Bookers Wimbledon AVOID

Bookers Wimbledon
This branch has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my 25 years of trading. The staff have no common sense and do not follow Bookers T&C and make up the rules as they go along.
I spend over £1300 a week at Bookers and have decided to change to another supplier for my business as I am unhappy with the service provided.
My concerns have been directed to the CEO of Bookers in addition to this review.

I do not not usually leave reviews…

I do not not usually leave reviews however as a first time visitor to this particular Bookers I feel compelled to mention how helpful and accommodating the staff were. The kind & efficient lady on reception was marvellous & as the layout of this store was not familiar to me I had to ask directions & questions a few times and every member of staff was more than happy to help. So refreshing. To boot the store was clean and tidy and so were the toilets. Over 35 years I have visited countless Bookers & can honestly say the Southampton branch beats them all. Don’t hesitate to use them.

Incompetent management (Liverpool)

For 7 years without fail my family has used Booker for its services, mainly for the frozen meat.

This week when at Bookers I went to the butchers, showed them the meat which I wanted, and he then went to the fridges in the back (strictly staff access only).

I got the box and paid, went to my café and stored the meat.

The following day, I opened the box ever so slightly only to notice that the meat sold to us was wrong.

I then packed the meat in my car, drove back to Booker Liverpool and went straight to the butchers and told the situation and the gentleman was extremely friendly and told me it should not be a issue as the fault is solely with Booker.

When the management was told about this they literally had no answer nor solution and like a parrot repeated that their policy could not allow for them to make such refund/replacement/credit.

Things got heated fairly quickly. The butchers came directly to the management and told them on multiple occasions that the fault is theirs and not ours. However, the management team ignored these on multiple occasions and refused to help.

Due to this, I raised my voice at the management team and I have no regrets.

I raised my concerns to the head office and today I get a call from the Liverpool Booker store stating that they will indeed credit my account with the funds for the box of meat which by the way was £210ish.

However in return i will face a ban from every Booker nationwide.

1. Booker staff makes mistake
2. I try and settle a mistake by asking for the items to be replaced
3. The butchers at fault state that the fault is solely theirs
4. Management refuse to help.
5. I eventually get credit
6. I get banned....

Do you see how awful of a company these guys actually are?...

Do not recommend

Management haven't got a clue, they don't train any day staff on MHE, zero progression and pay is always wrong.

Booker Sunderland

Worst ever customer service. Everyone there is obotic. They're social and over friendly with each other not with the customers. Also noticed that, for them rules are meant to be followed by customers only, not their staff, as they don't wear mask, mingle in a group freely, but when customer ever ask or come near for valid reason, they very rudely remind them about rules. Also they are very much biased between old and new customers. Not much good range either, as in a day time you go there you miss most of stock, and if you go early, then it lies in the pallets and in the middle of the ways, they take ages to put them at the isles. Go there only if you want to get cold responses, rude behaviour, low or no stock, and finally worst customer service

Covid regulations not met - Rude staff

Receptionsist was cold, rude & not useful in any shape or form.

Staff + Security were not wearing masks or keeping the distance from us whilst attempting to appear intimidating.

When asking about membership, I was rudely dismissed.

The building is falling apart and dirty both in and out, very unpleasant experience.

Sunbury Bookers, sort it out. Disgusting.

I would take your business elsewhere, for you own health, safety and just general self respect.

I left after 10 minutes of this shambles and will never return with my business or recommend to any other businesses.

Bookers in Shrewsbury!!! Vile!!!

I went here Monday 21st December 2020, with my nan, and WOW!! I had been once before and the staff were rude, but not to the extend they were this time!!!!

Me and my nan came here today and spent alot of money, and as I went to get the trolley, my nan held our space in the queue. And because there was bush blocking the end of the queue I waited at the side of the queue ( KEEPING MY DISTANCE!!!) And a woman (who had a problem with me the last time I came in!!!) Told me to get to the back of the queue and to keep my distance!! And like I said I had kept my distance!!!! And she stared at me straight in the eye the whole time she was walking towards me!!!!

As we entered the store ,another, yet again rude woman, told me that my card was being "scanned to quickly" which it wasn't!!!! The people who actually work in the store, stacking shelves, absolutely LOVELY!!!!

Anyway, on our way out, due to the car park being in such a state my nan was pushing the trolley and she ran over a pot hole, and we had bought 2 crates of bottled coke, and a crate had fallen off of the trolley and smashed. So my nan picked up the crate of bottled coke and took it to reception, to asked if it could be replaced. The reply she got was "only if you bring the smashed one back!!!!) Even though my nan had put the currently smashed one on the reception desk and asked for it to be replaced. The woman on reception was rude and so unprofessional!! But then I didnt expect anything more!!!!

The lady that drives the red BMW and the short woman who works on reception, you are rude and unprofessional and need a reminder how to treat your customers!!! I will not be returning!!!!

Bookers, touch up your staff, and teach them good customer service and also tell them a smile and manners cost nothing!!!!

Bookers 17 years and counting.

I've been a Bookers customer for 17 years and I've used branches all over the North West, Ellesmere, Telford, Llandudno, Ardwick, Stockport, Shrewsbury, Aberystwyth etc etc. Never had a problem, the staff have always been polite and helpful, free coffee, what's not to like. Reading some of the reviews here I'm thinking some people don't know what the nature of the business is. Off to Wrexham this morning it closes at 2 perhaps I'll get there at half past and complain.

Unprofessional place to shop

Unprofessional place to shop
Lack of good and professional marketing and lack of staff and management training
I have been a member for a long time and I always close my eyes on a lot of things that happen in this place I have seen many time Rats and mouses running about also the worse things that I noticed today is that the staff at reception there are on there phone
Today I took the time to gather with my family my wife and my 2 wonderful daughter one of them is 5 years and they didn’t let me in as I didn’t know that kids ares allowed with there parents and the manager Tony that was on duty was bit hostile to me finally after 0ver 10years of business with you I felt humiliated and walked away and I don’t think I’ll recommend this place to any business
It’s horrible dirty and not welcoming I understand that BOOKERS got rid of the previous management that was bit better and they changed them for worse unfortunately I don’t have the time to write more as it’s a waste of time expressing myself

Went into my local branch in Newquay…

Went into my local branch in Newquay today - I have been a regular customer for 12 years - my card was declined and the Manager told me I did not have an account - I was very annoyed as I only used my account 2 weeks ago and use it regularly - the staff who I know all know me but the Manager - Mr Herd - told them not to get involved - the whole situation was bazaar - a very strange way to treat a loyal customer - i tried to ring customer services but was left on hold and then put through to a answer machine - no one has rung me back

Distinct lack of social distancing and an irresponsible idiot in the building

Experienced a very disappointing visit to Bookers at Moulsecoomb, Brighton this afternoon. Very little social distancing going on by customers, some seemed all together oblivious that social distancing was happening at all. Given the size of the place you wouldn't think it was that difficult. Made the mistake of going late in the day on a Saturday afternoon and was in the last batch of customers in the store. Things were very congested at the tills with customers milling around dis-regarding social distancing. Saw one bloke having an argument with a young idiot who was shining the laser from the self scan handset in peoples eyes and treating social distancing like it didn't exist. Thought it was going to get heated for a second. Staff did nothing.
