facilitate bidding on uninspected lots they have never seen, providing a platform for "cowboys" who would likely be banned from eBay.
Summary: BPI Auctions is a disorganised, unaccountable platform that protects crooked and obstructive vendors over legitimate buyers. They have my money, the vendor is demanding "off-platform" payments to unverified accounts, and BPI is refusing to help. Stay far away from this platform.
Resolution: BPI must either issue an immediate refund or provide a secure, verified payment link for the delivery fee. The seller is currently refusing the valid collection and delivery labels I have already provided; BPI needs to step in and fix this.
Carol was lightening quick with her reply.Could not have been more helpful.

Carl and Craig did an excellent job today at sourcing our Auction purchases at Nottingham in a fast and efficient manner. We have bought off BPI over many Years and have never been disappointed with their level of service.

This was the first time using BPI auction site and it could not have gone any smoother. The items were well listed and the regular updates to my email address meant I was kept up to date of lots ending and also if i was outbid. This is similar to many auction sites but it was the customer service, especially with Carol Allen, that made the difference. The help and support in getting transparency over invoicing and collection details was what made this a smooth process.

I would love to bid for an item that I really want. Trying to register to bid for an item listed but can't actually do this. Signed in but it won't let me register or bid. Asked for help and had password re-set but still can't register and bid for the item. Very frustrating!

I purchased a petrol trimmer which was listed as working on their website. I live about 500 miles away from the place where the items were kept therefore unable to go and see them or pick up. I won the auction and arranged delivery. When i received the item, was clearly faulty and not working having the driveshaft broken... I contacted their team and was simply told, sorry, nothing we can do, items are sold as seen. You should have come and inspect the items before buying, the description we post is for the purpose of identification and lists the main characteristics of the item, which does not mean it works. Paid £255 for it, same price you can get something from ebay and working. Now need to spend more money to try and fix it, if possible.
This is a clear example about the danger of buying items without inspecting first ... If you can visit and check first, may get good deals, otherwise just run away, before receiving expensive plastic that ends up in the recycling bins ...

purchased an item expecting it to be usable, but my experience suggests buyers need to approach this auction house with extreme caution. In other lots within the same sale, missing components were clearly disclosed — yet in my case, an essential part was absent and not stated in the listing. When I raised this, I received only stock replies quoting generic terms rather than any attempt to address the specific issue.
Their defence relies heavily on broad “sold as seen” wording and small-print conditions, which in practice appear to override the actual lot description. While they emphasise the option to inspect items in person, that is unrealistic for many online bidders and does not excuse incomplete or unclear listings.
If you bid here, assume nothing is included unless explicitly stated and be prepared for the possibility that what arrives may not match reasonable expectations. Based on my experience, transparency and customer resolution are not priorities once payment has been made.

What I didn't like was when I put my bid in with 8 seconds to spare then the clock jumped back to 2 minutes 30 seconds a few times allowing the bidding to continue
