Don't download this app

Don't download this app! Being charged long after cancellation of subscription. Deleted account and app, then continued to get charged. Can't log in, because I don't have an account any more - yet still being charged through Apple Pay, but Apple has no record of a subscription either. Have to go to bank to report fraud.

Giving one star because you can’t write…

Giving one star because you can’t write a review without, absolute SCAM, cancelled my subscription yet they still took payment. The app is crap. Do not engage with it.

SCAM APP

as everyone said, this is a scam app which steals money from your account even though you did not subscrib it. The problem is how to stop this company taking money from other potential victims?

Would be great if the app actually worked

The app doesn't allow me to press to start my fast, and customer service have been useless. The calories for many foods are also inaccurate.

Immediate cancellation + Met the Requirements = Still No Refund

Canceled within 24 hours and still refused a refund.

I purchased the subscription on January 2 and requested cancellation the next day. They confirmed the cancellation immediately but declined to refund the charge.

They initially offered a partial refund instead. When I asked for the full refund, they said I needed to meet certain usage requirements under their money-back policy.

I followed their instructions, logged the required activity, and requested the refund again within 30 days. After that, support stopped responding and redirected me to an automated inbox.

I acted in good faith and tried to resolve this directly. I’ll let others decide what that says.

Biggest scam on TikTok

Signed up to a free trial with no intension of keeping the subscription after using it for a few days. The features on the app are diabolical. They either don’t work or don’t make any sense. For some reason, cancelling isn’t as simple as most apps. After emailing them to cancel even before my free trial ended, they tried to take payment. After removing all funds from my account because I had a gut feeling I was being scammed, they tried to take a further 7 payments. This is even after I was assured that they had cancelled the sub. They are still trying to dip into my account.

Update: Bitepal will attempt to say that auto renew is part of sign up, however I cancelled this subscription almost immediately which takes their right to debit any money from my account yet they still done so. Additionally, after receiving an email from a REAL PERSON apologising and confirming the cancellation, money was still taken from my account.

Looks like an ok app but has very bad raring of the food you are tanking picture of. Took the same picture through to different health apps and chat gpt who they all said the same, but BitePal where way off. You also have to pay extra for many functions, have not pain anything in the app because of all the bad reviews of them scamming with the payments

No refund

I used the free 3 days trial and canceled, but I was still charged. I requested a refund and only received automated messages trying to upsell me things I didn’t want. No real support, no refund.
DO NOT use this app. Look for another app with the same purpose but with reliable customer support. Bitepal is not worth it.

Charged after cancelation

I cancelled the App the day after I enrolled, well within the 7 day trial period. Sure enough, after the 7 days, they fraudulently charged me a full $49.99 anyway! I’ve read many negative reviews of this happening to other people as well. Very shady way to do business. I have made 3 attempts now to have the refund but just keep getting auto replies offering discounts on staying with this over-priced App. Be warned.

Scam

Scam! I cancelled my subscription before my 1-week trial ended and they charged me $39.99 AND $38.95. I've sent them an email but after seeing reviews I don't expect a response. I had to order a new card and block my old one.

Fraud

Avoid! It’s a fraud. I got the app and paid for the trial, than I got offered 38 usd yearly subscription. All of a sudden the app started to charge me monthly those 38 usd. There is no way to cancel this subscription in the app or via subscriptions. I reported to my bank as a scam.

AVOID

AVOID. Scam-like behaviour. Calorie readings are wildly inaccurate, and the refund policy is specific and appears to be designed to avoid giving you your money back. I find it unusable because the tracking is so inaccurate, but they refuse to refund it because I haven't used it for 15 consecutive days. When it is giving inaccurate health data, why would I? Don't be sucked in by the 'fun' element, you can do better.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. The app itself is fun but be prepared to pay $50 a month in fees!!!
I cancelled my 1 week trial after 1 day. Then they still charged me. I’ve had to lodge a dispute AND cancel my card!!!
They don’t respond to emails. There’s no way to unsubscribe. It’s the sneakiest raccoon out there!!! Don’t do it!!

– Refusal to Refund for Unusable…

– Refusal to Refund for Unusable Product

I purchased an app that I never managed to access due to a missing password and no password reset option. Despite multiple requests, the company refused to refund me, hiding behind a 30-day usage policy—even though I could never use the app at all.

After six identical, dismissive responses, they still offered only partial refunds or irrelevant incentives, ignoring my clear demand for a full refund. Their customer service is unresponsive, unfair, and unwilling to resolve legitimate issues.

Avoid this company if you value fairness and respect for consumer rights. I am now forced to escalate to my bank and consumer protection agencies.

a trap!!

a trap!!! I tried a free trial and deleted it after 2 days due to its lack of precision, I sent an email requesting the deletion of data and this coming month they have charged 33 euros! There is no way to contact or modify data since the account is deleted! Don't fall for it's a scam

Fraud

Fraud - they charged me without asking for my permission and now that I’m trying to cancel, it’s not possible via the app! You have to send them an email which they never replied to. So I’m reporting it to my bank as a fraud.
