Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We’re really sorry to hear how disappointing this situation has felt, especially when you were hoping the platform would help support your business.

BorrowMyDoggy is designed as a community where dog owners and local dog lovers help each other out with walks, sitting, and companionship on a voluntary basis, rather than a marketplace for paid dog walking services. Because of this, accounts set up for business purposes aren’t something we’re able to support on the platform.

We completely understand how frustrating it must have been to realise this after signing up, particularly when you were acting on advice and were hoping it would be a positive investment for you. Our membership and background check fees, along with how accounts are used on the platform, are outlined during the sign-up process, but we appreciate that this may not have been clear in your situation.

If you’d like us to take another look at your case, please feel free to contact our support team with the email address linked to your account and we’ll happily review it for you.

Many owners, especially those with puppies, do look for the same borrower each time so their dog can build a consistent bond, which can sometimes make availability requirements a bit stricter.

That said, lots of members on BorrowMyDoggy are looking for ongoing walks, playtime, and companionship for their dogs rather than just holiday help. Finding the right match can sometimes take a little time, as every owner’s needs are different, but many members do go on to build lovely long-term friendships with local dogs.

Because BorrowMyDoggy connects individual dog owners and Borrowers directly, availability, expectations, and levels of commitment can vary from person to person. Many members do find that it takes meeting a few Borrowers before discovering someone whose schedule and preferences align well with theirs.

BorrowMyDoggy is a membership community built around connecting local dog owners and dog lovers who simply want to share time together, often leading to genuine friendships and long-term bonds. Many of our members tell us their dogs gain a second family, and borrowers get all the joy of dog companionship in a flexible way that fits around real life.

The membership fee on both sides helps us keep the community safe and secure, and ensures everyone joining is committed to building respectful, reliable arrangements.

We completely agree that caring for a dog is a real responsibility, which is why we encourage clear conversations from the start so expectations work for everyone involved.
