Got scammed $100
Got scammed $100, paid using their interface, clicked on Metamask, then I could choose Phantom wallet, so selected that, made the payment using my wallet, payment went through, then got an email that I used a incompatible wallet, no reply from customer support.
Beware, big scammers! Going to post on every possible website and sue these motherf*ckers.
Do NOT trust them with your money
I'm thankful it took so long to verify me so I couldn't use it and have worse problems.
Auto verification failed. The website states it will take 24-48 hours for manual verification.
After 1 month, multiple emails and 2 attempts at a form requesting to delete my account, which despite being multiple choice the response both times was "it's not clear what you want us to do". They finally VERIFIED my account.
Then filling out the form one last time and a final email reminding them they have 3 days remaining to delete it before it's forwarded to the ICO for GDPR breach they finally deleted it
The system doesn't work, the support is virtually non existent, do not trust them with your money or even ID.
Worst customer support ever
Worst customer support ever, I accidently send an amount to their wallet address, which after some tickets they seem to realize it was not tied to an Invoice, and they've stopped responding ever since since!
Scam Tactics – Cancels Payments to Force KYC
BitPay canceled my payment without any valid reason — no timeout, no error, nothing. The merchant (Namecheap) confirmed they never even received it. Now BitPay refuses to return my funds unless I hand over full government ID for KYC. This feels like an intentional scam to collect personal data — holding customers’ money hostage until they comply. Avoid at all costs.
Never, Ever EVA use Bitpay!!!
Firstly, since I'm using a wallet not on their front page (the 'recommended' ones), I used the 'WalletConnect' function - which failed badly! I then contacted support showing the relevant screenshots, and "Carl" did nothing but copy links to their "how to" section - and obviously didn't bother to even read my email. I also note his reply had flagged my case as 'solved'. How can you say it's solved when you don't get feedback from the customer to say it is??
After going through crap, I did something slightly different to connect my wallet, and somehow that worked ok.
Sceondly, however now, I get a message saying I underpaid! Given I had paid $197.00 USD worth of BCH (typing into the USD line, not using the BCH line), for a $197.00 invoice, something is seriously wrong here!!! (yes, I paid the amount exactly as written!)
The website stated "This invoice was underpaid and has expired. Please request a refund by providing a wallet address where you'd like to receive the refund." The email said I could claim my refund - but lo and behold, they're refusing to do so unless I provide personally sensitive information to a third party, who will use facial recognition technology to ensure that, once they're hacked, I'll lose my life and funds! (yes, I am vehemently against the Kill Your Customer laws being put in place - farrrrr too few oversight mechanisms and guarantees!)
DO NOT USE BITPAY!!!!!
Given the number of bad reviews on this site, I doubt they'll care about getting yet another one - because $200 is worth that much to them!

I send 40$ for adding funds in namecheap, They say invoice expired but I paid in first minute,
Now namecheap is asking to contact bitpay and bitpay say contact namecheap, My funds lost,
Don't try bitpay
Scam status deserved!
Scam status deserved!
It's time those guys got a scam status review from me. After torturing me for some time with a withdrawal to their wallet, they were bold enough to ask me to sign a document with details regarding my personal data, a certain Mike because I was characterised a PEP (politically exposed person!!!!). Had I been that famous?? They are a joke. I deleted them and a scam status is all they deserve.
They stole 0.01 BCH from me
I was robbed of 0.01 BCH while trying to pay for a service on Namecheap. The payment was processed through BitPay, which requested my documents. After I submitted them, they were rejected, and BitPay archived the payment order. When I clicked on 'request a refund', the system said the payment order was unavailable. I emailed support, and their response was an illogical lie claiming the refund option had been reinstated — even though the order remained archived until it was eventually deleted, along with my BCH.
BitPay Took My Money – No Help, No Refund, Just Silence
I paid 1271 DOGE for a BitPay invoice that only required 1266 DOGE. I overpaid and sent the funds on time, but their system falsely flagged the invoice as "underpaid."
I've provided full blockchain proof, screenshots, and even the exact TXID showing they received and moved the funds. Support keeps replying with canned messages, ignoring my evidence. When I finally proved I owned the email (an Apple alias), they still refused to help.
It's been days — no refund, no resolution. This feels like outright theft.
BitPay is holding my crypto hostage, and I’m not the only one. Just look at all the other 1-star reviews. If you value your money, avoid BitPay at all costs.

(EDIT HERE: I did eventually get my money back, I escalated through several support and complaint lines, and had to threaten legal action)

Bitpay will never refund your money if you got situation like underpaid or overpaid invoice when buying domain or hosting service on Namecheap. Their verification is impossible and even when you try to email your documents to them they would still refer you to their impossiple identity verification link that would show verification failed after all your efforts.

I put in a small amount of money to try the system.
Needless to say, 100% of the money was gone and not recoverable.
Don't give them any more than you can afford to lose.
I should have checked the reviews before I sent them any money.
Lesson learned.

BitPay is illegally blocking GDPR rights. Scammy and hostile to EU users.
BitPay refuses to update my account email unless I give them ID or proof of payment, despite the fact that I've never verified my ID and never made a single payment on their platform.
Under GDPR Article 16, I have the legal right to correct my personal data. BitPay is blatantly violating EU law, hiding behind made-up "security requirements" that don't apply. They're demanding information they have no right to, just to stall or block basic user control over your own account.
Their support is useless, robotic, and dismissive. They don't care about European users or legal obligations.
If you're in the EU: avoid BitPay like the plague. Hostile, non-compliant, and shady as hell. Reporting them to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens and EDPB next.
Review: I’m New to Crypto Payments – BitPay Holding My LTC with No Service or Refund
Review:
As someone new to online payments, I trusted BitPay to handle a Litecoin (LTC) payment I made for a VPN subscription with Private Internet Access. Unfortunately, although the payment went through successfully, the invoice was marked as “underdue” — something I didn’t understand at first.
Here are the details:
• Invoice ID: VTaBUJcEc26jFLE29HGVuz
• Transaction ID: af60ca90b51bb1e05942d56450e6a542e83bd729b4fb90f8cc7b25b13c45841a
I never received the service, and I’ve had no refund from BitPay. I’ve contacted support multiple times, but so far there’s been no solution.
As a first-time user, this experience has been very discouraging. I hope BitPay does better in assisting new users and resolving payment issues more quickly.
BitPay took my funds, no refund, no service
I made a full payment of $99.95 in DOGE through BitPay to subscribe to ExpressVPN. However, BitPay rejected my ID after payment, citing OFAC regulations, and now refuses to allow access or issue a refund, even though the invoice itself showed "Refund Available."
To make it worse, I am from Iran and in a time of crisis and conflict in the region, I urgently needed access to this VPN service for safety and communication. I’ve already used BitPay in the past successfully with the same VPN provider, but this time I was left with no access and no recourse.
Both BitPay and ExpressVPN keep pushing responsibility to each other, and neither is willing to activate the service or return my funds. This feels like theft disguised behind policy.
Please be warned before using BitPay. They do not treat customer issues fairly and hide behind vague sanctions excuses.
The most failed and bad platform
The most failed and bad platform, and deception. I transferred ETH from Binance to this fraudulent platform, BITPAY. Despite completing everything correctly from Binance and the transfer process being completed by Binance, I did not receive anything on this platform, BITPAY, not even an email. I did the transaction again and the same thing happened. I lost my money. So my advice is to avoid this fraudulent platform

Using Bitpay wallet made House Mining a truly worthwhile investment platform for me.
I see everyone writing negative of Bitpay and I still can't comprehend because all my withdrawals has been processed quickly and with very low fees. Unlike other company wallets like Blockchain, which often charges high fees just because the transactions come from an investment platform, Bitpay keeps it smooth and adorable. Anyone into passive income, I highly recommend giving them a fair trial with the company I mentioned above. Highly efficient, reliable, investor-friendly and fast payment process.
It is a scam they don't have anything
It is a scam they don't have anything. They don't know what they are doing. They are purely a scam company who is looking for people to get there money and also drain your wallet be aware
Bad service
First, their service does not see the payment, although they initiated the transaction through Metamask, and then they require verification for a refund. Such nonsense, I don't recommend it to anyone!
