**Avoid Biffa Waste**
I signed up with Biffa Waste on 18 May 2026, after being promised weekly waste collections\. Since then, my bin has been collected just three times\. The last collection was on 3 July, and more than 6 weeks later, it is still overflowing\.
The situation has become completely unacceptable\. The waste smells awful and is attracting rats\. I have called Biffa countless times, and on every occasion I was promised a next\-day collection\. Instead, shortly before the office closes, I receive another postponement message with yet another excuse\.
Their customer service has been completely ineffective\. Rather than providing a solution, I have repeatedly been given excuses and further delays\.
To make matters worse, Biffa demanded payment for 12 weeks of weekly collections despite failing to provide the service I was paying for\. Expecting customers to pay for services they simply did not receive is unacceptable\.
I have already requested to cancel my contract, but the matter remains unresolved\.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise anyone considering Biffa Waste to **stay well away**\. This has been an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience from start to finish\.

Update: It's been 14 days since i emailed the Biffa trust pilot email as they requested and I'm yet to get a reply back. We also haven't heard anything back from our escalation over the phone, or a further email that was sent to a customer service specialist which was apparently escalated to the specialist team 15 days ago.
Constant breach of contract, missed collections, no accountability, false promises, 45 minutes to get through to them, no callbacks as promised, account managers that disappear after contracts are signed (ours has been on holiday for about 4 months now according to other agents), genuinely the worst commercial bin company we have ever used.
If you don't love the idea of your offices being make shift commercial waste storage areas i'd probably go elsewhere

See my review from 6th August. Biffas reply ... they're going to look into it. They have!!! They actually phoned me today....And they've put the collection of THEIR bins back another 2 weeks to 26th August, these are the same bins that were being collected on 26th June. Does anyone at Biffa actually read the reviews and action them or just do the standard cut and paste message of we will look into this. Horrendous continuous bad customer service.

Awful service. Never able to get through and speak to someone when our bins are not collected (repeatedly) in a heatwave. Extremely expensive for zero service. Are leaving Biffa and won't look back!

Charlie has been brilliant from start to finish. Quick quote, no pestering and bin delivered the next week, other suppliers haven't even got back to me with a quote yet! Had a few queries regarding where to leave it for collection as our building is a little confusing, but sorted it out straight away for us! Thank you Charlie!

Excellent service in setting up the account. Understood our requirements and made suitable recommendations. Met our key requirements of keeping costs reasonable and providing adequate bins and collections

Biffa has left a broken bin with no closing lid where flies have infested it for weeks. I called to report it to them and because I am not the owner of the bin they cannot take the details.
So I have to go to the council, report them and await for them to be fined to have it fixed.
In the meantime the bin area is like death and they think this is acceptable? You think it is OK to leave a neighbourhood infested with flies for "gdpr" purposes as per your phone operator? You think it weights more again health and safety?
SHAME ON YOU

They constantly miss collections. I only have one recycling bin, yet they repeatedly fail to collect it on the scheduled date.
To make matters worse, they falsely claimed that the driver had completed the collection. After investigating, they discovered that the driver was actually miles away from my business at the time.
I will definitely be switching to a more reliable company. Their customer service is equally disappointing, with nobody answering the phone and over 40 minutes wasted every time I try to get assistance.
Absolutely unacceptable service. Avoid if you value reliability and customer support.

If only I could give no stars. Frequently missed collections, billed for collections outside of access times that were agreed, customer service phone number often more than 30 mins to answer. No complaints procedure, no system to enable canceklation of contract.

Our experience with Biffa has been nothing but stress and unnecessary drama. We suffered repeated missed collections, including food-waste bins being left uncollected for two consecutive weeks. One of our bins was also broken by their driver, leaving us with only two usable bins and overflowing waste.
On top of the poor collection service, we experienced repeated billing problems and had to spend far too much time chasing issues that should never have happened. Despite raising our concerns, the service did not improve, which ultimately forced us to cancel.
For a business that relies on dependable waste collections, Biffa proved unreliable, frustrating and extremely difficult to deal with. Based on our experience, I would not recommend them.

The worst waste company by far, missed collections, make up lies saying site blocked when that’s not actually possible and cctv to prove. I would not use biffa if the service was free. Glad to be rid of these lazy crooks, sooner they go pop the better

In my opinion, this company's billing and cancellation practices are appalling. Read your contracts people set reminders and watch out for excessive charges for weight in bins especially recycling.

Bins missed repeatedly with no follow-up, yet charged in full as if collected. When you complain, staff are dismissive and rude, acting like collecting your bin is a favour rather than a paid service. Then hit with a huge cancellation invoice for trying to leave after their failures. Avoid.

we're 3 weeks in and still nothing picked up and they're now adding additional charge fees because their 'pick up' service don't actually pick up items, they are assuming you will move everything for them.

David Forrest was very helpful & knowledgeable.
Completed the whole process with ease.
Highly recommend.

We contacted Biffa to arrange waste bins for our new business. The previous business at our site had used Biffa, so we already knew they serviced the location.
My initial conversation was with Kirsty, who is now our sales representative. I explained the situation and was asked to send photos of the site, which I did straight away. However, I never received any confirmation that the photos had been received, either by email or phone.
After that initial conversation, I only spoke to Kirsty twice in total: once at the very beginning and then again at the very end when it was time to sign the contract. Throughout the rest of the process, I dealt with different members of the sales team each time I called, which meant there was no real continuity or ownership of my case.
The following day, I called for an update and was told that the Carlisle depot was reviewing everything. From that point on, I ended up calling every single day for almost nine days because nobody ever contacted me with an update. Instead of Biffa keeping me informed, I had to do all the chasing.
Throughout the process, the sales team repeatedly said they were waiting for a response from the Carlisle depot. Whether that was the case or not, as a customer it simply felt like responsibility was being passed around rather than anyone taking ownership of getting the issue resolved. It didn’t feel as though there was any urgency from the sales team to push things forward. One member of the sales team even told me they could see the site had been serviced before and was clearly accessible, making me question why I was asked to send photos in the first place if the depot already knew the location was suitable.
After around nine days, I finally reached the point of signing the contract. During the delay, one of the sales team members had reassured me that, because of how long I’d been waiting for a response, they would be able to get my bins delivered more quickly once everything was approved. However, when I spoke to Kirsty to sign the contract, she told me that the call recordings did not show that this had ever been promised, despite me clearly remembering that conversation.
The only reassurance I was then given was that she would fast-track the opening of my account. Even with that, I was told I would still be waiting around 7–10 days for the bins to be delivered, so there wasn’t really any meaningful resolution to the delay I had already experienced. There was also no real apology for the time it had taken or any gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience.
Hopefully, now everything is in place, the ongoing service will be much smoother than the sign-up process. At this stage, however, my experience with the sales team has been disappointing. The communication was poor, I had to do all the chasing, and the onboarding process took far longer than it should have. I’m hoping I can update this review positively in the future once I’ve experienced the actual collection service.
