Serious Safety Concerns and Misleading Property Practices
I wish to report a deeply concerning experience with Biscayne Residential Properties Letting Agency, which my wife recounted to me.
Prospective tenants are, it would appear, not given the opportunity to view or select from the properties advertised. When she enquired about a specific property, she was simply told that it was “not possible” to view any of the advertised properties, without any explanation, and was instead redirected towards entirely different accommodations that she had not chosen.
In her case, she was given an appointment to view a property purportedly suitable for a couple with two young children. Upon arrival, she found the location to be entirely inappropriate and unsafe — more akin to a dangerous area than a family residence.
The agent was late, and in the meantime, she was approached by an individual who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, with blood around his mouth, offering to let her into the building using his badge. This was extremely alarming, and she immediately left the premises.
She later discovered that the building is reportedly associated with prostitution and drug activity, situated on an unsanitary street lined with rubbish.
It is truly distressing to see that, in this day and age, some agencies appear willing to place families at risk in order to offload properties that are otherwise difficult to let.
I strongly advise against dealing with this agency.
