Overall we had a great time hiking Via Alta 1 (4 days), and was made stress free with all the bookings being sorted and the useful app with we relied on for navigation. The views were stunning.
Enjoyed staying at the rifugios, although rifugio lagazuoi was frosty and charged us city tax which I was not expecting. Definitely bring ear plugs and sandals!
My only criticism would be the difficulty- we both are experienced hikers and marathon runners but we struggled with the first 2 days- 34km total with 2700 meters of elevation (and a good chunk down too). This meant we didn’t get as much time to sit and enjoy the environment rather race to get there for 6pm and crash after dinner.

The trek plan was great - taking in a wide variation in terrain and routes. The app was very comprehensive and useful. The food in the rifugios was mixed; evening meals were generally great, breakfasts and packed lunches were universally disappointing. While this isn’t a Bookatrekking responsibility, it should be made very clear.

Book a trekking provides a wonderful portal that focuses on critical information to trekkers that have chosen not to be in large guided groups . From a downloadable detailed itinerary to packing list to weather. I was a bit suspect when I first found the website as I had never heard of it before. However its legitimacy was evident as the trekking began. We met many other trekkers also using BAT who had similar itineraries. We developed friendships with about 15 other trekers. We were all disappointed to discover that we were split up into about 5-6 different huts on our last night. Ultimately we planned a little reunion dinner after returning to Chamonix. I will very likely use BAT in the future.

Well organized trip. The communication was good, the app for navigating was excellent.

Very good experience. Two constructive feedback options. 1. At 50 years old and in good shape - day 1 and 3 were gruelling. Maybe a little shorter day would be better. 2. We had a group of 6 people. Non of us liked Rifugio Castiglioni Marmolada. Great adventure all around and app is excellent.

I liked the most the weather forecast for the tracking route!

Overall, the application is really good, however there was one issue.
Application wasn't updated with the fact that the red trail between Bremer hutte and Insbrukker hutte was blocked at some point and we needed to return back about 10 minutes.

The trek was absolutely wonderful and all went very smoothly. The bookings and organisation was flawless and we had an incredible experience.
Possible improvements: the hikes are explained rather generally and it does not really tell you what you can expect. In general yes, but they all sound rather scenic and do not give you a feeling how tough or difficult they can be.
The written explanation should be used to prepare you for this rather than giving you a bloomy picture of nice hikes and nature.
Some hikes were officially more difficult than mentioned in the app/description. We managed well but maybe it could be tricky for others. And some were more a nice walk rather than a hike while there were alternatives possible locally which we would have preferred to do.

The booking was seamless, and I appreciated all the information the app provided. My only complaint is that this hike is advertised as a "level above beginner." This hike was very strenuous those first two days, a great challnege but definitely people do need to prepare well. There was a point where it would've helped to bring something to attach to the metal cables we ran into on day two.

Bookatrekking is an incredibly reliable hike provider. We chose to go on a 10-day hut-to-hut Tour du Mont Blanc and had all breakfasts and dinners included. They booked and took care of everything for us (except flights), which was a big relief. The app worked almost perfectly for navigation (maps, shortcuts, incline, decline) and most features are available offline which was extra useful.
Why not 5 stars:
Some of the huts were wrongly marked as private homes and on day 9 we barged into someone’s private property (most of the time it was easy to find the right property however this one had the wrong address down, no phone number and wrong in-app marking), one of the huts made us pay for a 14-litre shower despite it supposedly being included and - in the same hut- we slept in a room that resembled a concentration camp rather than a refuge.
I will say, the minor issues while annoying, did not taint the overall experience, I have had a great time and would probably book with them again and maybe even recommend it to a friend!

The trek was beautiful, the huts comfortable, and the food excellent. book atracking.com made it all very easy. The navigation tools through the app were very helpful.
The only suggestion we have is to stop at Rifugio San Marco for lunch on the first day. And don’t miss the waterfall on the second day!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trek. All of the Rifugio arrangements were fantastic, and the navigation portion of your app kept us on track and getting everywhere we needed to go. The mountains were spectacular and best of all the people (many of whom also used bookatrekking.com) we met along the way were so enjoyable and make the entire experience that much better. We always know that anyone who is a hiker/trekker must be good solid people, but to experience that with all the international flavor of the people was a special and new experience for us. Thank you very much for all you did to ensure our trek was the best it could be.

The AV1 South was an amazing experience with dramatic scenery, and interesting encounters with people on the trail and at the rifugios from all over the world who were attempting the same physical challenge. The trail is marked with both the red and white blazes and trail numbers. The blazes are sometimes hard to follow across some areas as they are faint or far apart. The provided GPS worked very well, but also being familiar with the trail numbers beforehand would be a definite advantage.

Unforgettable experience! We went in June 2026 and weather is perfect. Views of the mountain range with glaciers is spectacular! Quite hot but tolerable. We did half of TMB from Chamonix to Courmayeur. Everything went smoothly from transport to accomodations(hut). Overall great experience!

The booking experience was really good from the very beginning until the end. The communication from the company was clear and delivered within 24 hours. The trails, the hotels, the hut conditions were clearly communicated and very easy to follow. Some suggestions would be to clarify the parking space because some of the parking spaces had signs for cars to be towed away. It would be great to informed the customers about the hidden gems along the path, such our waterfalls we found the information from one of the huts, and also the very last day of the trail seems to be redundant to the last three trails, and I would suggest to choose a new trail. I will definitely book my next travel experience with the company.

Have had a horrible experience dealing with this firm. I cancelled my two bookings on 1st of June and still not received refunds despite several phone calls and emails. The customer service experience is terrible. I have list 1170 euros now and I feel so bitter. Please don’t approach them as they are happy accepting your money but terrible at returning it if you cancel due to change in personal circumstances. Just awful!

Very helpful in the booking process, but the final confirmation was very late. Beautyful area to hike in, stunning views. The last hotel we stayed in was close to the main road and far from any place to eat dinner, not what we needed after a long hike. Lack of dinner options was also the case for the second accomodation, but that was a lovely place to stay. We also loved Rifugio San Pietro. The tracks were mainly well kept, but there was a tree blocking the path the first day, and some parts were full of brambles and stinging nettles on both sides. There were also inconsistencies between the app and the road signs, a bit confusing. Since our hike was so "urban", we would have loved to have luggage transport. Otherwise it was a great experience!

My friend and I booked the BEGINNER KESCH TREK from June 21-23. This trek is described as "Gentle alpine trails for first-time multi-day hikers". We communicated with the company and they assured us that this trek was appropriate for experienced hikers seeking a first hut-to-hut experience. We ran into trouble on our very first day - soft, deep snow at high altitude prevented us from reaching our first hut, forcing us to cancel the entire trip. We got stuck several times into knee-deep snow in the T3 section of the hike and had to be rescued and guided back down to the Fluela pass by two hikers who were coming (sliding!) down the mountain. They advised us not to keep going as conditions were even worse ahead. The company never told us about possible deep snow. All of this could have been avoided as there are other approaches to the hut . The company did not refund us our trip and did not seem concerned about our ordeal. THIS IS NOT A HIKE FOR BEGINNERS. Be sure to seek advice from locals before hiking to understand conditions and possible alternative routes.
