Don’t buy Chicken Thigh Fillets from Coles stores
For the last time will I purchase Chicken Thigh Fillets from Coles. The use by date is incorrect, with 3-4 days left before the use by date the chicken smells off and has definitely already expired.
This has happened a few times now. I won’t bother to tick the box to let Coles know about my review as they couldn’t care less.
Disappointing Customer Service
Disappointing Customer Service – Beware the Coles Pea Protein
I bought Coles-brand pea protein from this store through the self-serve checkout. After trying it, I felt nauseous and tried to return the two unopened bags. Since I selected “no receipt” at the checkout (to avoid wasting paper), staff refused to help.
The girl at the counter was dismissive and unhelpful, insisting I needed a receipt. After a frustrating back-and-forth, I gave up and left the items on the counter.
Apparently, if you don’t print a receipt, you’re out of luck—even for Coles-branded products. Poor customer service. Also, the pea protein was bad on my stomach—definitely not for everyone.
Coles machine auto charged me double…
Coles machine auto charged me double the price. No weighing of items no detection beyond a human reading the screen. I can't imagine how many other people the machine must have ripped off before me. I complained to the manager who then told me that machines don't weigh. So anyone could literally put products in the checkout section and go undetected.

Having my food thrown into the bag by a Coles cashier was disgusting. I phoned Coles Shopping Centre and no one answered the phone. I'm not going back.
ACCC NEEDS TO DO MORE
I am writing to express my absolute frustration and disgust at the appalling service I received from your store. This experience has not only cost me time and money but has also demonstrated a shocking level of incompetence and disregard for your customers.
1.I placed an order expecting to receive the items I paid for. Instead, several products were missing, yet I was still charged for them. This is outright theft—taking my money without delivering the goods. Whether intentional or due to carelessness, the result is the same: I have paid for something I did not receive.
2.On top of that, my entitled 10% discount was not applied. This is either an unacceptable technical failure or a deliberate act to overcharge customers. Either way, it is inexcusable.
3.When I called to rectify this situation, I was informed that no manager was available to assist me. Instead of addressing the issue immediately, I was told I would have to wait 24 hours—as if waiting an entire day for a resolution to a food order issue is reasonable. Coles had no problem taking my money instantly, yet when it comes to fixing mistakes, I’m expected to wait?
4.To make matters worse, when I attempted to get this resolved over the phone, a staff member hung up on me. This level of rudeness and lack of accountability is absolutely disgraceful.
Coles has already been running riot with price gouging, shamelessly inflating the cost of essential goods while Australians struggle with the cost of living. Despite making billions in profit, your company continues to squeeze every last cent from customers while offering subpar service, inadequate issue resolution, and outright theft by charging for undelivered items. It is beyond disgraceful that a corporation of your size, with endless resources, cannot even provide a basic resolution when you take money without delivering goods. Instead, customers are met with delays, excuses, and shocking rudeness from staff. How dare Coles exploit people at every turn and then refuse to take responsibility when caught out?

Egg's price check
Hello people I am here to let you all know of my experience with Coles but before I start just to let you know I am deaf as in hearing impaired my disappointment comes from the fact and after the fact that is what it is when it comes to buying eggs stacked up on four or five shelves one shelf has price tags the next one doesn't third one has price tags the next one doesn't and I have told them many times to put price tags on all their shelves or else I will assume that it is for free and take it in front of you so it won't be theft because I have told you and it is documented that I have advised you of the matter both stores in Coburg 14/4/25 furthermore as a member of this community I do not understand how they could treat the regular customers with such stupidity when you speak with the workers they act oblivorant like they don't know what's going on speak to the manager they say we try did but if you in Coles or any other place your part of the the one hole which is the whole team so don't sugarcoat it I know it's a sales gimmick you just got your brains handed to you snake eyes

The shop is open Saturdays and Sundays from 9AM till 19 hours. But on the website they say weekend closed. It looks like they don't care about their business. Because they need to update their website infor of trading hours.
I received an offer from Flybuys they failed to allocate thousands of points
I received an offer from Flybuys to be rewarded with a large amount of bonus points if I downloaded the Coles app and shopped online. I met all of the criteria, yet the points failed to be be credited to my account. 14 days elapsed and I raised an enquiry with the Customer Contact Centre, 8 business days later and other than it’s been escalated , No update. When a customer legitimately follows the set criteria of a promotion and Flybuys fails to allocate the points it is disgraceful. We’re not talking a few we’re taking thousands. Shame on you FlyBuys and Coles for letting this happen. Woolworths and Aldi you have my custom moving forward.
Quality of packaged bread
In past 6 months the quality of packaged bread that has been kept frozen for shipment to store, then thawed and sold has really declined. These days it barely lasts a day, even tho the tag has a good expiry date, next day the bottom portion of all slices in the loaf is dried out and smells off, while the top portion of slices is bit fresher. Mainly affects Coles brand, but also some brand names. Although usually the brand names can survive 2 days before this happens. This is only a recent thing I've noticed, past few months. So I'm just wondering what procedures Coles has changed regarding the freezing of it's packaged bread. I've now switched to getting bread at Bakers Delight

It's more like a scam to be a financial credit card. I don't know how they could obtain the licenses and certificates, obviously by power of money! AFCA should seriously investigate their actions. Customer service is always misleading. They try to charge you for interest rate and more. They don't even care about losing customers. Their portal is not user-friendly, either.

Liverpool Coles Labelled Me a Thief
On Saturday the 8th, I was accused point-blank of stealing by two plainclothes Gestapo working for Coles Liverpool. (They spied on me the week before as well, with a lady following me around watching my every move.)
Is this how you treat your customers, Coles? I've been a loyal customer to your store and was there the day it opened.
This is the last time!
I went home and felt unusual. It weighed on my mind, so I decided to call to speak to management. The phone just rang and rang and rang as no one bothered answering it. I told my mum about my experience, and she went in on Sunday and asked to speak to the manager. She stood there for 30 minutes as no one bothered to come out, so she walked away.
I will never step foot in this Liverpool store again and will now be inconvenienced by having to travel way out to Casula or Chipping Norton. Thanks for nothing.
Not even worth one star.
Customer service
I was served by Caitlyn this afternoon 12.14pm, register 001, receipt no.7017.
Whe she was not rude, she was far from friendly. Unlike most of the staff I deal with there regularly.
Worst experience ever & Manager Cover up
Worst experience ever, Warwick Coles Saturday afternoon 01/03/2025. Female Coles employee standing around- putoff when I asked her to call a cashier as the two lines open were swamped. She then asked me what nationality I was, I told her nothing. After checkout the employee was disrespectful- she told me she would tell everyone not to serve me in the future because I was not nice to her. Racists discrimination. Called the store manager to report her- he did nothing.
Best Service
Got a delivery this morning from Coles and it was a really pleasant experience. Kayla was the delivery driver and she was so kind and helpful and even offered to bring in my shopping for me. I only let her put the water inside the door as I could do the rest but it was so refreshing to have such lovely customer service. Kayla should be paid more as she is so lovely and kind.
Coles Online in Northern NSW is…
Coles Online in Northern NSW is excellant. Products are reliable with a range of eggs, fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, gluten/lactose free, herbal items and the only white wine I can drink. With increased customer awareness of allergies on the body I would like allergy-free items to be extended.
Coles changed home delivery policy
It is disgusting that Coles has changed its home delivery policy. It does not let you choose a slot that is convenient for the customer but dictates when you can have your groceries unless you pay $129 for Coles annually.
