I was really impressed by the health check provided by Bluecrest today at The Holiday Inn near Aylesbury. The nurse, Sarah, was exceptional: professional yet friendly with a calm demeanour and explained the procedures clearly, as well as options for additional tests, which I found very helpful.

I had a core health assessment and would highly recommend. I was able to book an appointment within days, and local to where I lived.
Ryan (Brown) who carried out my assessment was fantastic. Firstly he squeezed me in, despite me being late to my appt. Then with the appt itself, he fully put me at ease and explained exactly what was happening throughout the assessment. He was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely professional.

I recently had a health assessment conducted by Ryan Brown, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Ryan provided an excellent service from start to finish. He was incredibly patient, taking the time to carefully listen to all my concerns without ever making me feel rushed. His approach was remarkably thorough, ensuring no detail was overlooked. Furthermore, he is clearly very knowledgeable, explaining everything in a clear, reassuring manner. I am especially grateful for his dedication to patient care. A huge thanks to Ryan for taking the time to work over the bank holiday weekend!

I just wanted to leave a special thank you to Richard, who looked after me during my appointment.
He was absolutely brilliant from start to finish — so friendly, kind, reassuring and professional. He made me feel completely at ease and comfortable, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to take care of me.
Unfortunately, despite Richard’s best efforts, my blood decided it simply wasn’t interested in participating that day! So, although we weren’t able to take the blood sample, I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in coming back and giving it another go.
Thank you so much, Richard, for being so lovely and making the whole experience such a positive one. You’re a credit to the clinic, and I really appreciate the care and kindness you showed me.
Hopefully next time my blood will have received the memo and actually turn up for the appointment!
Thank you again!

Had a health check today with Richard. From the moment I stepped in the room I felt relaxed. He explained everything clearly and simply . Made me feel as ease. Talked me through each stage and what happens next. Informed me about other tests but didn’t try to push me to pay for more. Definitely recommend the service and particularly Richard at Avisford

Had my first Bluecrest Health Assessment on Monday(yesterday) (performed by Jodie Evans) and she was informative, patient and thorough. I get veeery anxious for health appointments but still wanted an MOT, and considering I didn’t really 100% know what to expect, I found the process in the room and with Jodie calm, structured and everything was explained (right down to the types of equipment used and why). In fact, I left feeling quite pampered and inquisitive about everything!
For anyone wanting a run down on what to expect, I’ve written my experience (in order) here for any fellow anxious humans! (I got the Active package with an extra blood test add on). Some branches or nurses may do a different order or depending on your package, you may get similar or different tests:
You are called into the room by the Health Assessor/Nurse and there will be different bits of equipment around the room. This is not as scary as it might seem! Your assessor or nurse will introduce themselves, ask you to confirm your basic details and ask you some screening questions with regards to any previous health issues, family history, certain lifestyle habits and opens the floor for any questions you may have. (You may be given the option to choose an add on service if you wish but do not have to accept). You will then be asked to remove your shoes where your height will be taken. After this, you’ll be asked to step onto Biometric scales. Once you are done with these, your blood pressure is taken. You are then able to get up onto the bed and will be asked to lay on your back and to relax as much as you can whilst your ECG is performed. This is done via sticky pads which are stuck onto your arms and legs only. This is about a 30 second snapshot of your hearts rhythm, and your assessor may choose not to speak to you or engage with you during this as the aim is for you to stay as relaxed and calm as possible whilst laying as still as possible. From this, you will swiftly move onto your blood test. If you are somebody who is phobic of needles of has a history of fainting - don’t worry. You are given plenty of time to have a moment if you need to. After your blood test, you will bring yourself back to the chair and a lung function test will be performed. This involves blowing into a tube hard and fast, as best you can. You get 3 attempts of this, and your best reading will be the one used within your results. Your nurse or assessor may ask you to read out to them the percentage that the tube has given you on the little screen. Unless you have purchased further add ons - this is my experience of the full run down of the Active assessment as of 2026.
All-in-all, it took around 20-25 minutes and I received some results the same day, such as my biometric age, blood pressure, biometric scale measurements, BMI. Today, I received some information about my heart, I just await my blood results and other organ functions.
In my opinion, absolutely well worth doing, especially if you’re just wanting to have annual MOTs.
Sorry this is a bit long but I myself always appreciate detailed reviews and especially regarding things I’m naturally weary of. Thank you to Jodie and Bluecrest for their services and experiences they provide. 💙🌱
