Terrible service for Day 2 lateral flows

I have used the service for Day 2 PCR tests previously and it was good - delivery on time, reasonable price and results came within a reasonable time.
This time for lateral flows has been awful. Ordered 4 Day 2 lateral flow tests, 2 scheduled to arrive on Day 3, 2 scheduled to arrive on Day 4 even though ordered at the same time. Impossible to find contact details so I just have to wait it out - I have done tests using NHS lateral flows to check we don't have Covid but those don't count for official purposes. I have made a complaint on the gov.uk website which was very easy to find.
I'll be looking for a new provider now which is a shame as Boots were quite good until now.

Day 2 test not arrived. Royal Mail is saying delivered. Impossible to contact anyone - no email address or phone number. Don't use boots for this service - unreliable,

Appalling waste of time from begining…

Appalling waste of time from begining to end due to inadequate explanation. Don't buy it if you value your time.
Eventually I figured it out. A couple of tips if you're unlucky enough to have bought a kit:
1. The order number in the confirmatory email on purchase is useless and isn't the all important number you must enter onto your passenger locator form. This is found buried in your login details which you'll find once you've registered and purchased the kit.
2. When you get the kit, to register you must enter the bar code on the kit cassette. But there is no bar code. Instead scan the QR code and copy the long code instead.

Very poor service waste of money

Very poor,
the ordering and Boots taking your money was easy, the kits arrived as expected, there is no way top register your negative test result, the instructions do not match anything on the website, you cant ring or email anybody so we have paid £42.00 for nothing abysmal service,

Good experience, PCR Day 2 tests

Ordered the PCR Day 2 tests with Boots, the test packs arrived the day after we got back from holiday (as expected). The tests themselves were easy to set up and administer. We got our results on the portal 1-2 days after posting, 1 day for me and 2 days for my husband.

All in all, a smooth experience. Obviously I can't comment on their customer service because we didn't experience any issues.

A bit on the pricey side but would use again if PCR for travel is required.

Absolutely appalling testing system

Absolutely appalling testing system. Ok, so the 2 day return to UK test kits arrived 3 days after ordering. I tried emailing to see if I could pick up a kit from my local Boots branch but the email response was useless. The test itself was understandable but trying to get the results into ReCoVa-19 almost impossible. For starters there is no bar code on the testing tube. As a previous reviewer found out from Twitter, you have to QR scan the test strip and then email the code to yourself. Next, copy the code number (letters and numbers) into the two boxes on the ReCoVa form (you may have to remember what you are typing as the screen will not scroll down correctly). Once that has been done you should be able to advance to photographing the test results and Photo Capture Area. I await with interest how long it will take to get my test results. It is no wonder people are hesitant about travelling abroad! The Passenger Locator Form is bad enough but is surpassed by the appalling mess that is the Boots ReCoVa-19 Post Travel Testing Service. I will try never to use a Boots service like this again.

day 2 home lateral test portal activation

Ordered a day 2 home lateral test. The whole thing looks pretty straight forward until I tried to activate the test on the portal and upload results. It asks for a scan of the sample tube barcode but there’s no sample tube for a lateral test. So scan the bar code on the box but the Recova portal did not take it, researching the whole evening until I found a very helpful post on Twitter to scan the actual QR code on the Test strip to activate, enter them as Cap in the barcode field and you will be able to activate the test. Hopefully Boots will update instructions

Not so much a review as an appeal …

Not so much a review as an appeal for information. I'm travelling to the UK from Spain on 24/11 and have just booked a 2 day lateral flow test as I gather this is what is now allowed. Received a letter yesterday from Royal Mail saying that my test kit is on it's way - a whole month earlier than when it's needed and from the date entered on the form. I filled the form in on 24/10 so I'm wondering if they just didn't register the difference between Oct and Nov.

Has anyone else experienced this and/or should I assume that my order will take a month to process. I can't find any contact information to ask Boots or the service provider what to expect.

Utter shambles

Utter shambles. Bought the fit for flight and day 2 tests from them. Received 2 identical boxes, no differentiation between them whatsoever, so assumed they were identical tests. Grabbed one for the pre-flight test, logged it following the instructions. The web page didn't given any indications about the test details until it had confirmed the registration - I recorded the pre-flight test on the day 2 tracking. It accepted it even though the date of the test is over a month before the return flight. Called Boots, after they made the excuse that it wasn't their fault it was their supplier (still Boots responsibility), they logged a call and told me they'd send a replacement. It arrived just before I flew out, with no instructions whatsoever. RECOVA site still showing the incorrect test. I left it as I was going to see very ill family, low on my priority list. Now, a few days later, I go to check and the old test is STILL showing on the 2 day registration. Boots have AN ENTIRE MONTH AND DID NOTHING. Can't call RECOVA directly as no contact on their site, been on hold to Boots for over 30 minutes from abroad (Boots will be getting that bill) and still nothing. My flight home is at risk. There WILL be repercussions.

Nightmare

Nightmare !
I Travel / commute internationally very regularly with and without family ( but of course somewhat limited during COVID ) . Normally I am in and out of the country within 2-4 days so haven’t needed to take a 5 day test to release. This time however I did , due to staying for 10 days. My usual 2 day kits are the self-testing kind and I’ve always had very positive experiences with HealthHub , with kits arriving on time, samples being delivered / received and results delivered very promptly. I’d wish I’d used them again for the self testing 5 day kit !
I thought I was being smart by having an in-store PCR test done at a well established major high street establishment such as Boots, just to be extra sure . On the slim chance my self administered kit wasn’t delivered to me on time, or I didn’t send it off quickly enough , or my sample wasn’t taken properly, or my sample never arrived at the lab. I thought this was the wise choice. Ha !
No results received in the promised “ before 24 hours “ for 5 day tests . I rang the boots help line. On hold for 45 minutes. Finally got though and was told they would email the company and chase them up but not to worry , you’ll have the results soon. I kept checking the portal . No results before 48 hours. I called boots again . Same long long wait . Still no result. Repeat. No results within 72 hours .
Was then told my test was apparently “ lost “ ! Ridiculous . They wouldn’t clarify if it was “ lost “ at the store , or in the post or at the lab. But
“ Would a like to make an appointment for another test ? “ It’s now day 8 and I’ve just sent my HealthHub self-testing kit off .. so “ No I don’t ! “ At least I did receive a refund.
And I won’t even go into details about how rough the 18 year old kid at boots was at taking my sample !
My advice : Stick to self-testing with trackable mail, cutting out incompetent middle man, woman , girl or boy . Or , if you’re lucky enough to be close to a lab that handles visits. Go direct to appointment there. At least you don’t have to worry about the mail.
P.s I feel sorry for the customer service advisers on the telephone . They were pleasant enough but you could tell by their blasé attitude that this must happen regularly. They weren’t shocked , surprised at all that my test mysteriously disappeared.

Appalling service

I hesitate to give a single star for the appalling service received. Still awaiting results of our day 2 tests done two weeks ago. A friend who used the Boots service is still awaiting her result- 3 weeks on

Interesting that my partner and I booked our tests at different times online and when we opened our boxes after returning from Ftance it was clear they came from completely different labs- different boxes, packaging and instructions

Will waste my time complaining to Boots but will never use them again

Day two result came within thirty-six…

Day two result came within thirty-six hours, day eight was waiting after forty-eight. Spent nearly two hours on the telephone to be kept being told: cannot help you. Eventually found another contact and spoke with a 'Lewis', he was helpful but couldn't resolve my issue. He was able to confirm I was in the sysytem... It is so clear there is a lack of internal management and constructive direction; and over use of automated answer and please press one, two or three. I followed all the instructions. Boots need to bow thier heads in shame...

Unexplained delay and hopeless website

Unexplained delay and hopeless website

We've used the Boots Recova Covid Day 2 test twice. The first time, we received our results in three days. This second time, it's been five days so far and no results have arrived. How are we supposed to get back to work at our offices without a confirmed all-clear? Trying to track or query our tests on the Recova site is useless because it's very stupidly designed. There's no clear way to raise a query. If there are genuine delays in testing it's obvious that the Boots and Recova sites should say so straight away on the homepages. Boots and Recova shouldn't take peoples' money unless they provide a clear-cut service and well-thought out websites. We'll take a day 2 test at the airport next time.

Very bad, a waste of money and time

My test arrived on time and as expected. However, I am still awaiting the result after having since returned to mainland Europe after spending 2 weeks in the UK.
The test was a total waste of money, and had I had a 'new variant' it would not have been detected as I travelled around the UK, and it remains undetected as I continue my life in my country of residence.
Really, an incredibly poor showing from a company contracted by Britain's primary high street chemist.

Day 2 PCR test Kit NO RESULTS : NO REFUND!!

Day 2 PCR test Kit dispatched in advance but no test results received. NO REFUND. This has been a total rip-off.

An "It technical issue" happened when activating the test kit with barcode received SB...., and the same error message has shown up: " Barcode already registered" (faulty/duplicated barcode reference number?).Boots Customer Care just pretended not to understand what was wrong, despite same situation clearly described on the news online.

See official warning which can be consulted at Money Saving Expert :
"PCR travel test providers given official warning amid concerns over misleading prices and unfair practices".

My advice is to avoid them at all cost.

Day 2 kits not arrived AND then result not returned

Booked two day 2 covid tests. Phoned Boots as soon as we got home because our Test kits had not arrived, so we we not able to take the sample on day 2. Waited ages on the line. They resent a second kit which arrived on Day 3. Took sample exactly following guidance and sent to them by taking to post office, for speed. My husband’s Test result did not come back. Spent several phone calls - long waits each time - to resolve. They fixed it eventually, but it was very stressful and time consuming. DON’T USE THIS SERVICE - UNRELIABLE.

Pre-flight PCR result within 15 hours

I wanted to put a review on here to try and help or reassure anyone who was in the same position as me a week or so ago. I had read lots of mixed reviews for so many of the pre-flight Covid-19 PCR providers. I eventually decided on boots and had my swab at the Manchester Piccadilly store at 11:00 on 25/09/21 (48 hours before travel). My results came through at 01:20am on 26/09/21 - less than 15 hours!! I was absolutely thrilled. The certificate provided was very detailed and accepted by Singapore Airlines. All that stress for nothing, I would highly recommend Boots pre-flight PCR test based on my experience.
